Re: I want enlightenment WITH the vices [Re: Icelander]

I read this witticism on the Psychedelic Forum:

"Rule of thumb: If you are not sure if you are alive or dead, then you are probaby alive." ~ Shmoopy

Just trying to help...

My experince with salvia did not feel like death of anything. It felt like something else, and that's all. I would have had to be thinking normally to perceive the idea that my ego felt dead.

not everyone experiences it on salvia, I personally never have either. for me it took a large dose of acid and some pot in a solo setting. it was as though my previous 'I' had died, as the part of me that thought and remembered was nowhere to be found. everything felt so spacial, expanded and timeless. and then I got sucked in.

All i gotta say is WOW! (and not warcrat WoW). Great conversations going on. Thank you all for writing back, and theres alot of good shit for me to think about.

I just wanna add that for the last 5 days or so i was starting to become a "Coffie drinker" because of lack of drugs as well with drinking LOTS of monsters with the new re opening of my WoW account in hopes of ways to kill the time. Thats why i wrote this in the "Deppressed" mood.

Now that i gave my WoW account to my little sister and stopped abusing caffine to hopefully feel something of a "High" im feeling like my old self. Got a really good perspective of how a adult who wakes up and drinks "Coffie" everyday could totally cause irritability and a pissed off mood.

Anyway thx yall, I feel better and to see this post reach 4 pages made me smile. PEACE

well you are welcome
we are always looking for another opportunity to soap box whatever we feel in most important in anyone elses thread.
most of what you can find here really has nothing to do with your question.

and lots of it is just plain contentious or wrongheaded.

I really don't understand the side trip into salvia(though I take one daily), or why it is in bold and italics either(don't agree with a word), but it plays against some other erroneous spiritual nonsense claiming meaning in ego loss etc....

many many side trips.

that I guess is the essence of vice.
how far along the side trips you go.

Getting stoned is spiritual, taking a shit is spiritual, having sex is spiritual, grubbing down a double quarter pounder with cheese (no pickles or onions), a 10 piece chicken mcnuggets, with large fries and a coke is also very spiritual. The notion that some actions are spiritually impure is nonsense. There is moderation and lack of moderation. Expressing moderation over all is healthy. Not being moderate over all leads to a loss of health. In my view being spiritual is acting in a way that encourages our health and growth. Making yourself feel guilty, or suffering needlessly on purpose, or denying yourself pleasure on a consistent basis is not healthy and does not encourage the growth of anything but self importance.

grubbing down a double quarter pounder with cheese (no pickles or onions) = spiritual

grubbing down a double quarter pounder with cheese AND pickles AND onions = non-spiritual

It not about 'spirituality' it's about one's 'energy' and where it's going.

Pickles and onions on a cheeseburger suck. I go for lettuce...even spinach, but NOT the dreaded pickles and onions.

Using a George Foreman for the bacon really knocks out the fat.
Perhaps its the angle.

So, you agree that onions and pickles have no place on a double quarter pounder with cheese?

I'm OK with a little bit of onion, but I definitly can't stand pickles on burgers. Yuck. Pickles are only acceptable either on thier own, or finely diced in a potato salad.
