Found a patch in Beaverton spread out under  maple leaves 30 yards from a playground today. The conditions have finally arrived for this season to start. Weather report says more rain tonight. check every park you possibly can.

hey i just dug up this old post.. http://www.shroomery.org/forums/showflat.php/Number/4947434 the mushrooms pictured in the link entitled Conifer Psilocybe-Psilocybe Pelliculosa  look very similar to the ones i pictured... the location of the specimens i pictured where found in nearly the same locations as the ones pictured in the link... i would guess that the two, mycena and pelliculosa- get mixed up often..

Ton more cyans today. It was raining much too hard for pictures, though. I must say: Thank you, Fungi. If this keeps up... Someone here can tell you on what book and page Terrence talked about Fungi being an extraterrestrial species who's spores were carried to Earth. Relate to Panspermia theory. And the evolutionary curve of Fungi seems to be so rapid we haven't even realized it quite yet. Anyway, eat some shrooms and read about the giant fungus in Oregon being the largest (discovered) living organism.

Oh and if anyone could help me out, how much of my find do you think I should eat to experience a high level 4 trip, I don't have a scale and weighed it on a friends it came out to 5.6 grams but I don't think they were fully dried so I think I lost some weight, anyways. Thanks!

This is about 1/4 of the haul ready for drying:  3.0 LBS wet.


I started picking everything except the pins, but I was running out of daylight and the rain was starting to come down, so I just picked the ones that were going to rot until I could get back there in the next day or 2.

Well, finally made the journey to a previously discovered Psilocybe azurescens habitat and additionally located another while out on the mission.  Such a great surprise in the numbers!  Made the successful migration to the Pacific northwest and now am fully enjoying the fruits of the land!  So grateful to be here and now!  NJoy the photographs!



The Divine Soma, Fly agaric (Amanita muscaria)
    A populous specie at this particular time of the season!  Amazing speciens, just wish more time was available to appreciate their beauty and all else they offer;  I will make time!


Flying Saucer Mushroom (Psilocybe azurescens)
      This specie is already well on its route for scheduled spore release!  Really surprised at the numbers of fruit and the density of fruiting as well.  In addition, amazing habits were displayed:  the "exposed" habit, fruits are exposed to harsher weather conditions and show characteristics that are directly affecting such as the diameter of the stem, size of cap, and cestipose clustering.  However, it is necessary to be "shadowed" by the wind in a sense, allowing air exchange but having a less direct interaction.  These cestipose clusters begin fruiting at the node at which its host grass sends roots and shoots.  This is a great stronghold technique for the specie
Another habit, the "stretch" habit, happens when the pin begins in a mound of densely distributed grass host and must send a long stem up to attempt reaching the moving air and fast.  This is to increase the spore range, amount of spores which are actually spread, and this is to directly increase the species chances of survival by boosting the genetic variance, and creating a diverse populous and strong stock of individuals.

(Panaeolus castaneifolius)  These are shown in a couple photographs next to the dehydrator layers filled with Psilocybe azurescens and also within a condensation covered glass mason beside the other chilled azurescens jar.

(Psilocybe pelliculosa) (shown in the one azurescens dehydrator tray photograph, above and between the second and third trays)

Today I found a decent little patch in the woods growing from a pile of woodchips, harvested about 80 grams.
I had a picture from my phone but im having problems uploading it right now, so ill post later.

Measuring a trip by level is funny.  IMO, you either take a journey of amazing self discovery (which happens in so many different ways...  Walking in the woods, playing around, listening to music, falling into a trance, etc) or you don't.

I say eat them all.  The more fresh they are the better (I hate dry shrooms).

I almost never weigh my shrooms.  With Cyans, I'll eat between 10 and 30 in a sitting and let them take over from there.  I count about 16 in your picture and I say 'go for broke!'.  Just tell someone you trust what you're doing so they make sure you don't go running in the streets naked with a sword or anything crazy like that. :grin:
