But it's not god that precedes everyone's thoughts. It's god that precedes our thoughts about "a force greater than us." or the like.

And in that context it makes evolutionary sense. Think of a hunter about to take down a giant mammoth, he would gain much courage if he believed there was some great power overlooking him.

And your second assertion

Yeah... what if there were pigs flying out of my ass. What's the difference between our two thoughts? They are both reasoned out the same.

Simple - it answers the biggest question in the universe. How and why are we here?

And the fact that our societies have drilled the word into us from day one to make us behave how they want us to behave.

God is just a crutch for reality, for people who's ego's can't let go of control. People who must answer every question for without answers they are lost.
