i agree. If you find 4 or 4000 you should be happy, VERY HAPPY! how many people actully get to see real weilii let alone pick these little buggers!!! We're all brothers here gathered for one reason ... our love of mycology. Lets not turn this into a one up contest O.K. And instead of putting others down for only finding a couple why not help them so they can be as lucky as you were!!!! Anyways keep up the love guys and lets not qural amongst ourselves.

I agree, sorry but I'm just trying to let people know there really is no limit to how many you can find. We're not here in a contest, were here to share tips on finding, and give others inspiration so that they too can share in this wonderful specimin.

Gumby, are you serious? If I remember correctly, psilocybin holds one of the strictest penalties and if you have mass amounts you can be put away for life easily. I always thought they were not illegal until dried. Am I wrong? So if grandma goes outside and picks a couple weillii she can go to jail for years?

I will also add that weilii are very picky about location for some reason. You have to cover alot of ground before you find a patch, but when you do, you're set.

I'm not sure why they choose to grow in some area's so abundantly and not others, even though the habitat is nearly identicle. Just remember Patience is the most important thing in finding weilii.

"Psilocybin mushrooms are not specifically named in the U.S. federal scheduling system, however their two primary active chemicals Psilocybin and Psilocin are both Schedule I in the United States. This makes them illegal to buy, sell, or possess without a DEA license. Fresh and dried psilocybin mushrooms are considered containers of Psilocybin and Psilocin, making them illegal to possess as well."

Ok well guys, It's been nice hunting weilii, but I'm done. Theres no way in hell it's worth the risk. Schedule 1 is right up there with crack, lsd, etc. I'm an 18 year old, I won't be convincing any judge I was out picking these mushrooms in massive amounts because of my admiration for fungus.

I'm sure cops are going to catch on too, they probably already know weilii exists and that people are picking them and thus they'll stop you if they see you to check your bag.

Goodluck guys and stay safe. I'm going to dispose of these things immediately.

just thought I would say that me and TSH came across 45 weilii today... some are SMALL, and yet, I got 3 that are FAT!! I did not realize they got this big.... bruising is aparent, but they don't bruise in the manner cubes do... where I cut the caps off with scicors they blue, but they wont blue easy from pinching a stem and when they DO bruise from pinching it turns BLACK(possibly dark dark blue)! prints in progress they are hardly dropping spores , but I can make out the purple clearly...

actually I jumped to comclusions, it APEARS to be purplish/light pink, and on one cap it is darker...what color ARE weilii spore prints supposed to be? I KNOW they are them because of the smell, and the brusing, and the clearly visable traits of the mushrooms, but I want to be sure... also, they were found in a neighborhood 8 years old ON FOOT( we woulda NEVER saw them driving by) in bermuda.... further searching of the area revealed even more, and one was found on the lawn next door.

also, has anyone else had trouble getting them to drop alot of spores(I even did a drop of water on the cap)......

I left about 10 mushrooms behind so that the patch will stay good year round and hopefully next year :

About these mushrooms. The smell is very reminiscent of cubes, and it did indeed appear to already be bruised. However, when we pinched it and spilt the stem it did not bruise... in fact nothing we did at the time made them bruise. I think the number was a little lower than 45, but I had to leave in the middle of the harvest. The neighborhood seemed to be just the right age... and the advice I had given about getting out of the car and walking around instead of driving seems to be good advice. We would not have found these mushrooms the other way around.

I'll post pictures later if I am able.

I was trying to tell you they may not bruise just like cubes do... I can cleary see the bruising now at my house though... I hope your digi works good so we can post some pics for proof.... when we left the first time I had 15 mushrooms... 2nd visit brought it up to 45 .. ALWAYS... ALWAYS search the area in a 100 foot radius of where you find any... they are out there and HIDE WELL

The picture doesn?t do it justice. The bluing is clear.



However, at least one of the suspect weilli prints seem to be more of a dark rust color than the dark purple.

The stems are hollow and fibrously white on the inside... on the outside it is a thin later of light to dark brown that, once scraped, reveals white underneath (though this doesn?t seem to cause it to bruise in any way.) The stems "gleen" and "glisten" kinda like the holographic fat in ham.

The caps have a wavy appearance and the smaller ones have a more pronounced nipple than the larger ones. The smaller ones often have a lighter colored gill. I?m not very familiar with the gill index... it?s alternating, but the edges don?t seem to be fringed with white. Gellatenous pellicle, it would seem... they are drying but when I pressed it to my lower lip I could feel it pull.

NICE! Glad to see that you guys found them on your own. I'll be checking my patches tomorrow. Got caught up tonight.

Just to clarifiy: as far as we know P. weilii ONLY GROWS IN GEORGIA. North Georgia to be exact. The farthest south I know of them being found is the I-20 line.

I found at least 10 rotted weilii, they musta 'sprouted' right after the rain... but most of the others apeared to have been mature for 12 or so hours(just a guess) ... poor shroomhermit had to work and I got to have all the fun... they are on the fan as we speak.. I wanted SOOOOO bad to trip on fresh weilii but because of work/school that will not happen.... can you or anyone comment on how many grams dry weilii you have to take to be somewhat = to 4 grams dried cubes( I searched but came up empty)

I'd say start out low. Try around 1.5-2.5 grams.

ah nice... I will have to start giving away my old lesser potent cubes and fill my stash with weilii for the winter until next season... it's crazy to think that a large mushroom I found which was 13.5 wet would be an entire trip .... thx for the advice... I want to see some pictures... has no one gone looking?


also directed to TSH: I told ya man! the moment I saw these i KNEW there were weilii, and when I went back I was sure DOUBLE because I could smell them 30 feet away... and tripple when they bruised, and 4x when the prints came out... I know it is good to be skeptical and safe, but had you read 3 hours of weilii info the night before you would not have been wondering....


weilii are weird, they will draw you to them if your karmic vibrations are right... be open and go where you are guided... it was a 'freak chance' that TSH picked the neighborhood, and I happened to be on the side of the street we found them, AND that I just happened to wander pretty deep into someones yard before seeing them....

watch out for tresspassing charges, try not to look very suspicious, but if you can( like I did but TSH did not) walk IN the lawn so you can see the far end to the garden beds and then down to the street cleary...


also... by foot is superior I think in MANY weilii hunting places, but driving you could also spot them( it will be hard though)
