Hey everyone havent posted in a  while. Got my internet hooked up at my new spot. anyway wanted to show my finds. . I stared finding them around the end of September to now. seems people have ran in to some of my patches in the king county area. I just wanna say its cool to take some but leave the pins and if your gonna rape the patch, take the whole mushroom not just the Cap. I been seeing a lot of left over patch raping and they leave nothing but half stems around.... anyway here are my pics. happy hunting. sorry some pics are unside down and its from my phone thanks

If you are just finding stems then it could be slugs and bugs. I have seen many cyan and baeo stems that were left bare by sluggies.

Are you sure it was people? I couldn't imagine people pulling caps off of cyans and putting them in a bag.

What a mess.

Bummer about your patches though. At least you still have plenty....

@The Balance, how do you dry them in the oven?

What up Spiffy?
Its easy man.
Set the oven to bake at the lowest temp.
Mine goes down to 170 deg.
Put all your mush on the racks and dry/bake with the door open a little.
Smells like a bakery with a hint of earthiness.
They'll be cracker dry in a matter of hours usually.

There you have it: Bread from Heaven.

Save an Omer for the generations so they know WTF!

thats how i did mine balance...... mine were pretty big and did take a good few hours.  Second time round i cut the caps into quarters and half's which sped things up a bit

Question guys: a lot of the caps that have opened up are  nickel-quarter sized with the biggest few being the size of a half dollar.  This seems a little small for me considering many of the caps are flattening out pretty nice but still only about quarter sized. maybe its just a patch with small fruits? or will they continue to expand even after flattening? a lot of them are at a similar stage to the one in the picture(cap is size of a quarter for reference)-some flatter but smaller? what is an average Fully mature Cyans cap size from experience? im trying to get a good idea of when the best time to harvest them would be while keeping a good balance of size and potency.

I understand the nature of Mushrooms makes this hard to answer but say what you can.

I've actually watched people in Seattle cut only the caps off with scissors.

I talked to one guy who I saw doing it and he wasn't even keeping the caps. He was going around placing caps in wood chip beds that didn't have cyans. He called it "spore printing" the wood chips.

I mean, its great he's trying to start new patches but no need to let the stems go to waste. I hung out with him for an hour and collected all the stems he was going to just leave behind.

Found a new patch, down the road from my place.

I thought, at first, that these were P. cyanofibrillosa, but they didn't bruise, so I've concluded they must be a strange (to me) Hypholoma.

They do look like Galerina. The one of the left has a psilocybe lookin stem though but the dimple in the center of the front most one does make me concerned.

By the way solved my problem with harvesting (above post) and figured out they were ready after closer examination. the fruits from this patch are generally pretty small. got 106 mushrooms for a total of 130 fresh grams. and i got 5x that on the way! One portion of the patch has 8-9 inches of leaves causing pins with completely closed caps to have 3-5 inch stems! what a Good day! pics soon

Went out to the mouth of the columbia yesterday. It was a raging storm pretty much ll day. as soon as i made it over the coast range there were very high winds and thick rain.
none the less i had an amazing time with the azuresences. hunting in 40+mph winds and torential rain is otherworldly. but it forces you to stay super low to the ground to avaid being blown away and toatily soaked.
quite the sureal stormy day :tripping:
heres some pics :mushroomgrow:

Good thing for all that rain yesterday! Found 2 new patches today, relatively small but I still managed to collect about 70g wet, which isn't too bad. Probably another 100 or so pins that I left, but hopefully with another day or two of rain they'll be ready for picking!
