These were all fruiting as one clump. I broke them apart as I was pulling them up. And there were a bunch more like this

Just trying to keep things relevant here, folks.  I don't see how deer mushrooms and wine caps have anything to do with official Georgia actives other than you found them while hunting actives. Obviously the majority doesn't give a shit so I'll refrain. Let's chill like mental said. Sorry to all

Hunting in these tall grasses for voids is a lot like what I'd imagine hunting for cyans/azures along the pnw coast would be like. Really have to slow way down and look carefully. Enjoy it more than just picking from mulch.


Think the ticks must hang around the tops of some the longer shoots. This is the third time i've found one on my neck walking through here. Also found a pile of some animal's guts with no other noticeable remains

Depending On The Size Of The Guts, I'd Say Could Be A Rat. I Found A Rat That Had Been Bitten In Half, All That Was There Was The Front Half Of The Body, With Guts Still Hanging Out. No Back Legs, Butt, Or Tail. I Figured It Must've Been A Hawk Or Something, To Be Able To Even See A Rat In That Tall Grass

whatever it is it kills like a surgeon. it left literally no other trace of the animal outside of its innards. not even any fur.
