This wait is getting rediculous. I’m happy I have deer hunting to distract me from the agony. Last year my first flush was April 4 but that’s just when I found it. I’m sure it had flushed earlier in several spots. Stevo I’m sure you will be checking that spot you got the early flush last year. Good luck everyone.

i have two beds and a tub in my yard. got curious about three weeks ago to see if there was any action just under the surface leaves.

both beds had flourishing myc that woke up some weeks before i took a look. i thought the tub would be dead since i left it outside with the sides of the tub unprotected during that time in late DEC when we had lows of -5F, -3F, -1F, 0 (twice), 1F, and a handful of other single digit lows. checked out the tub last night and it certainly isn't dead. there were quite a few pieces of wood around the outside that had blue myc stains on them where the myc died in that cold snap, but the center isn't dead and the myc is stirring.

we're in the home stretch to start of the season in central VA. it's been wet for at least three weeks straight and the drought is over. i would think something should be stirring down in GA by now.

the wife and i are going to take a look at our wild ovoid spots this coming weekend even though i don't expect to see anything yet. after being out of action from mid-may until about four weeks ago, i just need to get in the woods.

Cool man, glad to hear that you're geared up and healed! I always say that,a walk in the woods without finding anything you're looking for, is still a walk in the woods. It heals where other treatments fail.

One note to anyone going out there...the warm temps have already woke up the ticks...both my girlfriend and nephew have had them on them.....doesn't sound good for the peak months.

i JUST NOW pulled a tick off of my chest! it was just walking around and not attached, thankfully. i wrote the date on a pc of paper and took a pic in case anyone didn't believe me lol. terrible sign of things to come like you said.

yes, i'm mostly healed after two surgeries in the last six months. feels good and thanks, man. i agree about the walk in the woods and it will be my first since last May; i can't wait!

Yeah relic, I could use a therapeutic woods walk myself. Nothing at known GA spots as of two weekends ago, but I got a good feeling. Bradford pear and other trees are in bloom. Really excited to hunt some morels this spring too.

TICK PREVENTION TIPS - 1. Wear light-colored clothing 2 spot them easier. 2. Tuck pant legs into socks, shirt n/2 pants & if you can stand it - wear long sleeve shirts. 3. Spray tick repellent thicker in these areas. 4. Check yourself periodically & do a thorough inspection b/4 entering home. 5. Remove clothing, wash in highest temp. & inspect yourself thoroughly again b/4 taking a shower.

I've always used Peppermint, or any mint leaves are way better rub them directly on your skin. They will not fuck you.

The Alcohol has 2 purposes - 1. Disinfects area where the tick bites. 2. Kills the little fucker effectively while searching for others.

Old-school trick

I got those tick removers last yr. that spins them out - takes 4-ever & found out - spinning finger around them does the same thing but takes just as long.

FYI - Those "TIPS" apply 2 the dreaded "CHIGGERS!!!"

All my life I was warned of these BUT had NEVER encountered them until 3 yrs ago nor had my husband. NO 1 had EVER seen that bad of a case b/4. Personally, I WOULD NEVER wish that on ANYONE, EVER - those fuckers are spawns straight from HELL!!!
