I dont think its a bad idea, if moe wants to devote his time to be a moderator. But, it could be an overall mistake splitting up the people who visit the cultivation forum (i.e. people who are not interested in outdoor cultivation might not often visit, lessening the ammount of advice to an average poster). Also considering that each topic overlays itsself (outdoor cultivation also requires indoor mycelium growth/preparation). But, it also could be better for outdoor cultivationists to have a specific forum with specific advice for what there doing.. I dont know ;p

The votes for yes have swept away the votes for no so far though.

i've got a large house up in the mountains, so i voted YES.
I think its right to discuss outdoor cultivation in a different forum. I mean, what the f***, there r forums for flames and irrelevant stuff... and Moe is the right man 4 this position Tripmeister is the man behind everything... lol

I just got into outdoor patches, and i would LOVE for there to be an outdoor forum. A lot of outdoor growing questions get lost in the mix of the mushroom cultivation forum.

and heres a suggestion: if moe howard and his boyz really wanna prove a outdoor cult is needed, why dont they just start workin out their outdoor shit in the cult form that already exist... like vat pointed out, its not just for indoor cult. instead of convinving ppl to vote yes for the new forum, just get them into outdoor cult. anyone can clik a little button for your poll, but does that REALLY mean that they are interested in setting up outdoor grow ops?

I do not think an outdoor cultivation forum is out of place.. there are many techniques of outdoor cropping available that isnt evident in the normal mushroom cultivation forum, for those who are interested in outdoor cultivation. And also, outdoor cultivation is seasonal, but now is about the season, and for some people in warmer climates, outdoor cultivation can persist year round.

Vatoloco, I think your not making a convinceable arguement, as you do not show any downfalls of having an outdoor cultivation forum except that it all could be handled under the current mush cult forum. Otherwise your just touching on the same words that you have been holding onto this entire arguement.

But, i could be very wrong.. i dont know ;p

Well, I frequent the cultivation and advanced cultivation forums (and I voted), so I guess I should throw in my two cents.

As long as I've been reged here, the cultivation forum has been a catch-all for every newbie question, mostly concerning cakes, myco-bags, and occasionally a casing or two. This is great repetition for the newbies, who desperately need to learn these things, but very tiring to wade through as someone who already knows most of the basic stuff.

Outdoor growing is a branch of cultivation that I think deserves special attention. Not only would it advance the techniques used in outdoor cultivation (much easier to do when it's the only topic at hand) considerably, but it would also take these types of posts out of the Cult. forum, where they tend to get lost.

The way I see it, everyone wins - The outdoor guys get their clubhouse, and Cult. gets fewer posts to wade through.

That's my two cents.

WHY? By outdoor cultivation im assuming your still talking about growing Ps.Cubensis and there is already a forum for that - and one for cultivation of other psilocybes which actually require outdoor environments - next well have a two forums - one for cakes and one for casings....

the advanced forum i suppose. My point was more that growing cubensis outside requires pretty much the same conditions as indoor cultivation - whereas outdoor patches for psilocybes such as Azurescens, Cyanescens, Bohemica, Baeocystis, Subaeruginosa, AUstraliana, Eucalypta etc require differing beds under a variety of conditions.

Its the same fucking mushroom - it requires similar fruiting conditions to grow indoors or out - ive read the thread and there is nothing new in it.
we already have a forum for cubensis growing and i havent seen any new ideas posted in this forum for a long time so why make an extra forum.
Rather than just trying to start something why not back up what your saying - if you can tell me one innovation in growing cubensis that justifies creating two forums for the cultivation of the one mushroom ill shut up.

Well, if the casings people were up in arms because they felt like they couldn't adequately discuss their technique through all the cake people, then I would say that was a good idea too.

To me, the point of creating new forums out of divisions of old ones is not a matter of "when will the madness end?!?!", but mostly due to the fact that Cultivation gets a HUGE number of posts, and anything that takes specialty posts out of that forum (making it easier to read) is groovy in my book.

I simply can't see the harm in this, and don't totally understand why anyone would be against it enough to argue over it.

Obviously a number of people want the forum created - if, in the future, it turns out that there are only a total of like six things one needs to know to grow outdoors and the forum dies off, then it can always be re-integrated.

And, for those who really just like to be mean to newbies (I suspect that there are a few...), wouldn't it be nice to be able to repeat over and over...

well i dont think outdoor Cubensis teks should appear in Advanced Cultivation and many of the ideas surrounding outdoor beds for woodloving psilocybes are not really 'experimental' so maybe its a good idea after all ONLY if it is for all mush and not exclusively cubensis otherwise it would be a but old...
