Not very! I just looked back at my pictures to see when I took the clone, it was about 8 months ago. Every time I took it to grain, I also transferred to a new plate to use as inoculant for the next round. I was also pretty bad about letting the culture set on agar for too long between transfers, but that extended the time a lot. This last round really suffered in terms of yield, but it was worthwhile for around 6 months.
When I start back up in the spring, I will be trying LC again, and I also plan on trying to use G2G, both as methods to extend a culture's life expectancy.
I think some genetic information is getting lost every time a small segment is transferred to agar, so I'm hoping transferring more mycelium will keep it intact longer.

Hey Mr giggles
You Can not clone a dry fruit. If you relly want som out of it you Can try to take som of the sporre under the cap and put on agar. Here Less is more...!

I think your best bet is in the middle of the fattest part of the stem, under the cap. Tear the stem in half on the orange line, that's the tissue you want. It looks pretty dry for cloning, but there's a chance it will work. The fruit on the left looks too dry.

Like I said, it has been done on here. One of the theories is that it's actually dried spores on the tissue that are growing and not the clone, but who knows for sure.

Dried tissue is a low cost/low tech way of storing genetics. There are a few papers on long term storage methods listing dried tissue as viable method.

Not sure which write up you have found, I did a few tests with mixed results but Fahtster does it on a regular basis.

OK I'm am officially retiring from Pan cult for the next 6-7 month. Thought about doing another run as temps are still good but got too much work on and have to go out of town on a regular basis.

Does any of these look like mycelium to you guys...?
The light blue agar is 30% potato water/ 70% bottled water. 1g honey, 1g maple syrup and 7.5 g agar powder. Water is 700ml

This is from older agar. Does this look like mycelium?

I haven't been doing agar very long but I think all I've done is use tissue from dried samples so far. The gym I used was dried out for awhile. I just fruited some cubes from a sample I had. I had a filthy shriveled up 2 yr old gym that I got to grow on agar, at least before I neglected it and contam took over lol. It'll be difficult to get tissue from a thin pan. I might just break some up over the agar and see if anything starts growing if I can't get a clean sample.

Any suggestions on how to clean it up or where to transfer from?
No from agar wedges
