I'm going to guess southern NJ that flows in the Delaware.
Further south, tidal areas get minimal, if any, love. It's the Piedmont and even more than that, areas closer to the Appalachians.
Also look for box elders. A site on maples in NJ says, consistent with what I said before:
Box-elder Acer negundo
(Ash-leaved Maple) Native to the USA (including Northern New Jersey) but prefers deeper valley soils not found in the coastal gravel plains of South Jersey. Seeds fairly readily and often found on waste land and marginal habitats where it has spread from nearby garden trees. Flowers April to May. A medium-sized, spreading tree with rather unusual leaves for a maple.

Also, look for flood plains with bends where creeks are likely to dump a lot of hardwood debris. Those involve looking a lot at more local maps.
Furthermore, consider learning a lot about areas near you that you explore and memorize readily. If access is easy, you can spend time exploring habitat that you might otherwise spend driving across the state.

Coastal plain isn’t good. Piedmont is where it’s at

Follow the piedmont area on the map, basically all of my finds are from that strip of land

You guys should keep things vague. In Oregon our most famous and reliable spots for P. azurescens are overrun, it’s getting to where any significant finds are on private land, particularly difficult to reach locations, before, or after the prime season. I know ovoids are a bit less picky and are spreading in the wild rather than only really thriving in a limited geographic region and specific habitat, but that doesn’t mean that your favorite spot could not become deluged with mushroom tourists each year, if the name becomes too well known.

I familiar with both east coast areas and PNW stomping grounds and trust me I work to keep things vague. Certain folks here inadvertently tipped me off to very specific creeks, but I really resist specificity.
The Piedmont, BTW, is a huge region where many millions live.

River banks near parks or dams medium to large size, river debris mixed with man made chips, under or near knotweed in pa, in md more in river slash, damp embankments 10 to 100 yards from the banks of large rivers...nearby dump areas, nearby lumber yards....
