Hey everyone. This is the first time I'm growing Panaeolus cyanescens. The mycelium have little bumps on them? Is this normal?

I’m not taking any sides but just so you know that if you scroll to the bottom of the thread there’s a search box that allows you to search just this thread for a term or phrase

Too bad you couldn't put that energy you just put into going through my posts towards answering some simple questions.
This thread is immense, it's full of contradictory and possibly old and outdated information, and I simply do not have the time to read through a lot of old material that might be out of date, and recapitulating people's old teks/mistakes. this has happened several times already.
As for me being a troll...really?

I agree, there's a lot of old and contradictory information on this thread. So again, I don't see what the big deal is - if you don't want to answer newbie questions, than just ignore them. If you'd like to be a helpful, decent person and just answer or point newbies to the correct, relatively recent info or tried and true teks, widely in use, great.

Well, to be fair you could also be a slightly more decent forum user and not call other people's posts "congratulatory dick wagging" without provocation. Some are happy to share their successes and others empathize with that feeling, it's nothing out of the ordinary for human social behavior.

This may be what you guys need. Scroll to the bottom of the webpage to where it says "Extra information". There's a "Search this thread:" function.

In case you have stalled spores - I had some cambos and a few others on Fungi Perfecti LME antibiotic agar and they wouldn't emerge, gave them three weeks and was about to toss the plates, but figured I'd try something that I know isn't good practice - I opened them back up and misted them, and then put them in a 80 degree incubator. Within two days all have taken off. Starting to wonder if some of these actually can benefit from proper incubation....

I would like to inoculate canary seeds grain with panaeolus culture. Is it good choice? Or millet (or another grain) is better? What you can say about canary seeds and pans growing?

Canary seed should work like any other cereal in regards to providing nutrients for your mycelium to colonize. Question is can you prep it so it doesn't turn into a starchy mess. I imagine it to be similar to rye grass seed, just give it a shot and let us know how it turned out.

Canary seed is not good for Tampanensis. I know it. But it works very well with cubes. It's not same good for everything. But I have no experience with pans on canary...

I see it now! Thanks! That will be useful for sure omg haha
Bisporus update: My Bisporus is pinning! Each of my little cup things has at least one pin, but they’re so small it’s hard to take a picture of them!

Pin is in the bottom right part area

Grats!
I have pins but they are still small stubby dark brown guys. Expected more growth in 3 days, but I've never tried to cultivate P. Bisporus before.
Certainly acting way different than their Pan Cyan neighbours

What is "canary seed"? Isn't that mostly millet and elsewhere on this thread people recommend millet as a good grain when mixed with 25% Rye? That's the kind of thing we're not supposed to complain about - contradictory posts.

Hey Baba Yaga, Thanks for responding. I posted some photos already in this overly long thread of what I thought were tropicalis that were a bit too small. One small tub gave me a reasonable first flush but the rest have produced only a few. Agar to grain, sub in some was "Boomr bag horseshit, coir substrate, large version of a Martha tent with DIY vapor producer, never went below 88% humidity, lots of FAE. That's why I had asked about tropicalis specifically, to which nobody responded (and I'm the troll) if they were even capable of large flushes, etc.
I have some other species/varities including Pan. cyan. BVI, Hawaii, Austalian and one struggling plate of bisporus coming on, so will get another shot at it, and if they're still not doing well I better check back in with you. Again, thanks.

Phalaris canariensis is canary seeds grass. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Canary_grass It's not millet.
Try to mix millet and 25% rye is interesting idea, I think I'll give it a shot.
