Anyhoo, haven't been here in a while but i saw Blu's post so i decided to post my oldest monkey's rice recipie.
This makes 7 , 1/2 pints
1 cup rice
2 and 1/2 cup water
microwave for 5 min on HI power (to start a boil)
microwave for another 45min on MEDIUM power
Then mix with 1cup of verm.
No extra water is needed.
Then steam sterilize in pot for 1 hour.
This recipie works with ALL of the microwaves that my monkey has tried (4) . They were all different sizes. Just make sure to use the same power level.
Peace.

Thanks, brownie.
I believe in Mr. Grieves ! Also, everything in the above post is entirely fictional, like PC !

i just started this tek and i have a question, should this mixture of rice and verm be somewhat dry? once i started loading my jars i noticed that there wasnt much water content to it? is this normal? also as an added note i only got 6 jars from the recipe and i didnt pack them tight or anything.
by the way do you use a verm layer. thanks

Have you tried this without verm?
I pretty much cook the rice and put it into jars without verm and have not gone back since..

I don't know what else to say. There is no need to add moisture. Sometimes, if you get the water ratios off, there might be a TIIINY pool of water on the bottom of the rice, but that's insignificant. After the verm is mixed in it is steam sterilized, i.e. in a pot of boiling water for 1hr.
good luck and peace.

Ok, good question. My monkey used to use the 9er tek. He read that in 9er's instructions he did not cumble the cakes but used them whole.Which made his monkey brain sizzle with anticipation of a WHOLE cake of mycelium. He thought that he would be able to use the whole thing to spawn. Basicly, using the "cake" as spawn. BUT after innoculation, the mycelium had a really hard time growing on the inside of the cake. Even tho he took good care not to make it too compacted. After 100% colonization my monkey happily crumbled his cake to find big ol' lumps of uncolonized rice.In essence, a big lump of rice covered w/ mycelium.
So000000000oooooooooo...... that's my big story why my monkey don't use the 9er tek ,lol....... and why he think you should add some verm. Plus, mycelium doesn't have that much majik in it. It would be a nasty meal...
looks tasty tho...... :)
