Cosmoplex- This is my first time trying tampanensis, so I'm pretty pleased with how things are going so far! Not sure when to pick them. Spawned 3/17, so 12 days in. After a lot of waiting, I gave up on looking for plate pins, though I'll be trying again with a different agar recipe.

QQ: What do you feel is the best way of deyhydrating the grains before putting them in an envelope? Leave them in a jar with an SFD? If so, about how long would it take to reach full deyhdration? The SFDs tend to slow down the removal of moisture from the jars. I would think a clean, dry, empty jar (read: One that didn't have a bunch of grain residue in it - having been used already as a spawn jar) would take like 60 days to fully dry a grain out.



I use These lids that have adjustable exposed tyvek (so the grains stay sterile and aren’t exposed to air outside the jar).  They take a few weeks to dry like that just left to dry but Micelio used damp rid (dry home brand) and got it dried out in a few days which I’ll be doing from now on

I bet it's just silica gel.

You can buy that in bulk and put it into pouches or containers yourself for cheap. And they're rechargeable, idk if those damprid products are reusable..

Brew day spent grain mixed with coir for the sub. So far, it looks healthy and is colonizing well, although there is a lot more moisture with these three shoes. I haven't opened them except for quick peeks every other day, I might crack them open a bit more to get a little more air.

First time opening a lid and have water dripping down. My field capacity might have been off?

"Z-strain" busting through a cm of fine verm pseudocasing 3 days after sending to SB.

This is the aggressive Z-strain that I had on a plate in the fridge for 6 months.

Saw someone post about Z-strain a while back, remembered I had it. Put a little bit to agar, was aggressive. Put to jar, was aggressive and beat 6 other jars to the finish line. And apparently is being aggressive now.

I'm still not so sure it's what this is, or if tampanensis carry albino genetics at all.

I've got one of those.  I'm considering cloning it to see what happens, but I've got it living in bulk sub at the moment.  What variety is yours?  Mine is ATL7.
