Panny said: Wild bird seed should work for Pans right? I tried using WBS once and the mycelium stalled. There was no moisture outside of the grains, so maybe it was too dry?
That's what I use, but I am OCD about removing the black sunflower seeds, and anything that floats after several hours of soaking gets drained off. You could be correct about the moisture level, my first WBS runs were too dry. I now prefer a 36 hour soak in cold water. I've soaked for as long as 48 hours, but it didn't make much difference. Maybe there were more burst grains when I soaked for 48, but they still worked.
I drain and rinse until the water is clear, and do this several times during the soak. If anyone has sprouted seeds for eating or juicing, treat the grains as if you were going to sprout them.
Once the soak time is up, I strain and drain any excess water, but I don't get the grain dry before loading into jars. It's still wet and sticks to your hand, the canning funnel, measuring cups, everything. Then I sterilize for 60 minutes at 15 psi, with a slow warm up.
This has been providing the ideal moisture level for me. Hope this helps and good luck!
What I do is hydrate them with boiling water in a closed home depot bucket for 58 mins.
I rinse the WBS and skim out the floating sunflower seeds, then pour out the water. Then I pour boiling water into the bucket and seal it with the lid. Then I strain and let the seeds sit on a flat surface for 30 mins. Since the water is hot it vaporizes kinda fast, so maybe I should let them sit for 5-10 mins instead of 30? Or maybe not at all... I might do both to test it.

Sorry psilo i First thought that the tray on the picture was the jambos. And I was thinking you easily get 5g dry of that. I dont think that the low pin formation and twisted grow on on the jambos is due to the spinosad but to Maybe you klima is a littel off. You wild Coast got that twistet look to. You mystery Coast looks very fin and really show of some fin characteristics Maybe you klima fits better for it. If you go back an look at My First post in here My First 2 grows allso throw off wierd twisted fruits. I have grown over 10 trays sins with the same clon with some mixed looks but No twisted. I dont know much about shroom growing i just look at what you Guys doing and try to copy. But If i was you i Will look at the klima and not the spinosad.

Sounds like you have some good avenues to test, and some faster techniques to get rid of the sunflower seeds. Keep us posted! I think you're on the right track.
I just updated one of my posts from a while back, regarding how I am using my cycle timers. If anyone is interested, it is here:

Adas … here are those cacti pics you were asking about. I’ve not been taking good care of them so they do not look prime - but I still admire them. There is a bridgesii penis cacti in there, over to the right of that some more bridgesii but in the normal form, also over to the right a San Pedro (oops I guess I cropped the bridgesii and San Pedro on the right out of the picture), some lophs in the big planter on the left and a smaller one on the right in front of the penis catus, and with one of the loph plantings some seedling active something or other, the crested trichocereus peruvianus … love that crazy beast! In the back log style with some big pups is a couple of mid cuts I got off eBay of “Non PC Ecuadorian - the seller said she lived in San Diego and back in the 60s family had brought cuttings back from Ecuador and planted them in the back garden - there is a forest of cacti 25-35 feet high back there. She said they are quite active.

The second flush on the wild coast was just as weird but worth the effort:

I added some new casing on it to see if that might help with producing more normal fruits.
I went the full Monty with the Jambo tray and scraped all the original casing off and applied a new layer. If it produces fruits normally I’ll be pretty confident it was the spinosad freaking it out. I actually blasted this surface with the sink sprayer till it was pure whit before applying a new casing:

The third flush of Bunnell was getting a bit thin but still probably put out a couple of trips…

Myco Smith your cacti look very happy. Those cacti of mine are just under a T—5 fluorescent light - I’m sure they would be happier under something stronger like a CMH. We have a long long dark winter and a short cool summer so my cacti don’t get natural sun very much. Some of the trichocereus are etiolated as a result.
Pan Tax:

(Some of those second flush wild coast fruits).
PS: in Less than 24 hours the Jambos are fluffing up into the new casing. Might get some normal fruits out of that tray yet!

Panny I’m very new to this area of cultivation so definitely get a second opinion … I’d select from your 7:30-8 area of that plate. It looks whispy, faster than the other areas, and it is a pretty clear organized sector. My second choice would be 11-1 , that has similar qualities.

If you have plenty of bulk substrate, room in FC, and time, it might be worth a shot. I would keep your expectations low however.

Nice dedicated space Jake. How many tents are you planning on running? I really want two - just so I can have one dialed to initiate pinning and another dialed for post-pin fruiting but i don’t think I have the space for a second. I could probably do it if I modified the pre-made tent and made it shorter though.
Love the floor drain. Would be so nice to be able to dilute bleach spray everything and just hose it down every x months.

Thanks! While I am waiting for the new culture I might as well try spawning my texans' grains since the myc overrun the bacteria
