Greetings fellow Shroomers. I checked on a few of my spots this week on 2 different sides of Vic to get a grasp of this seasons kick-off. The first set are from the NW area and the second set of photos are from the SW....enjoy....

Hello everyone,

Just out of curiosity, is Psilocybe subaeruginosa the only psychoactive mushroom that is commonly found in Victoria? I notice that under this thread https://www.shroomery.org/8461/Which-psilocybin-mushrooms-grow-wild-in-my-area
that other psychoactive mushrooms are found in Victoria, but these forums seem to be largely concerned with subs, has anyone had any luck finding other psychoactive species?

Actives to be found in Vic include:

Psilocybe subaeruginosa (synonyms include: Psilocybe australiana and Psilocybe eucalypta)
Psilocybe semilanceata
Psilocybe alutaceae

Curiosities include:
Amanita muscaria - contains muscimol, not psilocybin
Gymnopilus junonius - lots of rumours of activity.  American specimens are know to contain very low doses of psilocybin

I've got an active interest in how psychoactive compounds can benefit those who suffer long term anxiety/depression, and having had seriously amazing personal results with shrooms, DMT, and more recently, Ketamine, I'm interested in keeping a personal stash for microdosing, and the occasional larger dose for fun times. :smile:

That's really cool and actually the reason I'm interested in shrooms again after experimenting with them a few years ago. I'm hoping microdosing and the occasional trip will help me with my mental health. I've heard so many good things

Ive found 1 single P.sub out near North Fitzroy, ive spent over 10hours actively looking around but no abundance, lots of in-actives though! . Id say too dry, temp is good though! hoping the rain hangs around for a while..

Woooo let's go boys! 2nd hunt this season. Wasn't very wet here, it had around 35mm of rain 5 days ago but nothing since. Happy with the find though!

North east vic, very close to the border of nsw.

Nice picture of some Rosellas. Poor pic quality though.


Fly agaric, seen around 10 here. Didn't pick any, they are active though right?


Some weird mushroom group on a tree stump. Looked cool!


Bunch of subs.




Pic showing mycelium, was taken on an embankment.


Nice habitat shot, with a sub down the bottom.


Seen these fellas while driving out! Looked out the window and the big one stood out like dogs balls.


Total haul today; 84! Yet to weigh them, drying atm. Left side are naturally blue, no bruising was inflicted. Right side I pinched them, waiting for coloring.

Not to imply that this would work for everyone... but I have been medicated now for depression/anxiety for 6, maybe 7 years, and not an ounce of improvement. The improvements I have seen since I have been experimenting with psychoactive compounds are staggering - especially shrooms, and ketamine. That being said, I don't do heroic doses, and have never been interested in k-holing myself. haha

Went for a quick walk today not expecting to find anything as the ground was quite dry. Managed to come home with these which I’m pretty happy with. Heaps of pins left that should hopefully treat me well in a few days time.

Wish I had more photos of the habitat and before I picked them but there were too many people around.

Keep your locations general and protect your spots and yourselves, I'm sure something like 'NE suburbs' is fine. Don't ask is the written rule. You guys have a lot of spots to look in anyway, very rare to find them in the suburbs of Adelaide.

Personally I'm not looking to be any more specific than I have been. Just curious because I thought specific location talk wasnt actually allowed at all.

The loner is coming on nicely. Veil broke, gills still immature. First of the season going to let it spore....
