i guess nobody understood what I wrote
- some people pm me and say I am writing in abstract poetry.
i really do talk directly to the issues and chop away as much personal anecdotal mush as possible. maybe I am just too far gone, or too far over the hill.

I take gross exception to this statement. It is very true that cannabis slightly elevates the activity of alpha-waves in the brain. Referring to this effect as merely feeding an "adolescent addiction" is misguided at best. Alpha waves are associated with meditation and the relaxation response, in turn stimulating creativity and abstract thinking. Markos essentially labels these states as adolescent and not a part of adult life. Really? Am I therefore to make the conclusion that said adult life affords no room for creativity or abstract (or, for that matter, meditative) thinking? If so, all those whose livelihood is dependent on such states (such as artists/ musicians/ spiritual seekers) are simply pursuing "mere" adolescent addictions... I cannot allow this idea to go without rebuttal. A correlation between alpha-wave production and adolescence is not sufficient to label cannabis use as feeding an adolescent addiction. More specifically, it is insufficient in attempting to establish that cannabis "merely" serves this purpose alone. Frankly, I am shocked to see cannabis, which as you know has thousands of years of medical, artistic and spiritual use, defined so narrowly and dismissed as such.

Your definition of "spiritual" probably means whatever feeds your own narcissistic feel-good responses. I take amusement in few things, but rationalization by cannabis dopers just cracks me up! I'll wait until all of you simply grow up.

Psychoanalysis is intriguing, but one could also say that you are displacing your own self-loathing (stemming from a career which is somewhat incompatible with your own subconscious spiritual/egotistical models) with an attack upon something you love (cannabis) and, in this instance, an ad hominem which does you no good.

I think the brain wave analysis put forth above by Marktheagnostic was not only an inaccurate report of experimentation but also failed to connect directly to physiology and psychology.

the overriding thought was to cast aspursions onto the demographic of teenage potheads, with scientific mumbo jumbo thrown in to make any dispute more difficult.

Cannibis is one of natures goodies, but it does correspond to lower productivity when used in a chronic way, vs methamphetamine, which should not be promoted because of the addictive nature.

personally I don't go for pot (love it but find the time lost irretrievable) while I mysteriously adore salvia and respect mushroom and lsd immensely (all taken with moderation).

But yes that is true of spiritual seekers, because seeking implies trying to become something different, or better... eternally trying to get somewhere else.  Terminology ruins everything, as usual.
