It is a totally meaningless feel-good statement to those that ascribe to Aramaic religions.

Well, If you are Obama's minister you would "God damn us" all, so I will take the blessing and not get offended. I think God Bless is the same as may the force be with you. So I say C.

Well since Satan isn't in the blessing business it would be Satan Damn You All, which is an awkward thing to say at your retirement farewell speech at the office, though many may wish they had the courage. :grin:



"God bless you all"

To me means:

"Remember all of us are blessed with the gift of life and the goodness bestowed upon us"

For me this is non-exclusive. All are blessed, some just have a messed-up way of dealing with the Gift that is Life.

All are blessed, some just have a messed-up way of dealing with the Gift that is Life.

This sounds like mushy feel-good nonsense that only a prosperous person could ever come up with.

Are those of us born in a poor country and condemned to a short life of abject misery, hunger, abuse, and hard work before death in late childhood from a horrible and painful disease also "blessed with a gift"?

I see it as a wish for good luck and good fortune. Simply a way of showing your gratitude/love/sympathy. When you think about it , it is THE less descriptive wish for good fortune. People don't want to think and make up something original like : Hope you win the lotto ! or Later man , wishing you to get laid soon!

God bless you just replaces it all oh-so-simply.
