A jury found that Deanna Laney was legally insane May 9 when she killed her two older sons, ages 6 and 8, in the front yard and left the youngest, now 2, maimed in his crib.

No, you're missing the point. Regardless of whether Christians think God is infallible, we still have laws in this country. Then again, I'm not sure if the laws apply to divine beings. Then again, if you believe in Jesus, then you believe that God can take on human form, so you could subpoena God to come down in human form and stand trial. While we're at it, we should try him for war crimes for telling Bush to invade Iraq.

I have no doubt that perphaps the women was receiving visions.
Perphaps the beings werent human.
However, No positive being of Light told her to kill her children.
In fact, from the article it appears she recieved visions, in which SHE DECIDED were TELLING HER to kill her children. She never received a message, just a vision.
What a looney.

I know you meant no harm, but isn't calling someone who suffers from a chemical imbalance that greatly ruins her grasp on reality like calling a man in a wheelchair a cripple?
I do not condone what happened at all. I'm not even sure if her claims of visions are true. But if they are...couldn't she be considered as a victim of her own mind? Hell, how many motives are dictated by our mind? It almost seems like we're slaves, we're servants to our mind. Does this mean that almost everyone is innocent?
Eh, these ideas might seem far fetched...maybe I'm losing my mind.

if the lady is genuinelly ill, then she belongs in a hospital. that doesnt mean that she isnt responsible for her actions. she needs to take the full consequences of her actions.
i believe religious intuitions stem from our instinctive tendency to project human qualities onto our worlds. our anthropomorphism is an inborn, adaptive trait that enhanced our ancestors survival.
we interpreted even the most random-seeming natural phenomena as the acts of a wrathful or loving deity.

Annnnnnd I had a light saber and my friend was there and I said "you look like an indian" and he said "you look like satan" and he found a stick and a rock and he named the rock ooga booga and he named the stick Stick and we both thought that was pretty funny. We got eaten alive by mosquitos but didn't notice til the next day. I stepped on some glass while wading in the swamp and cut my foot open, didn't bother me til the next day either....yeah it was a good time, ended the night by buying some liquor for minors and drinking nips and going to he diner and eating chicken fingers, and then I went home and went to bed.
