found my first cyans of the season today!

i picked about 50. sampled a couple. om nom nom.

i had to pick some small guys because they were viewable from the main trail.
didn't want them to give away the fact that there's over a hundred pins hiding very nearby.

prayin for rain...i'll probably go mist them down tomorrow. didn't come prepared.
and of course the batteries in my camera died a few minutes before i found them! i'll get some pics of the pins up soon.

Thought I'd mention that the Seattle Shroomerite hunters group is meeting up today. You can join the mailing list here: http://www.shroomery.org/forums/pmlistjoin.php?list=74

Let the fun begin, and remember to practice sustainable and respectful hunting!  :shroompick:

seriously, does he think people are going to show him where to find cyans or something? its more productive to hunt cyans separately anyways, they are usually spread out, 10 guys searching 1 chip bed at a time isnt going to be productive in any manner.

My suspicion is that BlimyGrimey(though I doubt the badge would be present) could have probably find cubes around Vostok Station, Antarctica, on 21 July 1983.(temp was-128.6 °F (-89.2 °C))

I often ponder just how many mushrooms I don't see everyday.  I bet for every 1 I see, there's probably 1000 more don't.

I wonder the same thing, especially in a patch where you have to really look to find em

Is that a compliment or an insult? I'm not quite sure how to take that.

You are correct that the badge wouldn't be present, I'm not a cop. I just think that meeting up with people who don't truly know to hunt for illegal mushrooms isn't the wisest idea. If there are any cops from the Seattle area that frequent this board then I'm quite sure this is the opportunity they have been waiting for.

Though, in honesty I doubt any cops will show up to the gathering but it is a possibility.

:sorry: Meant neither complaint nor insult, simply that I didn't believe you were a cop, and that you would seem to be a very experienced hunter. ( Hence finding a tropical mushroom, at the coldest place and time in recorded history.
No offense intended, sorry if it came across that way.

No worries.

I never called it a complaint. I asked if it was a compliment, which is what I thought it was.

My roommate who was reading the post over my shoulder said he thought it was an insult. Made me think I was somehow reading the post wrong or something. I really should just start going by my own logic and ignoring my roommates.

Anyways, I'd be willing to meet local shroomerites but only a select few that have proven themselves to actually have an interest in mushrooms and aren't just asking for me to show them where Psilocybes grow so they can get high. I've learned that showing people patches and expecting them to respect them is often a bad idea. I would, however, enjoying having someone to hunt for new patches with when my usual friends are too busy to go hunting. Lately, everyone has been to busy with school/work to go hunting so I haven't had the motivation to hunt yet this season.

Also, only the first line of my previous post was directed at you. The rest was just my thoughts on an "anyone can join up" hunting type gathering. Just so you know that I'm not trying to aim my disapproval at you.
