Arcata has a pretty good season. I passed through while hitchin last december and found a small patch while there. It seems like everyone and their wifes cousin knows about cyans tho. Even if they dont know how to pick em. I had a officer approach me and ask if i was picking Psilocybe Cyanescens. He knew the Latin name. fortunately i had a box of honeys and kings at that time. Just do urban hunting in Arcata theres plenty of ground to cover.

Redwood park is one of the most amazing city parks ive been to. There are some good trailks to walk.  its on 14th and H st. i believe. Near the 101 on ramps and college.

Congrats turtle! Sure is a great feeling. Im somewhere close after checkin my patch this morn. Pulled in 90 more fresh grams this morn. I feel truly blessed by the mushroom gods this year. I cannot check my patch without discovering a new part of the patch or a a part that is fruiting that wasnt previously. The conditions here in PDX have been great the last few days. The temperature drop from the clear skies mixed with a few hours of rain a day have stimulated my patch to flush HARD. heres some pinners to look at.  sorry about the angles and blurryness on a few. I had to practically play twister OVER my patch so i didnt squash any and could still get a picture.

That's probably because of the leaves lying over them, which seems to be the case, due to the long stems.

This happens to me all the time. It's very nice to detect some more fruits, right when you thought you've harvested all the fruits you planed on taking with you.

The leaves are definately playing a role in finding new parts but there a places that i check and come back a day or two later to find a nice big flush comin in. The longs stems are definately cause of the leaves,  the spots were there were 10 inches of leaves are where i found those pins. They are gonna be beauties.:mushroom2::thumbup:

There are Mushrooms everywhere!

As for that park located on sand point that everyone seems to rape..Please stop lol. Let the babies grow a little, stop digging up mycelium, there are plenty for everyone.

One good thing about that park is that so many people pay attention to that main wood chip area that they just leave the rest of the park unpicked. :penis:

I just got to the portland area (close to Gresham.)I can't picture any cyans growing here...but obviously they are. Should I be looking for any place that has wood ships? Or do cyans have to have a special mixture of wood chips and other debris? Right now it's raining...VERY hard. What if the Cyans drown before I find them:(

Those were some gnarly baeos. Too bad they were so far gone.

Here are some hail-bruised cyans I found today, looking like they were almost shot with airsoft pellets or something:

What a gnarly couple of storms we've had the last two days.

Sooo, last year, me and a friend went to this local park to see if there were some cyans growing there. To our dissapointment, there was nothing there. The habitat and substrate was absolutely perfect too?? Hmmm...

Then today when me and my rommie went out to hunt, I thought of this park again. "Maybe they are growing there now" i thought to myself.....

On our way to hunt, we run into a fabulous rainbow

we get to the park, and as soon as i open my car door, i immediately see two indicator species. A gallerina and those white stemed black capped transparrent looking ones. We begin walking into the park. We are not in the park longer than 2 minutes when.....

:mushroomgrow: :mushroomgrow: :mushroomgrow: :mushroomgrow: :mushroomgrow: :mushroom2: :omgawesome:

the haul...and there is still about double that left there to grow more :super:

cleaned, strained, layed out to dry...

The mushroom God's have smiled upon me today, and I am very grateful  :vaped:
