People care about God because he cares about us.

Why are people always talking about it?

Because they realize that no matter how advanced science gets it will NEVER have all the answers to all the questions.

MANY were taught that true enough, but I wasnt. I am 21 years old and did not believe in God, or read religious scriptures(all kinds not just the bible) until a year ago. I had been to church a handfull of times with friends after sleepovers and the like, but other than that I was rasied as my own person. My beliefs are stronger because of that I feel. Most take religion and God for granted in that the church has always been part of the life. It just is. I still dont go to church it goes against what the bible itself says. Do not judge God by those out there who Him for their own gains.

I don't buy into it. All I have to do is look at the world we live in and you quickly realise that 'God' or 'The gods', in terms of how religions describe them, do not exist.

Please explain this first part man, every tree, flower, bird, etc., that I see is work of art made by God. You right on the last count religions have it all wrong. God DOES NOT belong to the various churches in this world, and I think you would have to be very stupid to suggest so.

I'm not trying to be offensive to anybody but it just seems clear that the religions are bullshit
1. The gods don't do anything to help humans
2. Look at the animal kingdom - its ferrocious, no all loving God there
3. Theres so many different religions or interpretations.
4. The documents that claim knowledge i.e Bible, Kohran (sp?) etc have been re-told by so many people, converted from different languages, how can anybody believe that they are still a true representation

1.God helps us in everything that happens. Although it may not be the kind of help we usually wish for.
2.God is everywhere in the animal kingdom. God is balance and Nature is perfect balance. Violence is a sin to God because we have guilt and shame, two emotions animals do not have. This is what is meant by the "fruit of knowledge"
3.True the word has come to many(if not all of mankind). Different people have different cultures different customs, hence the different forms of religions in teh world. I have no doubt that the message was much the same to each and every prophet, being human though one cant be surprised that the word is used for their own gains at times.
4.You cant be sure of the interpretation, that is no reason not to read them however. THe themes, stories, and "meat" of the bible remains. Any book is read through the lense of its author, obviously. Would you skip over Plato because its been retranslated? No, of course not, thats no excuse

And the only justification religion fans can come up with is 'God works in mysterious ways'.

I never say this. His ways arent mysterious to me, he obviously works within the laws of nature. I believe in God but I trust proven facts of Science. For instance, In my belief God "created" us through evolution. Our "laws" and the like are his tools. I do not think this should be taught as science like those intelligent design freaks. Let people make the connection theirselves is what I say.

I could write a bible. I could write a Da Vinci Code. Make lots of money and convince millions of people that it is the sole version of reality but that idea sucks!

It sure does, and i highly doubt you could do it. Any new "religions" have been stamped out by the three big ones pretty much consistenly.

I just cannot understand why anybody would believe in or even care to talk about this God rubbish.

Yet again, you seem to have a very narrow view of the world. People speak of God because it is the last answer left to them. I dont go around God this God that, bla bla bla, Thats for the phoney evangelical fools. God is real though, problem is any idiot can use the word and scare people like you away with it.

I can only assume that these people prefer to be told how things are rather than to look, question and think for themselves.
