Tired them? (dont want you to unless sure but just asking)

Not yet, but considering they have been identified by a trusted identifier on here, along with one of my close mates who has been doing this for years, plus at least 5 or 6 other long term shroomers, I'm pretty confident.

Had my first find of the season today. Melb suburbs. Found 3 patches, one of which had maybe 20 pins all under 1cm in height, will check again in a day or two to see how they are coming along. Gave them some nice woodchips to cover them up and keep the moisture in, hoping they grow up nice and strong. Was concerned that two may not be subs, but the spore prints checked out with a nice purple/dark brown color.

They are beautiful finds.  nice work mate

enjoy

First young'un for 2018.

Mulch beds are still pretty dry an inch below surface.

Still need some soaking rains to get myc active.

But it's healthy and widespread.

First Finds [Re: uberXFiles]
    #25209189 -

Season has finally started for me!

Found these two baby pins and one half eaten sub. Hopefully it rains a bit over the next few weeks as the ground is still too dry where I am. Found in south eastern suburbs

During my walk I came across a council worker spraying weeds in all my usual spots which I am not happy about, hopefully doesn’t affect the subs.

Edit: Does anyone know if Leratiomyces Ceres ruin the potential of Subs growing in a certain area? They are growing everywhere and make it hard to distinguish between subs sometimes.

Yesterday's haul [Re: ent]
    #25209204 -

Found these subs just 1 minute from my house! Could hardly believe it, they were growing right next to the sidewalk with a second immature patch just 9ft from these!!

These are the first shrooms I have ever picked; I've tried dried shrooms before in a low dose, but last night I ate all 38g of these wet ones and my my my. IMO Dried just don't compare to fresh subs.

Fair to say my mind melted and consciousness slipped into a white kaleidoscopic void.. good fun. Can't wait to do it again once the veil breaks on all the other subs.

Honey hole! [Re: ent]
    #25209384 -

So I was on my way to a new park today when I saw a plot of land at the end of my street. Overgrown council property. I noticed some trees up the back with rotting wood debris and thought it looked promising.
Well, turns out my hunch was right, alas 68 freaking subs later - I never made it to the park I was headed to!! I ran out of light before I could clear all the mature subs! Will finish off that plot tomorrow and maybe if the day's not out I'll head to the park.

All found in an empty plot of land near Mooroolbark area.

Two isolated subs sprung from my first patch location over the last 2 days.

Today was a damn good day!! [Re: ent]
    #25209401 -

If I thought our fungi overlords blessed me yesterday, they were only just ramping up.

Today was a good day. Found metro Melbourne.

Note: Mycelium came up on two of them due to being awkward to pinch, and I've already been told off for picking the pins. I know better now.

I recommend to leave the pins (top left) to mature. Giving them a chance to mature allows them to complete their reproductive cycle releasing their spores for future generations. Great finds all round:thumbup:

I was wondering about P Cinctulus...

I've seen bunches of them all over my regular P Subaeruginosa patches

The really numerous ones in capafunk's post are Psathyrella (I think) not cincts but I'm not sure which ones you guys are talkin about. I don't think those are cincts either, uberXfiles

Cheers y'all!

Cheers mate! Just to confirm, these look like subs to you, yeah?

Pulling a spore print on the larger one, and one of the lighter capped ones as well, but the more opinions the better.
