And what about my case (on pics)? I would say trays on first pic is almost close to full colonization (or is it already fully colonized?) - so 4/5 more days at least. Other grows (2 other pics) even more.

First pic, all trays are fully colonized. Second pic, left tray not fully colonized, right tray fully colonized. Third pic not fully colonized. The colonization doesn't have to be thick or even, but you need to see mycelium coverage over the whole surface. Any uncolonized patches means not fully colonized and if some areas stay like that for several days even though the rest colonized in just a few days, it means contamination. At that point you can consider it fully colonized and proceed with your fruiting with some reduced expectations on account of the contamination. Overall your trays look pretty good to my eyes.

Thanks. So maybe in 4-5 days its best to pasteurize my casing and cover those in first pic. Leave the rest of casing on shelf for those in other pics 3-4 days after these.

Funny though, some 2/3 of my cubes tubs develop mold some 5-10 days after spawning. With pan cyan (some 3-4 trays prior to these) for now I am 100 percent mold free. Maybe they are more contam-resisstant?

After casing, is it best to give pans a rest or just directly put them into fruiting conditions with plenty of FAE?

People have done both with great results. Typical method is to case then let sit 24 hrs then fruit chamber. some case and put in chamber immediately. I wait. Its time you'd be waiting for pins either way

Took pan bispos to 80/20 straw/sawdust tonight. Kinda random.

I will have to use manure with them for fruiting?

I've still grown mold in pan trays. In fact, I have some growing right now lol. But I find that good pan mycelium colonizes faster than good cube mycelium. If I do a 1:1 or 1:2 spawn ratio, my pans can fully colonize a substrate in just 3 days. 1:4 spawn ratio seems to be what most people run, and I have heard talk about lower ratios being more prone to contams, but I haven't personally found that to be true and I think Baba has the same experience as me. Lower ratios are fine and I actually prefer them because the grow goes faster and seems more resistant to contams.

I would pasteurize your casing now and then let it age for 3-4 days before applying it to your trays, instead of pasteurizing immediately before use. Just like subs, aging after pasteurization is a good idea if you have the time.

Haven't personally seen anyone fruit pans without manure yet that I recall but maybe someone saw something I didn't. I know Adas uses sawdust with good results, though he also adds manure and I think compost too.

There are a few old grows around that used just straw I think and here is one from user Stropharis who didn't use any manure but mostly straw: Panaeolus MS (without manure)

As you can see in his thread the fruits are plenty but caps are small. I had some runs with just coir and the fruits had small caps as
well though once put out side and covered lightly with grass clippings they grew much bigger caps from just coir.

Here are a couple of photos. Fruits in the first image are just 4" tall. Fruits in the the second one are from the same 100% coir substrate but 2nd flush grown outdoors.

Your mix should produce something smalltalk, generally speaking that is. Conditions have to be good as well.

This was done with pure straw. I used a littel glass of colonized hay (grass clippings) as spawn so very low on nutritions.

I think issue here is "for fruiting"? You dont use manure for fruiting, you use it for making substrate. And casing, ypu dont use manure for it. Just peat/verm/lime although some uswd other stuff probably with success.

just lookin for feedback on some of these pan jam cambo plates? i transferred these from spore print plates.

the first plate looks too tomentose like cube mycelium but the mycelium looks more whispy on the third plate plate wasn’t sure if it’s any good. second plate is a more recent transfer but seems to be growing pretty quick.

Cant see much on the first two, all I see is a solid white circles.
Can you get closer with your cam?

Any particular reason for the change in growth on the third plate?

Interesting, so this is agar to just grass clippings or was some sort of supplementation involved? How long from spawn to fruits? I know
angam does or did low nute grows with spores to hay, can't remember now if he supplemented his but he had quite good results.

this is as close of pics i could take with good light still. i’m not sure what happened with the growth on the third dish but it is faster than the more tomentose dish. i used the standard mea recipe for the agar.

Hope this helps but judging from photos can be hit or miss.  FWIW the first plate looks the best to me and you say it does grow
fast so I would take a few transfers to get some good plates from that to play with.

If the third plate wasn't so weird I'd say take transfers from the top between 11 and 1 o'clock. Maybe someone else knows what's going on there.

Second plate seems too dense but could be the photo, just seems not right.

So yeah, plate #1, the rest IDK.

I remember that thread. But we also see the sign of struggling for conditions - white myc on stems, right? also possible factor of fruit formation defect

Hey Baba yaga. No its GLC to grass and Then to pure straw and casing . I remember the colonization of the tub was fast but I also use som fluffy fin pre. Cut straw. I have only grown this one grow with pure straw so the low yeld is maybe because of bad luck and bad skills. Probably both.  Was Angam just doing bulk2bulk with a normal straw/h-poo mix and No gains. I have try that to, colonized pasteurize bulk to new pasteurize bulk substrat but ther I also se a littel drop in yeld with No gain spawn.

Little update on the bispo in the JCM. Feet looked a bit fuzzy today, so I raised the lid a bit after taking this pic.

I recently tossed my pan cyans after waiting to see if maybe they would fruit. They were infested with larva and there were some visible gnats. Now my bisporus seems to be dying. All the fruits and pins just stopped and blued. Surface conditions were still good. Maybe I over misted them? Could also be the eggs have hatched and now they are killing my babies

If that’s true then there’s a decent chance that all my projects could be fucked le sighhh

You need to get some BTI (Bacillus thuringiensis var. israelensis). It's a common mosquito control and is widely available. That shit works against fungus gnats.
