This was after striking out at my other spots too. Decided to stop here on whim mostly to poke around for any early morels.

And gzz on the home patch. I neglected my lil project and let all the chips get washed away

New spot, in atlanta proper. Just keep checking different parks along same river lol. Wish I couldve gotten more habitat shots but it was out in public park. There were thick clusters fruiting from a half buried box elder trunk. I'll be sure snap some better shots next time i return at a more opportune time.

Man i'm having luck in all the spots i checked out during the winter months. These were in Gwinnett in floodplain area of park I'd been looking after having found them fruiting from the landscaping. 

Tiny pin fruiting from decaying log

Debris piles in open field along side floodplain

Shout out to the georgians that found and posted finds of these before me (Doc G/ Breeg). Wouldn't have even bothered to look for em around here otherwise.

Floodplains with lotsa boxelder is the formula for success guys :thumbup:

Wow Evly! Great finds, those things are much smaller than I thought!

I went out today to a few parks in Dekalb county. Found a ton of box elders along some creeks with debris piles built up. I gotta go back during the week when it's less crowded and check at a slower pace.
