can anyone comment on WHY these weilii stems would not bruise blue except where I cut them with scissors? the cubes I found bruised all over the stem even with MINIMAL handling... could they be less potent then normal? or.....? some of the caps are bruised blue around the edges but other then that all the pinching and smashing in the world wont bruise these stems, they only turn black after a good while, OR the bluing is very dark and below the surface

after finding almost 50 in a small area I can see a haul of hundreds... its claims like ' yo check out this trashbag full of 2000 weilii' I find hard to imagine.... a pic will prove everything.. also I would like to say something to ATL hunters... dont be greedy, leave a few weilii behind so they can spread more spores and the mycelium stays healthy for future visits.. they are SO different from place to the next... in Stamets book, the weilii look different then what I found today, and 1 lawn over the weilii were similar but had different characteristics...and with different looks means different grow conditions/nutrients, I guess, so if you found a type native to your 10 mile area, it would do well in the same area... I think it evolves as it moves on. I shoulda printed the weilii on my lawn( and I will next time I find some) to see if they can and will colonize a 15 year old lawn..

I really would like some kind of consensus on whether these are weilli or not. I think 2X's objectivity was compromised when he spent so much time reading about them. He even started to eat some of them even though we hadn't even taken a spore print yet. If I don't get some kind of in this thread, I'll make another thread just to get these identified. The bruising does not seem typical. The spores don't appear purple, they seem to be more of a rusty brown (to me) {rant} If weilli had the ability to draw people in by cosmic vibrations, then why was the species only recently discovered? I don't believe that any mushroom has the ability to affect a person (without actual ingestion, of course) Keep in mind these things about your -We were in the same neighborhood the day before, and it was you who wanted to go to the next spot -You're method is to drive around in a car looking out the window... and you said advice to get out of the car and look around on foot was supplied by narcotics agents. -You ignored my advice that weilli live under certain conditions and that you by targeting the habitats they live in, you are more likely to find them! We had spent hours and hours of driving around random neighborhoods and all it took was 10 minutes of applied knowledge to find the ellusive species. And as I always try to impress, knowledge=power... any misinformation is dangerous so remain objective if you can. {rant}

keep in mind who was driving for hours and hours! , BTW, the prints are in, clearly not as dark as you say, purple and dark, nothing like a cube(but similar) * also, you forgot to mention the 'rusty' spores, were from another mushrooms that had dropped spores on its cap that you rubbed off with a bit of water... JUST like the cubes we found, it stained them BLACK... did you not consider this? the actuall spores they dropped( and not the ones you rubed off the cap) were the right color. the bruising may not be 'typical' but how do we know what typical is this was the first find... they bruised within 15 minutes( although it was VERY small areas that bruised ) and also the spore prints confirm it. who knows, I myself wonder why they bruised this way, but anyone will tell you they are weilii( how can you deny that smell, even though we have never smelt it, you KNEW the smell as well as I I will find out in a few weeks when I trip, when are you goona try them?...

I found one weilii yesterday in one of my patches... something destroyed the patch, all the grass is dead and torn up in 75% of it. Bad times. Oh well time to find more patches

I saw alot of dead grass patches on some of the lawns... I am not sure if fungus caused this... what do you mean by 'torn up'
just an update, I munched a large weilii cap to test if they were potent and here is my report: it was .6 gram dry and I tripped like I had eaten 1.5gdry cubes( not tripping hard, but deff. feeable and altered)...... so they are about 2x as potent as cubes.

I couldn't deny the smell. In fact, I thought that the smell was the most convincing attribute.
I'm glad they are active. Should we keep looking for spots, or should we just keep the weilli patch e have now and harvest at every turn.

Do you ever do Cubes? If so, do you ever get visuals from them? Compared to a cube trip how do they fare?
Gumby tells me Weilii's are like 3 times more potent than Cubes.

for me, weilii produces some really good visuals in larger doses...never seen any documented evidence sayin that weilii are more potent than cubes, but my body tells me that weilii has the upperhand.

Hey,
Dr. Weil pronounces it "while", so is it like Wile. E. Coyote? His web site is at: http://www.drweilselfhealing.com/ where he has an audio introduction and pronounces his name. Cool guy, really into holistic health, natural medicine, natural healing. Quite an honor to have such a wonderful shroom named after yourself, IMHO.
Peace
