dangit im finding all these "look-a-likes" (to my eye) that even darken but none of them with that trademark blue, so theyre 99% not it right? if they show no blue? guess ill have to try to be first next year. those things are tiny, is that the biggest that set of fruits will get or they still have a little room to swell up if it were prime conditions?

When I found them here in better conditions during the spring, they grew much larger. These pictured might grow a little more but probably not much. Likely a result of cooler weather/ wind. They fruit out in the open where they're exposed to these things. I started covering them up with debris recently and thats helped.

I haven't been able to much hunting at all.  Should be back at it in a few more months once spring time kicks back in.

well all im finding are some almost convincing gigantic mycena, those damn blue-ish green-ish gilled hypholoma, assorted cortinarious, and prbly gallerina i think, the stem exhibits bluing/greening right? but the caps and gills are way too orange/rusty brown

i am finding hella non actives and what i think is a lil patch of some baby woodchip gymns, aside from that im getting one of those strong feelings/hunches that if some of you fungal finding wizards got out there ud be able to post some inspirational pics for the rest of us ; )
