"Real" Christians and Tolerance
    #3011966 - 08/17/04 04:04 AM (12 years, 3 months ago)

I hear it all the time...
"Those aren't REAL Christians."
"REAL Christians wouldn't beat up homosexuals."
"Abortion clinic bombers aren't REAL Christians... they're taking things too literally."

What the fuck does "REAL" Christian mean?
It seems there's always this loophole that allows good, "REAL" Christians to escape blame and responsibility for the existence of extremists that go just a little too far with their beliefs. But this loophole is only invoked with the VERY extreme. What about all those nuts right at the border? Plenty of these "REAL" Christians are just an itchy trigger-finger away from "becoming" an extremist. Why is there no internal policing system or coherence control measure? Please, help idiots like myself distinguish AHEAD OF TIME exactly who is and who isn't a "REAL" Christian.

In theory a real christian is someone who obeys the Sermon on the Mount (Matt 4-6). But that can get pretty extreme too :P For instance, if you look at another woman lustfully you commit adultery... hmmm...

Ok, but realized humans realize that they came from God. God is beyond dogma.

The concept of a "realized human" is just a man made explanation used to describe those who want to defend religon. God is a concept made by man - man is fallible. 'nuff said, no?

If it were then maybe all religion would cease but, for better or worse, thats probably never going to happen.

Answering who is a real christian is like answering whats good and whats bad. You cant because in the end its your opinion over theirs. Noone ever wins in this situation because everyone has different veiws and beliefs.

Man loses face of himself in the countenance of the God Reality. God is the Source of all Consciousness, unto Him does consciousness return with collected data from the material world where it is again absorbed into the ecstasy of God.

To answer the original question, I would say a "real" Christian is someone who lives according to Jesus's teachings. Turn the other cheek when someone wrongs you, don't judge others, don't incite violence, et cetera. In this context I have yet to meet a "real" Christian, but I have known some people who come close.

There is no such thing because Jesus didn't want religions formed in his name- they are all bogus simply because a religion based on jesus's teachings is.

Now, the closest you could come to anything real is a follower of his teachings that prescribe to NO religion as HE TAUGHT us not to. He said that people would use his name and works to start religions to serve their own agendas and he didn't want that.

He was a rebel with a cause, coolest Mo Fo to walk the face of this earth.

Imagine your freind biting it and you can tell his mom to dry her tears because you can bring him back to life.

Imagine being able to say, "this party barge is lame. I'm stepping off this boat in the middle of the sea and I am going to walk back over the water and find me a real house party"

What the bleep is a real christian is right! It's an oxi moron statement since he taught us not to engange in religions in his name.

Christians who be hatin on homos are quite laughable! Act like the man and love them anyway for they know not what they do! Thats what Jesus taught us anyway.

A real 'christian' is someone who tries to follow God, like Jesus did.

That even includes to critisize authoroties, which speak in his name, to make people blind of her/it/him and his/its/her signposts towards godly consciousness, recognition, love and awareness.
