DrBoomer, I run a house of hydro fan and it has worked perfectly for many months. Couple of key points:
1. Use it to pressurize the air in your vaporizer container, NOT to push air out of it. It stays dry that way. In other words, you’ll have two openings in the top of your vaporizer reservoir. One of them you will connect to the hose that goes to your tent and one you will cover with a fan that blows inward, which pressurized the air in the reservoir. Because that air is pressurized, it looks for an escape to equalize and that causes the air to flow through your hose into the tent.
2. Get a fan speed controller. I use the 80mm fan (not the 120mm fan), and have it turned all the way down to lowest setting. I found the higher I turn the fan up, the less fog I get. I mentioned that before and someone said they have the opposite experience so YMMV but having the speed controller is nice to fine tune things.
3. I found the less volume of air in your vaporizer chamber, the better. More air volume allows the vaporizer air to attach to the surfaces and turn back into liquid. You want as much fog to get into the tent as possible, not turn back to liquid. I started with a big reservoir but it didn’t work well for the above reason so I switched to using a tiny 5 gallon reservoir and it works much better. I use an automatic top off pump system to keep it full of water, feeding it from a separate dedicated water tank. And I find higher water levels in your fogger reservoir to be best for the same reason (less air space = less opportunity for the fog to condense on surfaces so you get more in the tent”
4. Larger hose is better. I run 4” dryer or HVAC duct. 6” would be great too. Use large reusable zip ties and HVAC duct flanges.

The re casing the Jambos does not seem to have helped. I’ll start again and see if I can find a better culture. It produces a fair number of pins in clusters, but the go very slow and most get to only about a 1/8-1/4 inch high!
I pretty much never worry about yield but I measured the Wild Coast and Bunnell.
From one myco quart into the substrate filling those 10x17 sterilelite stationary boxes the wild coast put out 20 grams and the Bunnell about 18. Is that “ok”?

That sounds very OK to me. I only do 1st flush and the best performing tubs are yielding 15-20g dry from 1 quart. Good tubs for me are 10-15g and they
would probably go up to 15-20g as well if I'd wait for a second flush.

I think I was greedy and went for three flushes with the Bunnel (but recall I lost 1/4 of the tray to trich surgery). I did two flushes with the Wild Coast and it is in there thinking about a third but looking tired. One flush is typical for me if I have more trays waiting to get into the fruiting chamber. I’m going to try your mono soon and see what that does - it would be nice not to have a three tray maximum due to space issues in the fruiting chamber …

I did sort of a sloppy version of your mono tub tek when I got ahead of myself with pan spawn…

This is Nec-D in one of those totes meant to slide under a bed - about 4-5 inches tall. Then I set a monotub upside down on the top to give it some headroom and something to draw FAE in from the poor seal along the edges and out through the long side holes …

Sounds totally fine. I think my highest yield was from about 500ml of grain spawned to about 500ml of substrate, the yield was 15g. Very very decent.

Beautiful fruits! Do you usually have a high tolerance?

Hindsight had a culture of Nec-D that he said was weak. They were really pretty fruits as well. He had a different culture of the same Nec-D that he said was wicked strong from around the same time. Sounded like they were superpans!

Hindsight, I assume those two cultures came from the same print, or no?

Razero, I hope your other culture makes up for these.

Potency issue for sure. I would need to eat 5g of these pan trops for a trip. Threw away all clones and jars of from this batch.

Ruawake - Yes same print. My friend regularly takes 4g of the white NecD fruits and trips well but not out of this world. He does 2g of the regular NecD fruits and has level 4-5 trips. I get Level 4 trips off the regular NecD fruits from just 1g. I have a low tolerance though. I assume it’s just different cultures. I grow them all the same way.

Hindsight, that's what I figured.

It's crazy how crucial the culture selection is, and it's somewhat just luck of the draw. I had a culture that only grew mutants, and I've seen Psilo experience the same thing. Now two documented cases of weak cultures.

Just goes to show how important it is to take as many transfers as you can in order to play the odds.

After a clone culture sectored out on agar, I took one of each and eventually fruited them. One of them wouldn't even form knots and was slow to colonize, while one of them ended up producing some monsters.

I'm sure it's a matter of time before I find an impotent culture as well.

Yup - you should see all the Natalensis tubs I grew all off of two prints. Many different cultures. 20-something tubs and insane variability between them all.

Hi JCM! Good to see you're back and hope that things become better soon.

I'm building my first JCM-style fruiting chamber and will be using it for some exotics in upcoming months, including a few Pan species. Really excited to go down this new path
