I fucking HATE when you're pouring lme through a funnel that has water you didn't register. When it starts clumping up. Hate it.

Make sure you put that in air tight jars with desiccant. I've ended up with malt turning into a solid chunk before... eventually that chunk sucked up more moisture and ended up sludge

Will do. Thanks for the heads up.

Sadly all of cultures had to go =(. This was my favorite. It's not perfect but something about is appealing.

This was an open air transfer in my kitchen under a torch flame.

Donor plate had blue mold and I had other clean plates of the culture so I decided give open air a shot. Pretty damn happy.

This is Psilocybe subtropicalis/semperviva cloned from a particularly thick fruit I had last flush.

Looking good letโ€™s see if this semperviva clone will be as fat as the donor!

I do also open air work too (sometimes bored of working in a SAB, on day should ask a flow hood to Santa):

You do the Bunsen burner sterile field method? I recently got a Bunsen burner for shits n giggles. Yours looks way better made than mine though haha. Damn you amazon!

Also whatup on that sick ass syringe that you have made into a biopsy device?

SirPsy: Opposite of a pro! ; ) Just as cheap and reusable as I can, with material on hand..

Sandman: last time I used it for agar to LC with relatively good results again.

I go ahead and PC mine for 60 minutes in my instant pot. It hasn't caused me any trouble at all to PC them for that long.

It works really well for me!

When inoculating grain jars, whatโ€™s bestโ€ฆ G2G Vs. LC Vs. Agar? I have great great agar turn out, was going to start doing G2G heavy but some said LC is better. Thoughts?

LC can be really tricky unless you are confident in your agar work and sterile technique. One bad batch of LC can ruin a lot of time and materials. It is impossible to tell if LC is clean without testing it on agar. G2G is fun, but can be tricky in a SAB and takes some practice to get it right. I, personally just go agar to grain. It is very practical unless you are growing in considerable quantities.

I didnt had any success when i just bought the instantpot...

Then i started venting as a regular PC and sterilizing for 40 minutes (time starts when you stop venting) and now all my plates are ok.

I open it like 30-60 mins after it stops and i fill it with hot water to make a water bath for a smooth pouring.

Nice. Nothing beats plate pins. Take some sterile tweezers and transfer those babies, and you have yourself a cloned fruiting culture to run.
