Very nice finds!! Im yet to find any growing off a log yet!
In saying that, i try look around mulched council areas, so they are generally pretty good with removing fallen debris from the area..

What are the chances we could introduce this species to Australia and get some warm weather woodlovers down under!!!???

I would say yes. They seem to be aggressive and easily adapt to new environments/climates. Go for it.

Few and far between in a pine forest today. Found a few small patches, then single bois dispersed throughout KMs of forest.
Despite the lack of haulage, still a nice day out

Is anyone having much luck in the blue mountains this year??? for me it’s been the worst season in over a decade!!! even when the conditions had been perfect there has been no action? I must admit many of my spots seam to have run their course and are all finishing together which hasn’t helped but iv’e never struggled to find new ground before but this year has been shocking. is it just me? have i lost my touch? im used to them finding me! The council needs to get the dam woodchippers out and get to work! it’s so overgrown up there. What about Jenolan? much luck in the pines lately? havn’t bothered with the extra drive for a few years cause it’s never been needed before. Help i wanna cry hahaha

Hi nice people!
In the guide here, it lists these species for NSW:
Quote:
New South Wales Gymnopilus sp. Panaeolus cinctulus Psilocybe cubensis Panaeolus cyanescens Psilocybe subaeruginosa Psilocybe alutacea Psilocybe papuana Psilocybe tasmaniana ( https://mushroomobserver.org/269230 )
Just wondering, in Sydney's leafy North Shore which ones of those would you expect to find??
I don't know the others but cubensis grows on cow dung and I don't see many cows on a daily basis.
I know there's subs because I found some, but are the others actually common? What's the other most common one so I can research where to find them?
Thanks everyone.

Glad to hear it's not just me! After a little flush at the start of the season I was feeling confident. But since then it's been so sad... I can only think we didn't get the rain, but parts of Victoria did based on the RIDICULOUS patch photos I've been seeing.
BOM May Summary: May rainfall was well below average for Australia as a whole
Rainfall for the month was below average for most of northern Australia, the west of New South Wales and Victoria, Tasmania, southern South Australia, and the east of Western Australia
Rainfall for the month was above average for the west of Western Australia, eastern Victoria and south-eastern New South Wales
Mean maximum temperatures for May were warmer than average for most of Australia, but close to average for much of New South Wales, southern Queensland and South Australia
Mean minimum temperatures for May were warmer than average for most of Western Australia, but cooler than average for the Kimberley and large parts of the Northern Territory, and scattered areas of the eastern mainland, mostly in inland New South Wales

For an actives thread, this sure isn't very active.
I'm a noob but looking at the older NSW official threads and Vic official thread 2021 makes me jealous.
Bad season this year?
