Which is a nice sentence, but what kind of information could you gather from counting the fruits, you collected?
The only thing I can think of, is the number and weight of fruits and therefore an overview of the differences appearing from year to year.

Counting fruits as a habit referring to accuracy in the hope of encouraging others to be as accurate as you, when it comes to the "scientific" dealing with mushrooms? Is that what you meant?

Again, no arguing intended. Just the interest for your motivation

We were in lynnwood this weekend and i suggested we walk by a yard i've collected from in the past. As i look over the hedge into this yard i immediately spot a very massive cluster of cyans, all dug up and thrown about. The owner had dug through the patch to get to a water pipe a foot below the surface. There were clumps of mushrooms and mycelium everywhere so we start collecting what we can. At this time the owner came out to get his mail and sees us in his yard, he says "what the hell are you doing" to which my bro replies "picking mushrooms, you got a hot spot in your yard". The guy was actually pissed cuz he thought we were trampling his water pipes, but i assured we were careful not to step on anything. He saw the mushrooms in my container and asked if we found some psilocybes, I said "yeah" and showed him the bluing stems. At this point he realized his water pipe was fine and he completely changed his attitude, he began to tell us he dumps loads of chips nearby and suggested we search there. I mentioned that we would really like to gather some mycelium from his yard if he didn't mind so we could start our own patches and not go onto strangers property anymore. To this he replied "hold on" and got us a box and began to shovel more mycelium into it for us. My bro and I were very appreciative to him and he was glad to help us once he realized we were up to no harm. We walked back to the car laughing the whole way.

Man that IS the best story ever.  What a cool dude.  I havent had even close to the kind of luck you have had, and I have spent dozens and dozens and dozens of hours hunting   BUT, at least I have found a couple patches.  I wish I had your luck, cause Ill tell ya what, Im def not lazy, and def not blind.

Went back to the ocean, man what a stinker. Came upon a whole 3 azzies in 4 hours in the rain and wind. BUT! I think i found a King Bolete, anyone give me a positive ID? BIG,  ~8" Brownish white cap, white meat, ~7" White to brown speckled stem, yellow-greenish sponge gills, with some random 1/8"-1/2" holes through out. yeah i already knew where he was talking about, but that area is always being disturbed from the constant dumping and removal of chips by trucks and bulldozers.

Orange peels serve as a natrual antifungal.  It's very possible the caretaker uses them for just that purpose, and thus no fungus.

You're best bet is to get a job in parks and rec, then work your way up until you have the ability to rewrite procedures.
