I wonder if any of the Victorian season veterans can shed any light on this?!

Does a previous good season affect the next? Do milder summers make for greater volume in the winter? etc etc :confused:

It's still early days, only March 19... saw subs starting to fruit in Melbourne around mid April last year.

All this rain is making me very excited for the season! Still definitely too hot I believe, but went for a squizz today and saw some inactives popping up. Looking good guys!

Once the humidity goes and temps drop it will be game on. I have a feeling in my bones 1-2 weeks. Nice to have all this rain to moisten up the ground firt.

Definitely feels like it's going to be a good picking season. As your right, just need a solid couple of days of cool frosty nights and morning. Along with cooler day temperatures to get them active subs going.🙃

love this time of the year getting out there trekking through bushland. The rain was pretty sweet for us this week might have a peek around this weekend, keen to start seeing some more photos soon!  :robindance:

Went for a short bike ride around the inner south eastern suburbs this morning. wasn't expecting to find anything, though to my surprise came across a small sub patch. Didn't think they'd be growing out of the drier more exposed woodchip bed spots so early on. Didn't pick any, was in a very public place in front of many people so I had to be quick with the photo.

Cant wait to check out the hills soon!
