I use fungus gnat nematodes with success. They're available on amazon and in better nurseries.

alright thanks man, i’ll take a couple transfers from the first plate to make sure they’re clean hopefully and then put them to LI if the growth still looks good.

I had one case where few days old pasteurized casing ruined the grow as some mold took over. The casing was pasteurized in a aluminum tray and was covered/wrapped with aluminum foil and kept in a presumably clean box. Very same batch used same day when pasteurized (when it cooled down) worked great. Could be my mistake or anything else, but this was the only difference. Just saying my experience

First off: please don't drag me lol
I'm not sure if this is okay to ask but this is my first time growing pans and my third time growing ever. I know I'm "technically" doing it wrong. It's brf/Verm. I don't expect lots of fruits when I spawn to bulk due to using coir and verm since it's supposed to be Hpoo/straw but do these look contaminated to anyone? Thanks in advance.

Is that mystery pan the one that was found growing on wood awhile back? Or maybe it was just found in some woods

What is the best temperature for colonizing grains? 28-30C is okay for panaeolus jars colonizing?

I keep mine between 20-24C. I don't think 28-30 will hurt much if your spawn is clean but it doesn't help much either. I wouldn't go any higher though.
It is more important to not have big temperature swings in your room which can cause excessive condensation in your jars. So what ever temperature you can keep stable between 20-28 is a good one.
There will be other opinions on the topic though.

I've always found fungus nematodes to be hit and miss, a good supplement to Bti, but I'd disagree that nematodes are your first line of defense. Bti is also a lot easier to get.

Any tips for printing pans? What are signs they're ready to print? I have one bispo fruit that's wavy and open, and some others that will flatten out soon.

I haven't done many pans but I harvested after they were visibly dropping spores and printed on foil inside a shoebox on another note, I just dropped some wedges in some jars of rye. Pan cyan "florida", Pan Cinctulus "Warren, Co. PA", and a local Pan Cinctulus that produces sclerotia. And a king oyster I cloned from a grocery store. Next is BK Mak, APE, ovoids and allenii, and eventually tampenensis. I also just spawned a wild hericium americanum clone that I'm stoked to see fruit

Cased my pans day before yesterday. And yesterday I removed the tape and put some micropore tape instead.
Is this setup ok for fruiting? Of course, I would mist and fan few times daily. And maybe when pins show would remove micropore tape completely. Is that enough humidity and (especially) FAE?

Opened caps. You will probably see some black covering on the caps, spores of mushrooms. Just wait more. And cut it 0.5 cm under the cap. Then place on tin foil or smth. Good luck

Should be OK to get some fruits. On your next run you could try more FAE right after casing and see how that works.

I noticed that on one of your photos you have what look like bisporus growing with grass of some sort in a container. is that what this is, and if so, how does that work - and is it potentially helpful? I had the same thought a few weeks ago but have not set up something experimental. thanks in advance for any info...
