Nice one Peachy007!
I was going to start one a few days ago but my internet connection was soo slow i gave up. Here's a few from my first foray into cubes and cyans, from just north of your loc.
I made some decent spore prints from these.

yeah rad! i hope ive started this off properly
SO TODAY WAS MY SECOND EVER HUNT / ADVENTURE!!
Went out today just to put eyes on where i discovered recently. we've had a little more rain and it was slightly hotter.
results were much nicer though with some really nice sized gold caps about.
Pretty sure I'm nailing the cyans too but there was one I'm not really sure about, ill circle it in red.
Im spore printing them atm as you can see and will start the dehydrator up soon. how long can i leave them spore print for before putting in the dehydrator?!?!
AM NOT EATING ANYTHING UNTIL CONFIRMED!! thanks for all the help and look forward to learning more as this adventure continues!!
Also saw a lot of these but wasnt sure so i left them to be. Small about 1.4cm across.

I also found a few little cubes today in an unusual spot up in the mountains and also some Panaeolus papilionaceus, which i think is what you have circled and also in that last photo.

Am actually SO excited. Thanks for verifying and I ditched the pan paps shortly after the post and some research. The rest are in dehydrator and I will weigh them once dried. So stoked. Early season and on already!!!

Thanks for the new thread Peachy!
I find that 24 hours in the food hydrater is perfect. Mine has 3 settings and I go with the middle setting. After that I put the batch through the coffee grinder and glass jar it (sealed very tight) with date and weight on jar. I store in a cool dark location.
I find it is a good idea to have them jarred in the weight that you want to dose in one session. So if there is 2 of you and you want to have 2g each you jar 4g. That way you are not constantly opening a bulk jar and are able to preserve potency for longer. If you are microdosing have a jar specifically for MDing.
Enjoy your hunting!

With the rain, high temps and high humidity there is no better time than this weekend in your region in my opinion. Quote:

Hello, I was wondering if anyone could give me some advice! Is it best to go hunting in complete bush (no tracks, further from the roads etc.), or is sticking to well-known tracks/fire trails a viable option? I have been sticking to relatively popular bush walks with no luck so I was wondering if I'd have more luck somewhere off the beaten path. Thanks!

From what I have heard, and I'm a complete noon myself, cow pastures hold the best hope for Psilocybe Cubensis. One of the more recognisable shrooms.

You are looking for cow dung for the most common summer varieties. Unfortunately it’s tricky because unless you own a property with cattle or know someone who does it’s hard to hunt without trespassing. The best way in my opinion is if you know what your looking for a pair of binoculars are great because P Cubensis (Gold Tops) can be seen from roadways. If you can see them in the paddocks go visit the farmer and ask if he or she minds you looking around for field mushrooms. Farmers in the north of NSW are pretty clued on and will know exactly what you are after. You’ll either get a yes or no answer but it’s better than trespassing. They may sell free range eggs so it might also be worth offering to buy a few dozen to kick off the conversation.

I’ve been too busy to hunt this summer but hopefully soon. Last feb was when I found pan cyans in the hunter valley. Maybe after this next lot of rain I’ll take a trek.

Had a quick look along a fence line today up north and only found 3 worth collecting but happy to find any really. One of them seemed to turn a vivid blue almost instantly when i cut the stem butt off clean. Photos dont quite show it well but i was surprised at the quickness.

Lots of rain around the hunter recently. I'm new to hunting, is it too early in the season to find some in the right places?
