Hey Yall! Unfortunately bigfootscreepyuncl has been hospitalized in a freak holiday hotdog eating contest accident so here I amn volunteering myself. Welcome to the officially unofficial home page for LAGM 2.023! WOOO YEET-HAW!
For the uninitiated "Let's All Grow Mushrooms" is a shroomery tradition where participants all grow mushrooms of any variety and species, updating their own grow logs along the way and watching other peoples grow logs take place. It's just one giant rootin tootin community grow-along! any and all are encouraged to participate! If you're interested in taking place in this awesome tradition all you have to do is read the rules and reply to this thread! The spot where you reply to this thread will become your grow log that you update throughout the year. I will make you a link so it's easier for you and others to find your journals and post it on the first post of this thread. You can even put the link to your page in your signature so other people throughout the forum can see the progress you're making and know that you're super cool 🆒 HERE ARE THE RULES - You must sign up. I guess you could just start posting in here without a page but that would be weird. - Any and all species and varieties are welcome - Whatever you're growing has to be started FROM SPORES, ON AGAR! - We start January 1, 2023 - Don't be a dick! This is to have fun, show off a little and help others - No Fun allowed this is a fun free zone. how to sign up - reply to this thread to reserve your spot. Your response will serve as your grow log for the year. - In your response to this thread include what species and varieties you are going to grow - If you're still confused just watch the first few happen and you'll catch on quickly. *PRIZES* HILLBILLY OUTLAW is donating 10 Swab sets of ghost! ![]() This is my first LAGM ever to compete and I am actually not doing it because of the prizes, I just also want to introduce myself again to the community! I don't think everybody already knows me, and this is a wonderful way to let you all take part in one of my biggest hobbies! I am going to have some failures at some point, since I haven't yet grow successfully any Pans, Sclerotia or even Woodlover. So I hope to also learn alot from all of you and hopefully improve on my skills. But what's sure is that I will have a lot of joy sharing my grows and just have a great time participating in such a fun competition! I wish you guys and girls great success and mush love <3 ![]() For all the shrooms, no matter which kind I like to use the same Agar recipe without any nutritional yeast: - 250ml distilled water (filterd tapwater is fine though) - 4gr LME - 4gr Agar As soon as I isolated a clean piece of mycelium I like to switch to a recipe with nutritional yeast: - 250ml distilled water (filterd tapwater is fine though) - 4gr LME - 4gr Agar - 0.25gr nutr. yeast I make it quite simple, a pan on the stove and fill it with the distilled Water and add my Agar-mixture. While it's heating up, I am constantly stirring it with a whisk. I won't let it get to a boil, just whisk it until alot of steam is coming up and it's shortly before boiling. You notice the liquid will foam a bit and clear up. After that I fill it inside my borosilic bottle and screw the cap on (I tighten the cap and then with a 1/4 turn open it again that the gasexchange during the pc cycle can happen) and place it with my tools and petri dishes inside my pc. I heat it up and once it starts to vent, I let it vent for 10 minutes. After that I turn the heat down to low, that I just here a quiet "shhhhhhhhhh" and let it pc for another 20 minutes. When it's done I put the petris in the oven at ~300°F for 15min (so any water can evaporate and I like working with warm dishes) and place the dishes hot with the hot Agar bottle in my SAB and pour the dishes as soon as I can comfortably hold the bottle (~130°F) and will let it cool as shown in the picture above. I will use this recipe through out the whole growlog. So I will only write it down here. I also like to use blue foodcoloring for an easier way for me to identify contams. It is not at all necessary and the mycelium will eat it up with time anyway. Ghost 1. January 2023: Inoculated with one Ghost swab from an awesome member two petri dishes: 11.January 2023: The Ghost swab seems to germ quite well Going to make the first transfer today from normal LMEA to LMEYA.24.January 2023: The two T1 transfers I made have shown two different growth as you can see in the pictures. One is Rhizo and the other tomentos. I transfered them today to grain and keept then seperated. What do you guys think will preform better? Yeti 11.January 2023: So I finally got to putting my yeti swab to agar: 24.January 2023: Also both of the Yeti germination plates have two very different growth, which I marked as A and B. Will also compare those two to each other as I will do with the Ghost. What do you guys/girls think will preform better? A or B? I made from each plate a T1 transfer today: 02.February 2023: Made T2 transfer today since it was looking kinda funky, sadly forgott to take the picture ![]() Starry Night 16.January 2023: So finally I got the Swabs I was waiting for I am so excited to finally grow Starry Night (Thanks to a wonderful members <3)! They came in the mail today at around 9 A.M and I just had to put them directly to Agar.Cyanescens "Wildcoast" 1. January 2023: Got a Wildcoast swab from an awesome member, it's a bit older but if it doesn't work he sent me a extra print. But I am optimistic even though I hate swabs :11.January 2023: The streaked dish germinated very well, going to make the first transfer today from normal LMEA to LMEYA. 01.February 2023 Although this plate looks a little bit funky, I decided to spawn it to grain. Cyanescens "Peace River" 11.January 2023: Finally got to putting some spores to agar: 24. January 2023: Made two T1 transfer today away from the germplate. 02.February 2023: Made T2 transfer today since it was looking kinda funky, sadly forgott to take the picture ![]() Panaeolus Bisporus 02.January 2023: 11.January 2023: My bispo germinated good aswell, also going to make the first transfer to LMEYA. 01.February 2023 Since this Bispo is looking already so beautiful on T1, I decided to spawn it to grain. Have been reading here on the Forum alot and talked to different people for how to proceed, since it's my first time with the woodlovers. I decided I was going to ferment the "Chipsi" beech-chips which I have bought a couple of days ago.Psilocybe Azurescens 02.January 2023: 11.January 2023: Germinating strong. Going to wait some longer before making transfers. 16.January 2023: Made T1 transfer today. 01.February 2023 The Azzys looked great, so I decided to put them to grain. Psilocybe Cyanescens 02.January 2023: 11.January 2023: Germinating strong. Going to wait some longer before making transfers. 16.January 2023: Made T1 transfer today. 01.February 2023 The Cyans are looking good enough for T1 to spawn it to grain. Psilocybe ovoideocystidiata 02.January 2023: 11.January 2023: Germinating strong. Going to wait some longer before making transfers. 16.January 2023: Made T1 transfer today. 01.February 2023 As well as the other two looked, also this one got put to grain today. Psilocybe Tampanensis "Beluha" 02.January 2023: 11.January 2023: Okay, got a tiny germination point on this dish, going to let it grow out before making a transfer. 16.January 2023: Over a couple of days more points of growth had shown and I made the T1 transfer today. 02.February 2023: Made T2 transfer today since it was looking kinda funky, sadly forgott to take the picture ![]() Psilocybe Semperviva 1. January 2023 Okay, every last dish I made from this print contaminated before I could isolate some clean mycelium. But I will give it a nother try anyway and inoculated two dishes today: 11.January 2023: Okay, as I was afraid. Everything contams when I try to inoculated the spores from that Semp print. Kinda sad, but I have to end my Semperviva growlog here... Have to wait until I can get a new print from somewhere or someone ^^. Psilocybe Natalensis 11.January 2023: So, finally found the time to put my Nat swab to agar: 24.January 2023: Made two T1 transfers today from this awesome Swab-germplate: 02.February 2023: The Nats are looking fantastic and going to be sent to grain today. -------------------- I am not crazy, I prefer the term mentally hillarious. Reserving my spot here!! I've been looking forward to this!
I will be attempting: Ps. Galindoi / ATL7 Ps. Cubensis - RustyWhyte Ps. Cubensis - Golden Teachers ![]() 1/1/2023 It Begins... 6 pp5 plates made today, two for each specimen. I used LME agar, 10g agar-agar, 8g malt extract, to 500ml water, with some charcoal to spice things up :3 Plates were poured several days ago in a SAB. I'm still trying to work out how best to make plates for me. I've tried no-pour pasty-plate style, and ended up with *way* too much condensation. I either can't see anything, or if I let it cool slowly, I just get pooling water on the plate. I ended up with a lot of bacterial contamination on the edges that way, almost a whole batch was thrown out. These plates were poured in a SAB a few days ago, and I ended up with about 50% visibly contaminated as of today. I think part of that can be improved with practice, but unfortunately, the whole box noticeably warmed up which can't be good for the whole "still" part of the "still air box". Today, using the best looking plates of the bunch, each plate got a drop of solution spread across it with the inoculation loop. So far, uneventful. 13/1/2023 Everything has germinated, except the RustyWhyte :[ The ATL7 seems a bit suspicious: it seems to be growing at the edge of the plate, which I don't think I hit with the loop. Maybe there was some water on the plate that washed it out to the edge? It does look like mycelium, and it is growing much too slow to be mold. The other ATL7 plate has a small speck as well, not as close to the edge, and it looks similar enough... If I end up culturing mold, I will look back and laugh I guess. I made 5 transfers: 3 golden teachers, 2 ATL7. I will try to get pictures, but no promises. [edit, no pictures ]20/1/2023 Everything is chugging along well. I don't think I'm culturing mold from the suspicious plate, so that's cool! So far, no signs of contamination on any plate, and about a half-inch of growth on everything! I might do another transfer soon, maybe even bite the bullet and take a small wedge to some grain ![]() 27/1/2023 I took wedges from the golden teachers and galindoi that had germinated, and have inoculated 1 qt grain jar each. I tried something new for me, which was using grass seed. I followed a recipe of 400ml of seed to 200ml of water, let it sit and PC. On a few jars, because I'm using an Instant Pot, I just put it straight in the IP: instead of letting the jar sit for an hour, then PC for another hour, I just put the IP on for 3 hours, which from some charts and reading seemed to be equivalent to 1 hour at 15PSI. ![]() [in hindsight, I think there was either too much water, or maybe it needed some shaking before going in the PC... the bottom of the jars are very compact, and no matter how much shaking, can not be broken up... ]Our hopes and dreams... I've given up on the rusty whyte.... It did not germinate. I tried throwing some more spores onto an extra half-pint of grain just to see if *something* would grow... And yes, I got some nice black mold for my troubles... Rusty, you will be missed. 2/2/2023 Waiting for the jars to colonize... It's very very slow... On an related note, I had made some non-LAGM LC, and put it in the same jars at the same time (27/1). Those LC jars have very quickly colonized the top half of the jars that could be shaken up. They are now slowly colonizing the bottom, compacted half, at around the same speed as the LAGM agar wedge jars. In light of that, I'm throwing some golden teacher and galindoi wedges into some LC and see if I can get usable jars in less time than waiting for these compacted MOFOs. ![]() ![]() ![]() Featuring: Pan Goliath Pan Nec-D Pan Hausteca Ps. Tampanensis Beulah Ps. Azurescens Ps. Cubensis Jack Frost Whatever else we stumble into in a stoned moment along the way 1st January: Spores streaked on agar dishes. Two dishes per variety. Gonna try to keep the plate workload as narrow as possible on this one. Happy New Year and let's get this show on the road fellas ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() 6th January: Germination on the Azurescens, very faint at the moment but visible as many colonies all across the streak line. No visible germ on anything else yet, except some bacteria on the Jack Frost plate where the swab meets the agar. Will report back as things come along enough for a photo ![]() 8th January: Germ also on the JF and the Goliath. Still nothing confirmable on the rest but I think I see a little something starting on some perhaps ![]() 13th January: Did the first transfers on the JF, Azur and Pan Goliath. Several transfers to each plate to cut down on the number of plates as much as possible. Zero germ on the Tampanensis, the other two there is a tiny spot, still to be determined. I am proceeding ahead, focusing on the three what we already have. I will restreak as it becomes convenient on the others and work on what is here if it becomes anything Will take pictures as we get something I can put to a jar of grain. I am always juggling picture space and pictures of early transfers are a little pointless IMHO Hope you guys don't mind. Good times16th January: Confirmed germ on the other three, Beulah, Hausteca, and Nec-D. Whether it is myc or mold remains to be seen. That is pretty slow for germ but I will take it any way I can get it on these At the moment the Jack Frost is the clear front runner for speed, really ridiculous thing it is, has already grown to coin size while the other things transferred on the same day have barely jumped off the transfer piece. Normally I would be suspicious but it looks very good and I may very well take a pic and send a small wedge of this T1 plate to a jar or two if it continues to look nice 19th January: The fast JF must be mold, or contamination with Pan spores. Growing out whispy and fast like a Pan, no colours or fruiting structures like pinheads appearing yet to indicate mold. The germ plate the T1 originated from has blown up with all kinds of funk that has turned green all the way up the swab handle. Will take a pic of the series tomorrow. I also have a second JF germ plate, that looks normal in pace like a cube and producing workable sectors which were also transferred on the 16th, so JF is still in play Beulah, Nec-D, and Hausteca were also transferred today, just the initial T1 also on those 1st February: Sent a couple of jars worth of Azure T1 to some rye, now we wait. Everything else still being worked up. The very fast JF was indeed mold, took the whole plate first looking like some whispy Pans and then finally many small pin pricks of green began appearing, was binned 6th March: So the documentation got away from me for a bit, but I have some updates. The Azure has been sent to wood and will be built up in layers until suitable temps are reached outdoors to basically plant the sub in the garden. Today I sent to grain the Beulah and Jack Frost. Nec-D and Goliath I have had on grain for over a month, they're terribly slow and may have to go back to spore on those. Hausteca I am fighting to get a reasonable plate to send still. I may re-streak all the Pans in the end. Must make some picture space so I can get a pic Edited by SingularFusion (03/06/23 11:46 AM)

I’m in this year. I’ll be growing two varieties that are new to me. Squat Melmac and Paneolous Bisporous.
1/2 I’m a day behind but was able to put some spores on plates tonight. I’ve had good luck lately with jamming the swab into the agar. I usually end up with a bit of bacteria to transfer away from but most of the time it goes rhyzo off the germ plate. 1/8 I had good germination on all of my plates along with some mold and bacteria. Transferred to new plates even though some of the mold was sporulating. We’ll see if I can get away from it. I germed another Melmac plate because those seemed to be the most contaminated. Also moved the swab I stuck into agar onto a new plate because there was good germination off the swab. I’m just having fun with it. One of the bisporous plates look super clean so I’m going to leave it for a couple more days to find some fast genetics. 1/13 Little late on this update but I took two transfers from these plates the one plate is the squat Melmac swab that I moved from a really contaminated plate. It’s growing out real clean now so I’m thinking one or two transfers then to LC and/or grain. Haven’t decided which yet. The bisporous plate is real clean too so I may go to LC off this next plate. 1/23 T2’s on my squat Mac. They’re starting to clean up nice Went to grain and LC with the bisporous. Hell yeah! I been wanting to get in on this on time this year.
Cubes: blue meanie, PE, BK Mak(failed to germ),Thai koh Samui, Creeper, & hillbilly. *Adding- ghost, SYZYGY, BK Mak, Melmac TP Menace, wave6, tidalwave. Pans: Jamaican (failed to germ) *Adding- pan bisporus and BVI.* Exotic: semperviva, Natalensis *BFCU Challenge- Golden teacher(dropping the challenge to grow a better mushroom.) I'm sure I'll get more going but I think that will work to get me started. I'll be prepping plates tonight. Hopefully bigfootscreepyuncl is ok. TL;DR versionI thought this thread died a few months back. I have stopped all cult work for an extended period of time. This was a fun journey hopefully I'm back up and running for next year. On agar- Tidalwave trashed. trying again later In sslc- Bispo contaminated Semps still fucking waiting for fruit Mak tp contaminated On grain- Waiting for spores to arrive- maybe I'll have these in time for next year's event. gave up on receiving these spores now. I don't even want these now. Thai koh Samui never showed up Creeper never showed up Spawned PE sslc 1-27 harvested Melmac tp 2-3 contamed Hillbilly 2-7 harvested Blue meanie(cube) 2-12 grew enigma type fruit Semperviva #1 2-12 still waiting to mature Wave 6 2-27 contamed Semperviva #2 3-17 contamed BVI 3-18 harvested SYZYGY 4-10 Menace 4-10 Hillbilly clone 1 4-10 Hillbilly clone 2 4-10 Incoming flush- Ghost: nice pinset so far Semps: waiting for spores and maturing. ![]() I must have been high as shit last light cause I swore I updated what I did but this morning it's not here. I hope I didn't post somewhere else. Anyway, it begins! I'm probably going to sub out some of the cubes. I was hoping to get some from another member but being they are from another country the post office is taking their time getting them to me. I'll start them up when I get them but I picked a few more to start with. Jan 5th. Not much to report other than a bit of growth on a couple plates. Hillbilly has growth but in 1 sector it's not looking like the growth I'm hoping for. PE has growth and is looking good so far but still too early to be certain. I'll post pics when I get the transfers done if they are good. Jan 9th update. I completed transfers of hillbilly, blue meanie, PE, tidalwave, semperviva, and melmac. I'm still waiting on my pan Jamaican, and bkmak to germinate. PE looked super clean so I'm taking a chance doing a sslc with it and a transfer as well for backup. I'm also waiting for a few spores still but so far I think I got a decent amount started. Jan 16th update I'm keeping pictures to a minimum since I'm limited on space but I will post some when it gets interesting. I started 2 more sslc 1 melmac, and 1 semperviva since t2 transfers looked amazing. PE sslc looks good and I am checking on agar to confirm. This will go to grain in a couple of days if it proves clean. I did t3 transfers of hillbilly, tidalwave, and blue meanie since the t2 still looked suspect. I also started wave6(tidalwave and pe6) from a swab giveaway by Cooleko (thanks again). Still waiting on a few more spores to arrive from across the pond. 1-19 update PE sslc tests are clean! Going to grain tomorrow. 1-20 update. PE sslc went to 2 quarts of millet today. All t3 plates are clean, now to wait for it to expand enough to transfer to grain. I'll be prepping a few qts of grain for a big melmac run and for shoeboxes of everything else. 1-23 update Hillbilly went to grain. Wave6 has been germinated and transferred. I added SYZYGY and Menace to agar cause I could. 1-25 Got a hillbilly plate pin already! My dumb ass pulled the plate pin for a clone and threw out agar so I could add the holy grail plate to my no pour session yesterday. So no picture of the plate before. It split when I was trying to cut the base off the agar. There was a contaminate about 1/4 inch away. Here is the pic of the plin I cloned. 1-27 update PE sslc it's going to bulk tonight. I'm impressed with sslc. It started off slow for 3 or 4 days then it took off and colonized fast as hell. 2-3 update Hillbilly grain jars were shaken. Semps sslc is on grain and looking good! Blue meanie is on grain. Melmac TP is heading to shoeboxes. I was going to do 1 big mono but they look slightly suspect, so to be safe I'll split them up to their own box. T1 transfers of SYZYGY, menace, and another t1 from wave 6 since really nice rhizo popped up on the germination plate. BVI has germinated as well as ghost but ghost has more bacteria then myc so I'll try to clean it with transfers and water agar as time goes on. I still have other projects going at this time so I'm maxing out what I can do but I plan on getting through all of these at some point this year. 2-6 update Making more grain jars today, and once cool I'll be adding the sslc of bisporus and semp to the grains. It looks like bk mak is actually germinating on my second attempt with fresher spores(thanks fahtster!) Ghost (thank you Hillbillyoutlaw!) germinated and looks like the transfer was clean. Hillbilly jar is recovering after shaking but I see a touch of moisture on one side of the jar so I might toss it. Blue meanie was shaken yesterday. PE is colonizing the shoeboxes nicely as well. I think wave 6 will be next to go to grain. Well I overcooked my grains. They were like mush at the bottom so I'm trashing them and doing them over tomorrow. 2-7 update So my failures continues with the PC. I attempted to do no pour condiment cups with pp5 lids. I guess I put them on too tight cause everyone popped open and flipped on the PC. Luckily it wasn't a total waste as I also ran a few holy grail plates as well. On the other hand I also cooked up new grain and it looks ok. I've made better but I tried a new tek. I'll be going back to the original I was using from now on. Anyway I spawned hillbilly to a shoebox today. Blue meanie is looking good on grain and recovering after a shake. I'm about maxed out with room for growing at the moment so I hope something finishes soon. 2-12 update Blue meanie and semps were spawned to a shoebox. I lost 2 of 5 PE shoeboxes to trich. Good thing it was different spawn that I had doubts about and new coir that I don't think was good. It smelled of mildew when I opened the package but I ran it anyway but only in the 2 that contaminated. I have a good transfer of ghost from HBO but I'll transfer a few more times to be sure it's clean. Bk mak is germinating so I'll give it a day or two before doing a few transfers. SYZYGY is looking sus so I may have transferred mold instead of myc. BVI is looking ok so far but still needs 1 more transfer to make sure it's clean. Menace I believe I have a good t2 transfer. 2-13 update I felt comfortable with the bispo sslc after testing on agar so it went to grain today. Everything seems to be colonizing subs well. I dropped a shoebox of PE so I'm thinking I might be down another but I scooped up what I could and put it back together the best I could. Time will tell if it's ok. 2-16 Man I forgot how fast regular cubes are compared to melmac and some other slow growers. Blue meanie shoebox PE-dropped shoebox recovering nicely! Another PE shoebox started getting knotty. Not many but still a few in there. 2-17 update Did some more transfers. I found 2 plate pins on wave 6 so I cloned them. I'll probably run the pin clones and get rid of the other plates. Ghost from HBO is looking very nice and rhizo as hell. BK Mak is on t1 and looking nice. As far as the shoeboxes, semps and blue meanie are 80% colonized, hillbilly is about 40%, 1 melmac looks like it might have cobweb, others are about 50-60% colonized, PE are knotting up a bit more. I'm not looking the coir I switched up to. It has an off smell every time I hydrate it, and I'm finding a bunch of stones in it. I'll be going back to canacoir. My verm is full of sticks and wood chips, I guess that was why it was cheap. I could be getting contams from the pieces of wood so I'll leave that out the next time I do a shoebox. I only have bisporus on grain ATM but I'll change that once these plates look good. Here are the plate pins on the wave 6 plate 2-18 update I ran 7 jars of millet through the PC today. Somehow a lid came off one of the jars while I was removing it and hot millet went everywhere. After 3 hours of cleaning I managed to get every grain off the floor and in the stove to the trash bin. I tried a different way of prepping my millet and if works out well I'll do a write up. I decided to run the wave 6 plate I had since I had grain to use up from a week or so ago. After this I think I'm going to focus on more exotics rather than cubes. 2-21 update I was not going to include GT but after trying to revive a dried up plate without success, I had to go back to spores. I figured why the hell not add it to the mix for BFCU grow challenge. I streaked up a couple plates today while I added a few more cultures to my long term water storage library. 2-23 update Got some PE pins going on along with a blob in the corner. Hillbilly is also doing it's primordia thing. I shook the wave 6 and bisporus jars. Oh and I bought a new pressure cooker. I am getting a new pesto 23qt since my other one is complete shit. Melmac TP tubs some look ok some aren't colonizing the top layer, so I'm thinking they are screwed. 2-25 update Melmac TP tubs all have a slight almost cobweb type film on the top layer. I scraped 1 to see what happens. Usually if I mess with trich it explodes the next day, so I will see if it is trich soon enough. It has to be the wood bits in the Vermiculite causing issues. Hillbilly is throwing some good looking pins, blue meanie is still knotting up and a few more primordia are popping, PE has more pins and the older ones are looking good. I'll have to dubtub them soon. The dropped PE shoebox is still looking clean, but the surface is really uneven and not showing any pins yet. Semps are being semps and doing nothing. Wave 6 jars are reviving nicely and probably need 3 or 4 days before spawning. GT plates have germinated and will be ready for t1 in a day or two. 2-27 Contams are showing in different ways in all my shoeboxes so I'm going to let them run until I get a flush or they turn green. PE shoebox looking sparse but I got a few pins and more show up every day. Hillbilly shoebox Nice clusters but I think if it wasn't bacterial I would have gotten a better canopy. Definitely some clone candidates in here though. Semps looking ok, hopefully they look good until I get some shrooms. Wave 6 went to a shoebox sans the Vermiculite. BVI & ghost are on final transfer before sending to grain. 3-1 update Fuck yeah, my new pesto 23 PC arrived today. I banged out some jars of oats with it and am waiting for them to cool. I also pulled plate pins from SYZYGY and Menace today and threw them into new plates. Bk mak is on t3 transfer looking a bit unorganized but I picked what I thought was good sectors. PE is looking ok. Still a couple of blobs but I got some shrooms too. Hillbilly shoebox is looking really nice but still way young. Semps still sitting still. Mac tp has 1 pin and a few knots. Wave 6 is colonizing well without the verm. Blue meanie is blobbing out which I expect it to contam out any day now but I'll wait and see how it goes. Gt transfer to t1 today as well. Busy day today getting everything done. Looking forward to a much needed trip this weekend. 3-3 update Hillbilly really kicked into gear and threw the lids off the shoeboxes. PE got big enough to need the lid removed. I put both into a bigger mono that gives just enough head space to finish up growing. Threw some more semps to grain along with ghost from HBO and other projects. Oh and semps have knots forming so that's exciting. 3-4 update I harvested a bit of the hillbilly and 1 shoebox of PE. I hit 100g wet of PE, and still waiting till the full flush is ready of hillbilly. Here's the PE harvest 3-6 update My dropped PE shoebox seems like it decided to put some pins and blobs to surprise me. Hillbilly shoebox is throwing some strange phenos I'm digging. I'm sure it's due to bacterial spawn. I have them in a water tub with a shitload of FAE so I don't know why it looks like they are wearing wool leggings. Blue meanie blobs are looking crazy. I tried one and I'm hoping it is strong. 3-11 update. I harvested my hillbilly the other day and got 237g wet from the shoebox. I ate a 4g mushroom while harvesting and felt great for a few hours. I tried them dried last night and 2g dry and they kicked my ass! I think I hit the genetic lottery with these. They are strong, grow fast, and have solid stipes. I made 2 clones of them with different phenos and will be running full size tubs soon. Once they grow out I will print them if everything looks clean. Oh and 2 days after harvest I have a 2nd flush starting. Like I said fast! I harvested the blue meanie blobs and got 17g dry from the box. I have not tested them yet. Semps I have 1 pin and a ton of blobs that aren't growing. I have more grain colonizing which I hope is not bacterial. I dropped the golden teacher for BFCU challenge because I want to run the hillbilly and only had space for 1 of them. PE boxes are still producing some nice looking shrooms. I might try them next weekend to see if they are potent or not. Melmac TP all boxes have pins but they seemed to have stalled. Wave 6 box is colonized and now I'm waiting for knots and pins to show up. As for what's on grain, semps, BVI and ghost. Up for grain next is hillbilly clones, SYZYGY, bk mak, and Menace. I also have fp+, mak118, and jack frost, ps.cyan but I didn't start them from spores for lagm23 so I can't count them. Bisporus is out, it turned green. 3-17 update Hillbilly is kicking ass! 2nd flush is harvested and looks amazing. My only compliant is they look to be steril. I spawned another shoebox of semps. As for blue meanie, I am wondering if I made an enigma variant of it. I'm going to clone it and see if I can keep it going. It is pretty potent but not as potent as the hillbilly. The whole box looks like this even after scraping the blobs off. They just keep growing on top of each other. 3-19 update BVI went to bulk. SYZYGY, Menace, and both hillbilly clones went to grain. Ghost is still colonizing grains but looks really healthy and recovered in less than 24 hours so no worries with this. I have a few pins with my semps so I cased it and started to get more pins. I also made another semp shoebox with healthier spawn. More pins on all melmac tp but they aren't getting past that size. Wave 6 is knotted up and some primordia are showing. Looking forward to trying new species of semps and pans! 3-24 update Semps box 1 are going well. BVI is colonizing nicely. I trashed my melmac tp, PE, and blue meanie bins. Hillbilly is rocking another flush(#3) which will be the last. Wave 6 is growing and looking good. Ghost is going to bulk tomorrow. I noced up some grain with a new melmac tp, and pan bisporus. Here is a big semp I have in box 1. 4-4 update. Semps are growing in nicely! I have BVI pins and it's doing well so far. Ghost is doing great as I see some pins forming. SYZYGY and Menace will be spawned in the next couple days along with 2 clones of hillbilly. I am germinating Orissa, Natalensis(2 different spore samples) and mixed some melmac tp with Natalensis spores together to see if I can get a cross, and playa x fiji. The list continues to grow, and I'm starting to lose track of what I want to do next. First flush of wave 6 will be taken in the next few days. It doesn't look promising for a 2nd but I will let it ride. 4-10 Hillbilly 1&2, SYZYGY, Menace all spawned today. T1 taken of Orissa, Natalensis 1&2, Natalensis x melmac tp, playa x fiji, and melmac tp(yet again). Ghost is doing great with an awesome pinset coming in. BVI was partially harvested and tested with a small dose of 5g wet. It was like a level 1 or 2 cube trip. Not bad but not what I was expecting. I was told they are all visual and not a body or mind trip, not so I'm my experience. Semps will be the next ones tested. Anyway here are some pictures. 4-21-23 update Ghost is getting ready for harvest! I have SYZYGY, 2 Hillbilly clones, and Menace in monotubs now with healthy pinsets. I'm working on cleaning up Orissa India, Amazon, melmac tp x Natalensis, and Natalensis on agar now. Bk mak still needs to be cleaned up. I just did another transfer, hopefully the last one. I'm going to get some Gandalf and Phobos on agar soon. 9-1 what's up people!? Any prizes yet? Edited by Bigworm (09/01/23 10:19 PM)

Reserving a spot. Species and strains undecided right this second. Hopefully my agar plates are still adequately hydrated so I can try to germinate on the first.
1/2/23: I have decided on what I will be growing from spores for this years grow along. I actually am waiting on the spores for most of these so I’ll be going to agar when the last of them arrive. Also, since this is the year of pans for me, I’ll be building a climate controlled room in my house for my greenhouse, so I’ll be probably delayed a little while as I get that going. If this disqualifies me from participating I understand. My plans for the grows: Panaeolus bisporus Panaeolus cambodginiensis : Thailand, Suphanburi Goliath Panaeolus cyanescens : Hawaiian Panaeolus cyanescens : Estero Panaeolus cyanescens : Haust Venom Panaeolus cyanescens : Blue Springs FL Psilocybe subtropicalis Psilocybe mexicana: Jalisco Psilocybe ATL#7 -------------------- Tweeq’s wood lovers | Recipes | Moopers nats notes | Moopers subtrop notes | Milkboy gummies Edited by BlueAndOrange (01/02/23 01:25 PM)

I'll be growing
Bunch of stuff to do. My hood looks a little beat up. Its about 6 years old. I actually built it right before I took a break. I don't think I ever actually used it up until September. I did a test plate last week with 0 contams. So I should be fine. P. Cubensis - Ape Jan 1/23 Went a little overboard with the syringe. Aa x rusty whyte Jan 1/1 Print to agar Jan 1/9 Growth begins Jan 1/16 T0 transfer to grain Pearly gates Jan 1/1 Less is more. This is the amount I use from a swab to inoculate a plate. Flipper f2 Jan 1/1 All the rest with Jan 1 date have all been inoculated. Im not feeling doing a separate pic for each one. Jan 1/9 Growth Jan 1/16 T0 transfer to grain Hillbilly Jan 1/1 I normally don't grow non albino cubes but someone I made a recent trade with said this cube is crazy potent. Jan 1/9 T0 transfer to grain Jan 1/1 Jack frost Jan 1/1 Growth Yeti 2 x Albino Blackhawk getto cross attempt Jan 1/1 So I had yeti and albino blackhawk fruiting at the same time so I made swabs from them doing one then the other onto each swab. I doubt it'll work or ill even be able to tell if it does work. Im just messing around. Growth so i typically take the cotton i deposited from a swab and transfer it to a new plate Jan 1/9 Growth Jan 1/16 T0 transfer to grain Jan 1/1 Omni x PEU Jan 1/9 There was no mention of cubes that require a culture to start P. Mexicana - Atl7 Jan 1/1 Posiedon atl7 x tamp Jan 1/1 Chicon Nindo Jan 1/1 Spores are from an almost 11 year old syringe. I managed to resurrect it in this thread. I still had a syringe under pressure from aug 16th. Pan. cyan. - Wild coast Jan 1/9 P. natalensis Jan 1/9 P. Natalensis x P. Cubensis - Yellow umbra Jan 1/9 Jan 1/16 Got trich on my plate, but growth has started ill have to transfer when I get a chance P. Subtropicalis Jan 1/9 Ps. cyan. Jan 1/9 Most of the above is ungrown by me except for the mexicana and ape. Edited by OlSk00lFarmer (01/16/23 03:39 PM)

I'll reserve a spot but keep it simple as I have a lot going on right now.
Cubes: ghost and yeti Pans: pan cyan "estero" and panaeolus camboginiensis Woodlover: psilocybe azurescens andd cyanescens Might even start some shiitake 75 I was gifted and see what I can do with that. Wanna make my own dowels. Made a shiitake log years ago but forgot where I put it in my garden. OK, maybe that isn't that simple. Hope bigfootscreepyuncle recovers quickly. Mush love fam.

12/30:
I'm just here for moral support ![]() And to laugh at bigfoot Current list of grows:(last updated 2/27) -Pan bisporus, lots of plates going. 3 rye and straw bottles cased about a week ago. 2 rye and coir bottles cased a few days ago -Ps caerulescens, still waiting on germination on 3rd sets of plates -Jack Frost, still suspected to be a different species going to rye abd HWFP in the next few days -wild Ps tampanensis, spores germinated, transferring in the next few days -wild Ps neoxalapensis, spores waiting on germination 12/31: Ok, I've decided to join. In honour of bigfoot's tragic accident. Here's what I'll be running. Did some fresh no-pours yesterday, they looked pretty good this morning. So I'm ready for tomorrow. 1/1: It's on like Donkey Kong and I expect a lot of contam on these. The swab handle just crumbled and I burned through the bags with the loop on both prints Bonus: Stuff started before I decided to join 1/5: So as I predicted lots of contam. Pretty sure the JF swabs are bad, just full of bacteria where I streaked. One of the Ps caerulescens plates is still clean and I have germ on a Pan bisporus plate but too thin to take a pic. I'll try the second JF swab and some more caerulescens plates today. 1/5 Update 2: Alright, 4 more of each Jack Frost and caerulescens done. BONUS: got germ on an ESS plate and a couple of Ps subtropicalis/semperviva plates from the bonus set inoculated before start date Pics in the next few days 1/6: Pan bisporus germination Bonus: Ps subtropicalis/semperviva and cubensis (ESS) with a hitchhiker. Transferring ESS today 1/10 Seems like both my Jack Frost swabs are a bust. Ps caerulescens plates still look clean but no germ yet Transferring this bisporus tonight 1/16: Jack Frost with the germ outta nowhere over bacteria and shit I'll be honest, I'm not 100% sure it's cube myc but I'll transfer anyway. Tomorrow. A look at the Pan bisporus T1s No germ on caerulescens yet but the plates are still nice and clean. 1/21: Transferred off the nasty Jack Frost plate a couple of days ago but forgot to update 1/23: Pan bispo T1s looking pretty good, I guess.... I'll prep some rye and straw bottles in the next couple of days. My suspicions about the Jack Frost plate not being cube myc seems ever more likely to be true What might not be readily obvious in these pics is the outer ring of extremely thin wispy mycelium that is about 2-3 times the diameter of the more visible myc. 1/24: Prepping bottles for Pan bispo Cup and a half of rye, about 1L of water and some coffee 3 cups straw pellets Mixed Loaded. PC is heating up right now, I'm gonna go smoke a big joint. 1/25 Pan bispo sent to bottles and back up plates. 1/26: Still unsure what to make of this "Jack Frost". I haven't seen cube myc grow this disorganized but it's also not turning any funny colors and the colonization speed seems about right for cubes, I'd expect molds to be a lot more aggressive as they have been in my encounters with them 1/29: Pan bispo taking off. Only wedge I can get a good look at in all 3 bottles. Probably gonna shake in the next couple of days spread some of that colonized grain around. 1/29 (part 2): Jack Frost T2 transfers taken. Meant to do two from each plate but seems I miscounted and brought too few fresh plates in the box. This shit still don't look right to me and it don't smell mushroomy at all. 2/6: Jack Frost still looks weird AF but more recognizably like cube myc than the previous transfers. Pan bispo in rye and straw bottles, plus the back up plates. Each set of two plates corresponds to one of the bottles. I did a third set of germ plates for Ps caerulescens today as its been over a month since the last attempt with no results. Softer agar this time around. If this doesn't work I'm cutting the paper print into 4 and putting them directly on plates. 2/11: "Jack Frost" transfer to fresh plates. Still looks weird to me, has a weird smell too but it's not turning any funny colours. I don't know, I guess I'm going to grain with the T3s I made today. T2 T1 I've kept around for observation 2/15: Pan bispo finished colonization yesterday after 20 days from A2G. Gonna let them consolidate till the weekend then case. 2/19 Jack Frost still doesn't look right. I was asking Nichrome for some advice on this and he suggested I might have poplar or tarragon oyster based on mycelium morphology and distinct odor. I'll be going to rye and HWFP bottles with them and see what grows Pan bispo cased today 2/23: Late addition to the party 2/27: Another late addition to the party, kinda forgot to include it when I started it on Feb 20th. Wild Ps tampanensis. Pictured Feb 24th And today 2/27 part 2: Dropped the "Jack Frost"/suspected Pleurotus into rye and HWFP bottles. 3/11: My only surviving "Jack Frost" on rye and HWFP jar has been cased, the other two got Penicillium. This was one of the sessions where I bumped my SAB, which I've been doing a lot lately. Still doesn't look like cubensis mycelium and the smell of licorice or vanilla extract is so strong. Cultures
- AA+ - ATL7 - Columbian Rust Spore - Huatla - Natalensis - Nepal Chitwan Prep Log 26 Dec Prepped agar in (2) 500ml media bottles, run for 45 mins in IP with a 15 min vent, recipe: 400ml grain water (oats), 7g agar, 1g LME, 4 drops green food coloring. Poured 30 plates in a SAB as soon as the media bottles were comfortable to hold (~130°). These plates have lots of sediment in them, I should've filtered the grain water beforehand ![]() I poured these a bit hotter than usual thinking that the condensation would clear up after 5 days sitting in the SAB but they did not. Most plates have that annoying fine mist of condensation on the lid. Have to go back to pouring ~ 120° and being quick about it before the agar sets. 05 Jan Prepped more plates for T1s. I changed things up a bit because I want to simplify the recipe. To date I've been using grain water left over from prepping oats but haven't been using oats for a few months now (switched to millet), so I've been boiling oats just for agar prep. This batch I went with LME (2%) for nutes, poured 20 plates. 07 Jan Im second guessing my decision to switch agar recipes without having side-by-side comparisons against my current recipe, so I prepped up 10 plates with grain water. When I transfer the T1s Ill use 1 of each. Also pulled the trigger on some pp5 dishes today, might have to try no-pours for my T2s. 09 Jan A decent number of the T1 plates have moisture collecting around the transfer wedge, leaned the plates on their sides to move the water away so the myc can expand. 10 Jan Moisture has moved away from the transfer wedge on the T1s, and see translucent myc grown out about 7mm all around the wedge. Maybe the myc was growing into the agar near the surface? 24 Jan PC'd 5 pint jars of millet, no-prep style: 2/3 cup of millet, 1/3 cup of water. 25 Jan Starting to run low on millet so time to start using up the oats that have been sitting idle the past few months. Rinsed 9 cups of oats, boiled for 30 mins, tossed them in a mesh bag and let them dry out for ~ 8 hours. This was enough for 5 pint jars and 4 quart jars with a bit left over. Since I'll be moving off of millet until the oats get low I'll toss each plate to both types of grain, get a comparison. 27 Jan Prepped some SSLC into 4 half-pints: 0.2% agar, 0.2% LME, split 400ml across the 4 jars. They're a little stiff but hopefully will work. I don't use LC much but figure it's something I should get more familiar with. I don't have room to expand dozens of jars so went small time on the volume. I'll Jose poke a few cultures as they're going to grains and see what comes of these. I ordered PP5 petris dishes a few weeks back, tried some no-pours today with 10 of them (most I could stack in my PC), 2% agar, 2% LME. Due to an oversight 9 made it through ok, but the bottom one drowned. Theyre hanging out in the SAB, hopefully some of the condensation clears up before I need them but it doesn't look terrible. I miscalculated how much agar I'd need and had enough left over to use it in some no-pours container I bought last year and never used. They're advertised as pp5 slime containers I think? Not a big fan of these since they're much smaller than the 90 mm disposable petris I'm used to, but might throw a few transfers on them to see if they're functional enough. I'm trying to cut down on waste this year, so hopefully I can get the hang of these no pours. The holy grails looked interesting but after seeing the PP5 petris, I think I'm going to like these a lot once I get over the price ($18 for 12). 28 Jan Time to put some of the grains and sslc to work - taking the 5 best looking cultures. SAB was a little hard to work in today with all the goods loaded. 19 Feb I recently tried a few bottle tek grow with nats that are moving along nicely so I prepped a few more for use in LAGM since I have a few SSLCs in the mix. Im using the Ziploc Twist & Loc 2qts with a 50/50 mix of hydrated oats and CV, PC'd for 3 hours (Nesco canning PC). 01 Jan I figured it was time to try creating some swabs, so I ordered a box and swabbed a recent flush. I used a single swab to inoculate 3 plates: - the first one I dragged it around the plate in a Z with a few more drags top to bottom - used sterilized water from a syringe to wet the swab and noc'd up 2 more plates with a similar pattern 05 Jan Spores are germinating on all 3 plates. The first plate with a dry swab has notably less germed spores than the 2 plates noc'd with a wet swab, let's see if the nat plates show similar effect. I dragged around too much on these plates, having germ points all growing into each other makes it a bit harder to see different morphologies and grab something that looks good. Got a little paranoid about wanting to be sure I laid down enough spores I guess. 09 Jan Took transfers from 2 of the germ plates, from each germ plate: - took 2 transfers onto a LME plate - took 2 transfers onto a GW plate Resulting in 4 new T1 plates Ive been doubling up the T1 transfers to reduce the # of plates used - seems to give each wedge space to grow out enough to select for T2s before they start running into each other. 15 Jan Took 4 transfers from 2 of the better looking T1 plate's, each got their own plate. 20 Jan None of the T2s have shown any sign of growth from the transfer wedge placed upside down on the receiving plate. Ive had this happen a few times the past month or so and not sure of the cause. If others have seen this and figured it out, lmk. Maybe I transfered mold and it's easily smothered? I'll hold onto plates for a while, see if anything shows itself, contams or otherwise. 28 Jan No signs of growth on the T2s. The unused germ plate is starting to knot, took a few transfers into no-pours. Also went back to the better looking T1 and took 2 transfers into no-pours. 01 Mar Late update on these but ditched all the current cultures, they grew out very thick on the plates. Not sure if its mold or not, but its more dense than I typically see from mold. I started with a fresh swab from a recent flush thats looking a lot better behaved: Took T1s from that to 3 new plates. 01 Jan 3 plates - spore print from a flush in Jun 2022 using a loop 07 Jan All 3 plates showing germination, one colony is is large enough that I must've missed it on yesterday's check, or I've got a contam, have to keep an eye on this one. 15 Jan The germ plates got lost for a week or 2, somehow got mixed into another pile. Anyway, they're found and the germ plate is looking clean and ready for T1 transfers, took 3, each onto their own plate. 27 Jan 2 T1s that are looking pretty good: 28 Jan Sent the 2 plates pictured above (T1s) to grains, lets see if I got a little too eager on these. For each plate I put 1/4 of the culture to a pint of millet and 1/4 to a pint of oats. Also, no doubt pushing my luck, I jose poked the culture in the first pic to sslc. 05 Feb On 3 of the 4 jars the agar wedge didnt get buried in the middle, looking good so far: Oats: Millet: SSLC: I always enjoy watching ATL on agar and grains, so uniform in its growth. I shouldn't be surprised that the growth in LC is perfect little spherical puff-balls (hard to tell in that shot). Or maybe thats what mold looks like 06 Feb I have to do a better job of managing plates, this one ended up in a different pile: Ill toss this onto grains today or tomorrow. 09 Feb Shook the all the jars, here's a few : 11 Feb SSLC looked ready to throw on grains: Tossed on: (2) quart jars of oats, (1) pint jar of oats, (1) pint jar of millet. 16 Feb Inoculated a few more grain jars with the donor photographed on the 6th. 19 Feb Decided to use some of the SSLC on a bottle-tek grow (see prep log), inoculated a 2qt ziploc container with 20ml or so. 26 Feb 3 jars have started to develop stones on the glass, even though one is not fully colonized yet: The SSLC jars are ~ 90% colonized, no stones yet. Ill let all the ATL#7 jars chill for a month or so, see how the stones develop, then send to bulk if they're still looking good. 04 Mar 6 of the 7 jars have stones, 1 jar looking a bit sketchy. 19 Mar These jars spawned today: Each jar spawned to a 5 cup tupperware bowl: - sub: pasteurized hpoo/cv (1:2) that was prepared 7 days earlier - spawn/sub ratio: 1:1 - lid placed on bowl with micropore tape 26 Mar 3/5 have fully colonized the sub: - cased with pasteurized cactus soil barely enough to cover - placed into JCM 01 Apr Remaining 2 tubs colonized the sub: - cased with pasteurized cactus soil barely enough to cover - placed into JCM 11 Apr First 3 tubs ready for harvest: 2 tubs are thin, spaghetti, with smaller caps. 1 tub has more typical (for me) fruits, a bit thicker stipes, decent sized caps. Yield (all 3 tubs): 110g wet, 9.4g dry (8.5%) Remaining 2 tubs coming along, will be harvesting in a few days. 01 Jan 2 plates - spore print from a flush in Nov 2022 using a loop 04 Jan Spores are germinating, started showing growth today on both plates 09 Jan Took transfers from 1 of the germ plates: - took 2 transfers onto a LME plate - took 2 transfers onto a GW plate Resulting in 2 new T1 plates 15 Jan The T1s are looking rough, going to let them sit a bit longer see if any interesting growth shows itself, otherwise Im going to end their run in LAGM. 21 Jan One of the colonies on a T1 plate showed some promise, took 2 transfers resulting in 2 new T2 plates. 05 Feb Hard to see on this crappy photo, but getting some better looking growth on a T1 (no-pour "slime container", not a fan of these, the lids are too hard to get off during transfers): 19 Feb Missed an update on these but prepped some T2s on the 8th (4 plates), they're slow, but looking good. Ill likely get these on grains some time this week. Ive been using PP5 petris, no-pour, with good success for the past few weeks. The clingwrap doesnt like to stick to them very well on the first pass, but otherwise no complaints so far. 26 Feb T2s sent to SSLC (1/2 pint, ~ 80ml) and grain today (1 pint, 1 quart): I poured the pp5 plates way too thin, couldn't get the wedges off as a single piece. When no-pour prepping these I poured until about 1/3 full, but need to pay more attention to this on future preps. 01 Jan 2 plates - MSS dated 8/22 - first time Ive used this syringe 08 Jan First signs of growth on one plate. 16 Jan Took 2 transfers from the GW plate, each transfer got their own plate (T1). 27 Jan 2 good looking T2s 28 Jan Sent the 2 plates pictured above (T2s) to grains and sslc. For the culture in the first pic above I jose poke'd it to sslc, and for both I took 1/4 wedge to a pint of millet and 1/4 wedge to a pint of oats. 05 Feb Seeing decent growth on one of the oat jars: Agar wedge buried in the other jars and not visible yet. SSLC: Im a total noob on LC, but its looking ok so far. 09 Feb Shook up all the jars, this growth looks a little suspect: 11 Feb SSLC looks ready for grains: Tossed on: (2) quart jars of oats, (1) pint jar of oats, (1) pint jar of millet. 19 Feb Used the SSLC to inoculate 2 bottle-tek grows. Jars are all looking pretty suspect, the SSLC is definitely subpar. not expecting much out of these. 03 Apr Shoebox ready for harvest, lots of mutant short fruits. SSLC was definitely subpar. 09 Apr 10 Apr Bottle teks finally fruited 01 Jan 2 plates - MSS dated 5/21 - mostly just to see if the spores are still good 2 plates - spore print from Dec 2021 - I fucked up, I was going to use an Amazonian print but somehow this one ended up in my LAGM pile instead and decided to just go with it 05 Jan 3 out of 4 plates have germinated 07 Jan 4th plate showing growth 09 Jan Took transfers from 1 of the spore print germ plates: - took 2 transfers onto a LME plate - took 2 transfers onto a GW plate Resulting in 2 new T1 plates Afternoon: Took transfers from 1 of the MSS germ plates: - took 2 transfers onto a LME plate - took 2 transfers onto a GW plate Resulting in 2 new T1 plates 28 Jan All the plates are looking pretty rough, especially those from MSS. Im going to abandon these cultures and switch to spores I grabbed with a swab last week from a recent flush of Huatla. Noc'd up 2 PP5 petri no-pours. 01 Jan 2 plates - swab from a flush that just finished last night, lets test more swabs! 05 Jan 1 out of 2 plates have germinated 09 Jan Took transfers from the one plate that germ'd: - took 2 transfers onto a LME plate - took 2 transfers onto a GW plate Resulting in 2 new T1 plates 16 Jan Took a single transfer from each of the T1s best looking growth. Resulting in 2 new T2 plates. 27 Jan T2 showing a pattern I see often, especially on the early transfers (T1-T3): 28 Jan Sent the plate pictured above (T2) to grains: 1/4 wedge to pint of millet, 1/4 wedge to a pint of oats. 05 Feb Agar buried in the millet, no visible growth, but moving along on oats: 09 Feb Shook the jars today: 26 Feb Waiting for the top grains to colonize, otherwise they look ready to go to bulk. I may just scrape them off and go for it anyway. 03 Mar Sent these 2 pint jars to bulk: Each pint jar went to its own 1/2 gallon glass container with ~1.25 qts of CV (1:2 with 0.25 qt top coat). Waiting on the SSLC'd quarts to finish colonizing the top grains. 01 Apr Only 1 container made it to fruiting, the other tapped out with green. This one obviously not so healthy: Edited by offworld (04/14/23 11:18 PM)

Kevinarns LAGM 2023 Grow Log
Penis Envy Malabar Coast PF Redspore Rusty Whyte P. Stropharia Golden Teacher Jan 1 2023: Spores to agar! It’s on! My agar recipe is thus: 1000 ml water 24 grams potato flakes 18 grams of agar 8 grams of corn syrup 1/2 teaspoon of fine charcoal After many trials and errors I have figured out that it works best for me to cook my empty plates (in this case, small jars) right along with my agar mix. Since I started doing it this way I have had zero contamination, and little to no condensation. Fingers crossed. Jan 11 2023: Pe plates have germinated, waiting for the other three varieties to germinate. Jan 12 2023: Prepping plates for t1 transfers. Should be ready about 8pm. I did observe the Malabar spores finally popped. So now I’m 2 for 4. The RW and PFR haven’t shown any signs of life yet. I’m gonna wait for the two week mark before I determine whether or not to retry these or just focus on what i did manage to germinate. Jan 12 2023 7:50 pm How nice is it, when the last little bit of agar you got left in the fridge, fills exactly how many plates you’ve got? Down to the last drop. Jan 13 2023 Completed T1 transfers of Malabar and PE. Jan 14 2023 I decided to retry the RW and PFR. Also added Stropharia and GT to the mix from some recent prints. I am confident these will germinate quickly. Jan 20 2023 Some of my T1’s looked pretty good. So far just the PE and the Malabar. I went ahead and made some transfers. T2s: Also: the Stro and GT germinated fairly quickly, I’m happy with it. Jan 24 2023: Did T1 transfers of Stro and GT, also made a few more T2 transfers of Malabar and PE. Side note: my RW and PFR refuse to germinate after the second attempt, still nothing. I suspect my syringes may be bad. Or maybe I just need to wait longer? So far so good. My T1s look clean and the myc is strong, especially the PE. I may put some of them to grain soon. Not sure yet. Jan 28 2023: Ok so, I decided to revisit my germination plate cuz I saw some growth I liked. Seeing as my T1 Malabar weren’t really growing all that well so I decided to go ahead a cut some new ones. These are the first cuts I made that ended up being unimpressive. These the new areas I cut resulting in new Malabar T1s. Feb 1 2023: Update: these are my strongest cultures so far: I’m liking how the Pe is developing. The Malabar, looking a little sluggish. I felt inspired, so I cut some T1s from the GT and Stro germ plates. I should add, I started these on an LME agar mix. 8g agar 15g LME H20 450 ml Feb 3 2023: Made T2 transfers from GT and Stro. Feb 4 2023 Some T1s looking good, so I nocked up some jars and tossed the rest, but not before taking some T2 transfers from the best looking plates. Feb 13 2023 Update: Inoculated 12 jars with Stro, GT, and PE, mostly PE. Still waiting on my T2s to catch up, but the PE is rockin it! Should colonize quickly I hope. PE plate looking 👍 Feb 17 2023 More T1s to grain Also: finally cut the Malabar plate that was straggling behind. seems to have spawned a single culture. Was waiting for it to look more interesting, now it does. Eager for these new T1s. Feb 22 2023 First round of jars looked good, so I gave them a shake. Took a few days longer than usual before shaking them, probably cuz my garage is kinda cold, but overall they’re coming along nicely. Update! March 3rd 2023 My first round of jars are ready, so it’s time to make some substrate! Yay! I mixed up a batch of my favorite straw paddy mix. I fill a five gallon bucket halfway with chopped straw, throw about half a bag of manure in, add a tablespoon of quick gypsum, a half teaspoon peptone, and a coffee filter filled with spent coffee (optional). Usually I’d also add 4-6 cups of vermiculite, but I’m out at the moment. It’ll be ok, I got some on order. 😉 Then I dump the mix into a canvas grocery bag, tie the top closed and dunk the poopy tea bag into my pressure cooker filled with water. I set the burner on high until my remote thermometer reaches about 150 degrees F. Then i turn the heat down to medium and set the timer for 2.5-3 hours. I’ll monitor the temperature during the cooking process making sure the temp gradually rises but doesn’t ever exceed 180-190 degrees F. When the times up, i delicately remove the poop tea bag from the pot and set it on top of my strainer inside this old dog food container I’ve got. This catches the drain off and has a convenient lid to keep anything out that might want to settle on it or infect it. I’ll let it sit for at least a day before opening it. I wanna make sure it’s gonna have the right field capacity. If it’s still too wet, I’ll set the poop tea bag on top of some old towels in a large stainless steel bowl, this will help to absorb any excess water. At this point, I’ll wrap it up in a new trash liner, and depending when I plan on using it, I’ll set it on the counter for a day, or I’ll throw it In the fridge until I’m ready for it. Some pics: I use an extra trivet and a rock to hold the poop bag under the water. More pics: Update! March 6th 2023: First round of jars are ready for substrate! I took a page out of Fahtsters book and made some Zipblocks. Super fast and easy! I usually do shoeboxes but I do love fruiting in bags! Zipblocks: Update: March 22 2023 Put these 4 pints of PE to coir. I used bucket tek for this sub. Coir, verm, and water. March 23 2023: Got so many projects going I’m completely out of tubs, so i made more bags. Some GT, Malabar, and Stro. Update: March 31st 2023; Just over a week of growth and these bags are coming along nicely. Update: April 2nd 2023 For the bags, Fruiting has begun. I also included a picture of one of the PE tubs. The tubs aren’t far behind. Update: the fruiting has begun! 4-4-23 I love it when they push the bag open Update: oh yeah! 4-9-23 Super happy with this first flush of PE! Probably the best canopy I’ve been able to pull of yet! The sub for this tub is CVG. I gotta say, I like the coir better. I keep going back and forth between manure substrates and coir. I think coir is my new fave! 4-17-23 Bags are slow to fruit and needed more holes. The tubs are looking good. Update: 4-22-2023 2nd flush Pe and GT. 5-1-2023 Second and third flush now, it’s gotten kind of out of control and I’m running out of room in the dryer. I guess it’s a good problem to have. At this point I’ve given up on keeping the strains separate and am now throwing everything into a large bag labeled: lagm 2023. Some pics of second and third flush. Update: 05-04-2023 Plate pin, Malabar coast 05-11-2023 First flush of P. Stropharia , pretty little mushrooms 🍄 😁 5-11-23 Malabar bag and tub: 5-18-23 More PE, don’t remember which flush this is, 2nd or 3rd, probably 3rd flush. Edited by Kevinarns (06/09/23 10:24 AM)

This guy! Don't forget your MSB.
Been slacking and down but this is always fun. Nat f4 Browntown f1 Play Uvita Elf Subtropicalis f4 Outdoor Tamps Pan Cyan Wild coast LAGM and have a bountiful new year! 12/31-1/1: Happy Eve, see ya'll in the morning. Laid everything out so I can come back drunk and screw up my germs. 1/1: Let's do this shit! Drunk enough to use my feet but professional enough to use socks. Nat Browntown 30 cubes to one syringe mostly classic browns, few rw, ape, and nats. Elf: can't get this to germ Semps/subtropic: F4, not the "Melgo" or any of the other fruiters, but I'll work it out another gen. Outdoor Tamps: failed at a bunch of mexs but typically get stones Wild Coast: My go to pan for ease, other ones haven't been as reliable for me. I lied about the socks! 1/4: Germs germing 1/9: May need to re-germ some plates. All my own swabs/prints are doing the thing and other users prints are slow and probably wet. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() This shall increase my yields by 10%. 2/6: All of this is somewhere between 1/9 and now. Dog knocks shelf over with all my PP germs. Caps go flying agar go splat. Over this shit. Regermed shit. Leave for 3 days. Come back to frozen house and more lost germs/exotic. Call in one favor. Get own lines back and better lines. Regerm a bunch of stuff. Mostly the same with RW and multiple pans and semps now. Some woodies thrown in. Edited by rockyfungus (02/06/23 10:10 PM)

Vibetyme's LAGM_2023![]() FP+, BK Mak, Ghost, PE, Gamma Wave & Natalensis for an exotic. ![]() ![]() ![]() 1/1 Getting ready! The PE spores I took last New Years Eve from the big boy in my avatar. Gotta give a little credit where it's due. •The Nat came from Egon •Bk Mak and FP+ both came from Faht •Ghost is mine •PE is mine •Gamma Wave is from CB Thanks a lot guys! I appreciate you all! Got most of my inoculations finished. I used this shroom to grab some spores for my Ghost grow. I really love the colors on these Ghost! 1/5 Poured some plates and hoping for germ soon. I have a little something happening on the ghost plate but none of the others. 1/5 Gamma Wave came in the mail tonight so I'll scrape some spores on agar in the morning. 1/6 Got the Gamma Wave done! Thanks again CB, that print was dark af! I just scraped a few spores in trying not to put any part of the print or my hands over the agar plate. Probably a little overkill on the amount of spores but no worries. 1/8 Got germination on 5 of the 6 varieties. I'm trying something new this time with just sticking the swab in one place on the plate and not swipping at all. My thought was if any of the swabs were dirty I would be keeping that in one area and the mycelium would climb out and away from any contam, hopefully. 1/18 Usually if I let my germ plates grow out they will start to sector out and I can choose more of what I'm looking for. I grabbed a little rhizo growth from these. 2/1 Grain prep I use WBS, Penningtons wild bird feed I soaked my seed for 12 hours then Fooman soaked in hot water for 10 minutes to finish hydrating and to dry the grain while straining and then load that shit up to around the 500ml mark and put 4 quart jars in my instant pot. Vent for 10, set the timer for 2.5 hrs and come back the next day to remove the jars. After that I remove them and shake to redistribute any moisture. Boom! just like that they are ready for inoculation. 2/2 This is what my cultures are looking like today! I'm tiger dropping all but the Gamma Wave tomorrow. This one below I'm going to do another transfer on just to be on the safe side. I usually shake the wbs to one side and then loosen the lids, cut the mycelium like a pizza and tiger drop it in. My 15yr old son just got a lava lamp for Christmas. I like to turn it on when I'm working to reconnect with my younger self a little bit! I had one when I was 15. I'm on Team no mod for anything! I just unscrew the lid 1/4 turn and leave em the fuck alone. You just have to remember to tighten for shaking then you have to remember to loosen them again after. No big deal but sometimes for a pot head like me this can be a stretch. ![]() 2/9 My Ghost caught something. I trashed it. I'll restart it again though. This Nat jar is looking pretty sexy. I gave it a shake 2/28 Spawned the Nat and Bk Mak 1:3 cv with a quart top layer Forgot to take a pic of the Nat before I did it though. Foomaned 3 wbs jars for my redo of ghost and PE. Did one for the Gamma Wave too. Here is the pe I trashed 3/2 Dropped all these to grain today. I made a transfer of a piece then tiger dropped the rest. 3/21 Nats and Bk Mak looking pretty good. I'll probably have to pull a couple of the Nats tomorrow so they don't get spores everywhere. 3/23 Bk Mak is finished with the first flush. 5/2 Pe blob fest but at least a few grew normally. Hoping for a better 2nd flush Gamma Wave is looking awesome Finished first flush. My fp+ isn't doing so hot. I'll try again soon. Thinking about the fork tek honestly. Ghost minis first flush Ghost 3rd flush Edited by Vibetyme (05/23/23 09:59 PM)

NTWs LAGM v.2.023
Grow journal![]() I'll be growing nothing but cubes: APE Whyte Gold Melmac Yeti Huautla Ecuador Mystery syringe I labeled "G" I'm going to keep updates here short and sweet but post more details in my journal. 1/1 update: APE --4 plates made Whyte Gold --spore syringe made to rehydrate Melmac --5 plates made Yeti --have not received spores yet Huautla --spore syringe made to rehydrate Ecuador -spore syringe made to rehydrate Mystery "G" --4 plates made 1/5 update: Whyte Gold --5 plates made Yeti --4 plates made Huautla --4 plates made Ecuador --4 plates mafe Mystery "G" --possible germ noticed of 1/5. Could be mold. 2/7 update: Made a bunch of T1 plates finally. Nothing great going on yet though. I think my nutrient light agar recipe was a mistake. My T1 plates are all standard LME ratio. I still need to make some more transfers but life and work have been a bit of a rollercoaster lately. 11/21 update: I completely neglected everything since the 2/7 update and it all died
