The hilarity of the atheist
    #11021930 -

I just find it funny that those who don't believe in any God whatsoever spend their lives failing to disprove other religions

Not only that, but they tear down Christians that try to force their beliefs upon others, yet, everytime I look, they're trying to force their beliefs (or lack thereof) on THEM...

And to this day, I've only heard ONE good reason for someone NOT to believe in God (or any other deity, for that matter)...excuses like "If there is a God, then how come we got AIDS?" or "If God exists, then why do people die?", bulls***t for the most part...if a doctor chooses not to perform open heart surgery, I suppose that means *gasp*...HE DOESN'T EXIST!!!

The only acceptable reason for not believing is *ding ding ding* "Because I choose not to"...just accept it for what it is and stop trying to "recruit"; especially considering how you claim to have no following to promote...unless ur a nihilist, stop being so closed-minded & claiming with certainty that ANYTHING can be explained(specifically in reference to materialism) cause U sure as hell wont be one to explain any of it!

It's one thing to simply enjoy a style of life that one enjoys, but it's another thing altogether to refer to another person's choice as "wrong" or to rationalize their behavior as being pathological or resulting from some sort of inadequacy or failing so as to create a sense of superiority or separation as yet another projection of a personal fear or control issue.

You can't handle one criticism of your beliefs, yet you dish it out pretty well. :rofl2:

If there is no god, why do we have so many churches?

I just find it funny that people still make threads like yours and get away with it.

what is the one good reason you have heard denying the existence of any god or deity? just curious.  I am not one to argue with the beliefs of others =) everyone is entitled.

Is this thread about what you find funny or about your inability to grok the concept of lack of evidence?

What I can also get a bit upset about is people who flaunt whatever beliefs while attacking the beliefs of others with neither good reasoning nor any sense of compassion.

Many atheists and theists alike fit that description. One doesn't have to take an exam to become either, so new recruits can start shouting at their 'opponents' from day one.

--Edit - hehe, wouw, things move fast in this forum, I thought I was the first to answer. Guess not!!

What evidence have you heard supporting the existence of any god or deity? Just curious.

I am an atheist.  I don't believe in forcing any beliefs on anybody unless they ask for it.  But I like to laugh at religious people.  None of us are getting out of here alive.  I also don't believe in war and many wars are started by religion.
One thing that annoys me about Christians is how they are obsessed with Jesus.  Its all about Jesus this and that, because he is a personable character.  I'm down if you believe in god, but Jesus is just the poster child of Christianity used to try to attract people.

Theists are fucking stupid and emotionally dependent on an invented theology in order to cope with their death anxiety; when they argue without evidence, it just makes them look even more foolish, but when an atheist attacks a theist's beliefs, well, that's just completely expected, isn't it?

It's a question, not an argument. The little "?" should tip you off.

well vibes, I'm not really up to discuss my beliefs with anyone on here, it always ends with some stupid conversation about others bashing beliefs.  I was just taking an excerpt from blahs comment and asking what it was that he felt was a good argument against the belief in god.

See   Good Vibes to all, everyone is entitled to their own beliefs.  Follow your own path

No, I am in my office. What's your point? Are questions not allowed in philosophy forums? Oh no, that is two questions, I am in trouble now. You asked a question, too. OMG, it's anarchy.
