Do you guys think ovoids stop producing cause it gets too hot, or because it's spent its energy and it goes back to looking for new substrate?

They don't like hot temps....when it stays around 85-90 for daytime highs, they quit producing.

Went out for a brief period today.  Found a few scattered about. 





I think we still have a month or so to go.  I agree with the comment earlier that even with the rain we've had it hasn't really soaked the ground to get things really rolling.  Need a good 2 day spring shower.

I think the bugs have a lot to do with it. Late in the season fruits just don't last very long.

I was thinking that as well. It's probably a mixture of all those factors, but temperature does seem to play a big role. I found a healthy cluster on the fourth of july.  That's still pretty close to the end of the season though.

I've only eaten em fresh two times.  Once just a single that was about the size of the third fruit in that pic caused just over threshold effects.  The other time was two; one the size of the first and one the size of the fourth with a thick, solid stem.  I was totally beat both times after 7-9 hours of hunting and driving...probably something like a level 2 that time, but as I said, I was fucking beat to death when I ate em.

The ones here are potent.  1g gets me near a level 3.  But on one occasion it was different.  My buddy and I ate a half a gram just to get a little buzz for playing some music and BAM!  full on level 3 approaching 4 for the both of us.  Idk what it was with those shrooms but I do remember them being early season ovoids.  But usually I eat 1 to 1.5 grams and get to level 3.

Man I wish my Ovoid spores would germinate. 2 different prints and I have not got germination yet. Hell my P. cyan. germinated in a few days.
