it's important to define god as the personal, omnipotent creator of the abrahamic religions.

that is the 'god' in which athiests opt not to believe. many people understand god to be something else. my personal opinion on the matter is that 'god' means the personal creator figure. the tao, or the dharma, or ultimate reality, or whatever you wish to call whatever it is, is not 'god' and should not be called 'god'. a god is a personal figure.

i find belief in the abrahamic god to be ludicrous. here we have a completely unnecessary belief for which there is no evidence. there is nothing to support the notion that god exists, and the existance of god is not required to explain anything in this world. how can one believe in such a thing? why? because you need your imaginary friend to be the biggest badass in the universe? come on... it's ridiculous.

The problem with your assertion is that even within the Abrahamic tradition there has long been disagreement about the nature of God. The Gnostic Christians, for instance, have a transcendent view of God which is very much aligned with the ultimate reality view. Same with the Sufi Muslims. Even in Judaism, the Kaballah tradition has a very sophisticated and mystical understanding of God.

in hinduism God has a personal aspect and an impersonal aspect, he (it) is both the impersonal ultimate reality and the entirely personal "I" ever standing before you.

I believe the image of "God" as a singular person, place or thing is WRONG.

God is everything You, me the computer I'm typing on....everything that has energy is God.

We have evolved ourself into the forms we have today. We are the masters of our own destiny. Giving control of your life to an imaginary "God figure" is wrong.

Accept responsibility for the world you have created for yourself.

If you have a lot of stress or difficulties in your life....make the proper changes to correct the problem. Wishing(praying) for Gods help in managing your life is a waste of time.

believing in a singular god to me feels wrong. even thinking to the bible and the ten commandments saying not to "put any gods before me". this gives reason to say that there is more than one god, but he is selfish and wants all the credit for everything. a god like that is nothing to believe in.
