Did the subject title offend you? Even just a little?
Why?

Is it because you haven't familiarized yourself with this possibility (that your beliefs are bullshit)... enough so that you are comfortable reading such a line without ego?
It's hard at first. We wrap everything we encounter around ourselves... and centrify it.
That's my shortcut word for the egocentric process.

These symbols (letters) are inherently neutral, are they not?
The mind attributes meaning to them (based on life experience)... and then matches up a response (such as being offended)...
But the mind IS you.

Although I often say "I believe this" or "I feel that this is the case.." or whatever, I rarely mean "THIS IS HOW IT IS; I KNOW IT" because I have quickly learned that whenever it seems like I may have a nice picture of any given subject, it can all get rocked by one small piece of information that I had missed out on or hasn't even been discovered by anybody yet.

But at times there are things that I get pretty convinced of that I can have difficulty releasing, even in the face of logical disproof.


At the same time though there are things that I have to believe in even if it sometimes gets hard to believe in, like the fact that I kick ass and am able to live my life at least semi-comfortably (physically and mentally) and accomplish my other main goals :wink:

no, I came to realization that I don't know everyhing and can't know everything long ago.  why....are you looking to offend?  what is your intent?  why is that the first thing stated in your post?

wtf? while all of these religions are flawed, what their problem is is that they have become politicized and so their leaders have a vested interest in maintaining power, thus leading to the violence and repression inherent in modern monotheism. try to keep in mind that they are the product of thousands of years of evolution (as a religious theory) and their fundemental beliefs (containing the oldest parts of their teachings which are polytheistic and animist) are identical with not only each other but with most other religious systems in the world. be nice to each other and don't kill unecessarily.

The only detail of the premise in your post that I find hard to completely agree with.. [which may just be the result of my mind semi-automatically defending it's egoistic beliefs derived on my life experiences, of course] is: "Your mind IS you."

hehe no..again you assume much.  you assume you know what's going on in my head.  second, you assume I'm trying to turn things around.  I saw the lines of "your beliefs are bullshit" as a corse way of saying what you could have said in a completely different fashion. it was the words you chose that I am looking at. it seemed to me that your intent was to try to prick at others egos.  it's why I asked though instead of making statements of what is and isn't.

who said anything about arguing?  let's talk about this more, as to what is your definition of an ego?  I see it as like a filter of how one takes in reality.  it's a part of the "self" that tries to judge external reality as either "good" or "bad" my saying having a healthy ego is one that doesn't dwell in negativity, because in the back of my mind, i know there really isn't a good or a bad.  reality just is, and can be experienced in any way. 

ok, and if you do trip, well, thats a key indicator that you can improve yourself.  negative emotions can be very useful.

however, I don't feel that having no ego is the way to go.  without an ego, we wouldn't function properly.

no meaning in words...so what's a dictionary for? but even mroe so I actually agree with you. this is what I mean by intent. words are just words.  I can say "fuck you buddy"  in one way (lets say jokingly), using a certain type of tone, and a person will most likely take it as a joke.  why?? cause my intent was to joke around, and I if I displayed it well enough, my friend will see that.

on the other hand...if I say "fuck you buddy" in a different tone (say as an insult)  to someone else, they are going to (at the very least) pick up on the vibes I'm trying to send them. 

so no, the words themselves no inherent meaning, but mix a little intent in there, and there is.

I came into this post un-offended in a sense that i did not want to cause phiscal harm to you, but if you screamed that in my face in a manner that wasn't polite then we'd have a problem. But since this is a forum i came in cool and ready to make you believe that what you are saying is illogical.
