I have no problem with the above statement Swami, the fact that they are though for me, at least, just immediately determines the dictate(s) didn't originate from God. From what i understand he may(?) have ordered some nasty things(ie ordering Abraham to kill his own son etc) done in the old testament but from what i can see so far not in the new, with the notable exception of having his only Son crucified so he could provide a means through which Man, as a whole or a single entity could be redeemed :smile:

I have talked about things that have happened in my life that I believe are from God. I believe that God takes care of me.

However, I can see your point, Swami, that the same things could have occurred in the absence of a supreme being.

I can also see how to nonbelievers, we believers appear to be delusional.

It's inexplicable, I suppose. I choose to believe. I can't believe that the things in my life have happened without God being involved, even the things that are bad. Even the bad things ended up working toward good things.

There have been so many miracles in my life, both big and small, that it's obvious to me that God exists.

People who use God's name to justify committing evil acts are just evil people using God's name to commit evil acts. This is the same as Muslims using the name of God to kill the infidel. Do we hold all Muslims accountable for the mistaken Muslims?

I noticed that MY government hasn't yet shipped out or massacred the peaceful Muslims who live here in response to what the Muslims did, for example, on 9/11. Nor have they massacred all the Muslims in Iraq. I think there are a few over there, aren't there?

I can't believe that the things in my life have happened without God being involved, even the things that are bad. Even the bad things ended up working toward good things.


Personally for me it was the bad things that were going down in my life that forced me(i still had free will though, it WAS my own choice to do so)to turn to God a little over a week ago, had things not been so crappy i would have had no reason to, so i truly thank God for all the bad stuff too :smile:

Read the whole Old Testament Swami and you will see many screw ups up within God's chosen people. The Bible never says that just because we follow God we're gunna be perfect. If you had the gift of the Holy Spirit you would understand where all this "God told me to do it" stuff originates (minus the TRUELY delusional), but it's more like "God urged me to". Sometimes peoples' minds get ahead of their discernment and believe that God meant for them to do something when it was really their own mind saying it. It takes some spiritual maturity, but it's obvious when you are really "urged" to do something.
