i'm still hoping my adolescents will eventually mature into young adults (though sometimes it seems that the 16 year-old girl will hit the mark before her 19 year-old brother... & sometimes i wonder if i will still be breathing when the miraculous transformation occurs...)

and as for "mere" myth...
reminds me a a li'l quip from a couple decades ago:
the father is mildly berating his son at being bested by "a mere girl"
& the son replies: "but pop, girls are not nearly so mere as they used to be"

and as to humans being created by god "in his image"
well, friends, it is not the body (see ernst haekel's "gaseous vertebrate" or some of thomas paine's inspired rantings... or even mark twain or ambrose bierce...)
it is the spark of knowing that you percieve in a baby's eyes...
the "stuff" molded by one who makes...
the playfulness of one dancing through this field of lila...
the glow you can feel from tales & even images of the ones we see as exemplars, or who now can act as guides for us...
the indefinable but undeniable scent of somethinig, for lack of a better word, we often call "spirit"...

& remember, what you can grok as a human on this third rock from the sun, "grokking in fullness", well... it may feel like "the way" but... better perhaps to call it "a way" (& hopefully we may avoid the percieved neccessity to "kill all the unbelivers" that has so often sullied the green forests, the amber fields, the brown deserts, of our rainbow race...
