I believe ovoids have been found in that part of SC, or they should be there to some extent because they've been found further south in GA. They've definitely found caerulescens in the foothills. I believe the ovoids were found in the city of Greenville, growing from mulch, but I can't remember, just something I think I saw while skimming through old posts. I'm on the coast and I found copious amounts of boletes and chants yesterday while walking through the woods.

No fruits (yet) but I found a lot of healthy mycelia in my usual Spring hunting spots. Will be coming back to look the next few days !

I'm not seeing fruits either, just myc. I wanted to throw out how I make my koolaid and see if others do it like me. I'll take 150-175 grams fresh ovoid and cover with lemon juice and let sit for at least 30 min agitating every few minutes ( an hour if I'm not rushed). It will turn a purplish/black color. I will boil between 1 and 2 quarts of water. Once the water boils I add the ovoids and the lemon juice and return to a boil. At this point let cool and stir for a few minutes. Strain well. I'll make this into a gallon of kool-aid using double sugar and 3 flavor packs per gallon instead of two. perfect for preserving the fresh effects of ovoids if frozen. tastes  good too
edit: potency can be increased but this is a fairly good strength for 10  fluid ounce doses IMO especially for noobs

Still haven't seen any signs from my ovoids yet but my cyans are popping. Have been for a couple days. Maybe not gonna be a fall fruiter. Oh well, will see it still isn't Halloween which seems to be the official day for me.

I have been  to a few of my little spots on my way to work but didn't see anything I am going to check the 1 big spot I know of tomorrow maybe Wednesday hopefully I will find some

Found a monster patch of cyanescens with much more 2 come !!!!! Happy Halloween!!!! Filled my hat the first time and had 2 come back and fill another box! No worries about over picking though!! More than I could ever pick !!!!

I just realized its November 1 and the trees have barely started to change color. Usually when I'm finding fall ovoids, they are buried under fallen leaves.

Global warming is really ramping up. The tree were in bloom in mid February and still have their leaves at the beginning of November.

It's been raining on and off here for about a week... With highs in 50-60°F during the day and going down to mid 30s at night. Today it finally warmed up to 75°F, partly cloudy, 95% relative humidity... Yet still nothing ):

I feel like they won't be fruiting this fall until you start seeing snow on the ground, if they fruit at all.  Keep your fingers crossed.
