Despite all the recent rain I'm still only finding subs in the dampest of places, like under bushes and shrubs, nothing at all out in the open, even though there's plenty of other species like galerina and L.Ceres. This season has been the most difficult in Melb suburbs that I've seen since I started hunting, but now winter is here I'd expect it to pick up a bit more.

A Huge and warm Thank you to Painkiller!
Didn't find heaps but I was looking a little late in the day. Early bird gets the worm.
It was enough for one solid evening of healing though! I feel so much better now.
Took a few spore prints but throughout the day I was munching on one or two here and there before I got home and took my real dose.
One of those bastards was insanely strong, like from just one shrooms I got pretty strong results. I understand why y'all powder and homogenised for accuracy.
I just wish that was one of the ones I have spore printed.

Went hunting again today because that's what I do.

I was begining to think that the trees weren't close enough to each other where I was to provide adequate shade, then I came across these two mushrooms:



Shortly after my hunting buddy began to find them right near where I found my first two.

This was the biggest cluster we found:



Overall we found about close to 200 grams of fresh mushrooms in only about an hour and a half.

Especially in parks, where the mushrooms can be small, it's so good to have another person to help find them. The company is also nice.

Went for a drive today to a new spot far north east Melbourne. After a 20 minute walk from my car I came across upwards of ~200g. Was a very good day and now the process of drying them all haha

I’ve noticed that if the conditions are right for subs they are like a weed and will grow more rampant than many other mushrooms. Apart from Leratiomyces Ceres of course

Nice hauls everyone! I'm definitely more than a little bit jealous. :unbelievable:
I've been out quite a few times now and have managed to find a couple of different spots.. but they've pretty much all been baby patches with 2 or three subs, up to maybe 15 medium sized ones.

I would definitely appreciate any PM's with slightly more specific tips for finding these bigger patches, if anyone is willing to share. :grin:
