Hey SpaceBaby, that is truly remarkable man. I thought it was impressive that I've gone about six months without alcohol, but that is definitely an inspiration.

Lets All Grow Mushrooms 2022 The Cocaine Buffet WayVariety: Ps.Semperviva, Whyte Gold, AA+All were swabbed last night onto agar (01/01/2022). If you look closely you can see I kept up my tradition of swabbing in the annual year streak 20/22/CB
**Update 01/10**The AA+ has some nice growth so I took 2 transfers from both plates on 01/10. The other plates are a little behind so I might be doing transfers from those next week probably at the earliest.

**Update 01/18**Made a few transfers from the Whyte Gold germ plate. **Update 01/29**Added some of the AA+ to grain. The semp plates have still shown 0 growth. Will probably streak some more plates.

I been on the ride around the sun for long enough o have seen [early] Zappa. I can say unequivocably that the misfits, delinquents and criminals are mostly the best folks you can find. And then the worst. but that ain't us!

It was an actual fucking white light experience. Like with the blinding white light filling my loft and the infinite voice. In the middle of unaliving myself. Never ever had the slightest desire again. And I was a garbagehead and for a while a major freebase addict. I tell the peeps I run with, once you been sober for a day, picking up a drink is 100% a choice to do so.
And just to follow a largely unknown tradition in that club, I am a satisfied customer of AA.
That said I am a gleeful, n00bistic member of this motley crewe.
So this is shroomery-i learn cult here and dig us. Iit's just out there that i will help any of us. And I don't give a fuck if anybody drinks or how much. I ain't no fuckin preacher.

Iβm in with the following:
Species: Panaeolus Bisporus
Species: Panaeolus Cyanescens Var: Peace River & NecD
Species: Psilocybe Tampanensis
Species: Psilocybe Subtropicalis
Species: Psilocybe Cyanescens
Species: Psilocybe Azurescens
1/2/2022: Started today with everything but the wood-lovers:

These are panaeolus bisporus, panaeolus cyanescens (Peace River Florida and NecD), Tampanensis and Subtropicalis. I only have a syringe for the Tampanensis and I've never had a syringe grow anything on a plate other than bacteria, but I gave it a shot and in the coming days/weeks as I have time, I'll make up some BRF cakes, knock them up with a syringe, then transfer clean growth to agar and go from there. Adds time to the mix but it's ok. Plus I usually just fruit the cakes rather than toss them - good quick way to get at some clones.
Some of the prints I used were hastily made and probably dirty so I may have to re-streak some of these plates but let's see what happens.
1/7/2022: Pan Cyan Peace River, Pan Cyan NecD, Tampanensis, and Pan Bispo have all germinated and are ready for transfer. Shockingly, the Tampanensis plate was from a syringe and I've never had anything but bacteria grow off a syringe on agar, but this one resulted in some spore germination, and a couple spots of bacteria but I see that as huge win. Now I won't have to spend all the time going to BRF puck and back to agar.

1/8/2022: Germination plates for Pan Cyan NecD, Pan Cyan Peace River, and Tampanensis have grown enough for their first transfers. Still waiting on Subtropicalis to germinate. Pan Bispo has germinated but growth is still too small to transfer yet.
I'm a fan of HG no-pours but I have run-out of them so had to switch to poured 100m petris. Was in a mad rush to get them done so didn't bother removing the condensation. I normally always do 1 plate per culture but this time I transferred 3-4 different cultures from a given variety into a single 100m plate in order to save plates and space.

1/11/2022: The progress so far:

My two Pan Bispo germination plates have now grown enough for T1s. I think this is the only species/variety I have ever grown that showed such uniform growth patterns from multispore germination. There is really no segmentation and individual germinations merge seamlessly with other germinations.:

Little spot of bacteria on my Tampanensis T1s. Tamps have been growing slowly:

A close look at one of my NecD T1 plates unfortunately shows that what I transferred from the germination plate was mostly some form of molds. The culture at 1:00 isn't mold though so I took a T2 of that. Hopefully it doesn't have mold riding on it but that should be detectable once the T2 grows out a ways.

The current LAGM plate stacks after tonight's work:

1/13/2022: My Tampanensis plate decided to start growing bacteria in spots so I took some big transfers away from it to individual plates:

Tamps seem to grow a lot slower than cubes or pans. I can't remember if my last batch of Tamp plates grew this slowly or not but I might streak a couple new plates this weekend just in case these four cultures end up being duds.
I didn't like the 1:00 culture here on this Pan Cyan NecD plate so I took some T2s:

I didn't like either of the bottom cultures on this Pan Cyan Peace River plate so took some T2s here as well. The bottom cultures are likely fine but I chose to be picky:

Tonight's work:

Not pictured are the other cultures still chugging along. I have one T1 plate like the above two that is looking really healthy and I will probably send it to grain as-is over the next few days.
1/14/2022: One T1 plate with four different germination plate culture transfers looked clean enough to send to grain so tonight I sent it. This is Pan Cyan Peace River.

1/22/2022: The only grain jar I was able to knock up appears to have contaminated with something - not sure what it is exactly but doesn't look good. I have been having contamination issues with my SAB recently (including when I knocked up the jar) but after some deep cleaning and 24x7 HEPA air filter running in the room, I think I have corrected it. Time will tell.

Today I knocked up seven jars. Most of these are Pan Cyan NecD and Peace River Florida, and I think there is one Pan Bisporus in there too. The rest of the plates are still maturing. I have BRF jars in the PC right now which I will knock up with Tamps and Subtropicalis, since I can't get the Subs to germinate on agar, and the Tamps are germinating but having a lot of contaminates.

1/23/2022: Today I did a hail-mary with a Subtropicalis print that I have been unable to get to germinate for many months despite many attempts. The hail-mary was to squirt some sterile water from a syringe onto the print, mix it up with the spores and suck it back up into the syringe, let it hydrate a few days, then squirt it through an injection port into three different BRF pucks. Fingers crossed. I have some different subtropicalis genetics in the mail from both vendors and generous forum members so I'm sure I'll be up and running within the next month or so via one of these. Will transfer to agar if successful.
Since I was making BRF pucks, I figured I'd make a few extra and knock them up with my Tampensis syringe. Will transfer to agar if I get some clean growth. None of my LAGM Tamp cultures on agar are doing very well right now (though I have had successful attempts last year but I am not including those in this LAGM grow due to it starting before 1/1/2022).

2/3/2022: Long time no update. Mostly because I have been very busy building my flow hood which took a TON of time and was squeezed tightly between the rest of my life tasks. Lots of late nights and tired mornings but the hood itself is done and working. I still need to build the desk for it to sit on and will tackle that in two weeks. Here she is - 24" x 36"

My LAGM cult has been in a slow spot - mostly just waiting for grain jars to consolidate and for more plates to grow out. But I decided to spawn that funky looking NecD Pan Cyan jar to bulk substrate today to see what would happen.
This is the jar:

I spawned it today to a mix of straw, vermiculite, and manure that was pasteurized:

and into a 6qt tub:

2/14/2022: The box consolidated very well, and probably completed like 8-9 days ago but I wasn't around to fruit it, so today it got cased and put into the fruiting tent. My Pan Bisporus and some other jars are complete as well so updates to come on those, and I will be finally starting up my Subtropicalis on agar soon too.

2/17/2022: Two things - First and most importantly: I now have pins/fruits in the one tray I have spawned to. They just started poking through the casing today. Second is that I mis-quoted the variety in one or more previous posts - this tray is Pan Cyan Peace River, not Pan Cyan NecD. I have NecD jars fully colonized and waiting for substrate to be pasteurized (when I get time) but this tub is Pan Cyan Peace River.
I think these might be the first fruits of LAGM 2022 but not sure.

2/23/2022: Spawned a few more jars late last night. So far I have only spawned one jar and that is the Pan Cyan Peace River Florida tray that is currently fruiting. The other jars have been sitting at 100% colonization for weeks just waiting for me to spawn them but I have been either away or too busy. Not ideal to let fully colonized jars sit but it is what it is.
Pasteurized straw/manure/verm that has been aged five days

Grain jar to spawn

Four trays in total. These are F0 Pan Cyan NecD, an F1 NecD taken from the white pans in my signature, another Pan Cyan Peace River, and a Pan Cyan Bisporus.

I also took a moment to transfer some mycelium from my Tampanensis BRF cakes to agar. The mycelium is already producing stones on the BRF cake.

Current state of my fruiting Peace River tray. It threw up a DENSE pinset and then decided to allow a handful of pins to begin maturing while the rest are held in suspended animation.

2/27/2022: Pan Cyan Peace River pins poking through the new casing layer I applied after scraping:

The trays I spawned the other day are colonizing quickly. I will give them another day or two before casing to ensure they don't colonize the casing layer. Pan bispo on the right, and the rest are Peace River and NecD - all pan cyans.

And I had a moment to streak a single Subtropicalis plate:

Later in the evening, I made a batch of agar plates and finally spawned the remaining three grains jars that have been sitting 100% consolidated for several weeks. These are all Pan Cyans, two of them are Peace River and one of them is NecD. I have no more grain jars colonizing at the moment and it may be another week or two before that changes due to schedule.

2/28/2022: NecD, Peace River, and Pan Bispo were cased today. They are the stack on the left in the second pic. Stack on the right is what I just spawned last night and are just starting to colonize. I will be putting the cased trays into the fruiting tent around Thursday or Friday of this week. Casing is just 50/50 with 0.8Tbs hydrated lime per quart.

Also, tonight I streaked the last of the LAGM varieties I'm growing: Psilocybe azurescens and Psilocybe cyanescens. Just one plate each. I do not live in a climate that is conducive to growing these. It doesn't get consistently cold enough, nor does it get as consistently wet as it needs to be (my educated hypothesis anyway). I believe my first attempt at them which I started in 2021 failed for these reasons. This year I will probably do everything the same I did last year, except I will put a sprinkler on them that will run on an automated daily schedule and will pray to the mushroom gods for a colder winter.

3/2/2022: The cased trays go into the tent:

3/5/2022: Second tub of Pan Cyan Peace River pinning up - let's see if it does something different than the first tub which was to just abort all the fruits:

More tubs of NecD and Peace River have fully colonized so I cased them and will let them consolidate another few days before putting them into the tent:

3/8/2022: Second tub of Pan Cyan Peace River turned out much nicer than the first. Better culture most likely.

The Tampanensis syringe I had was dirty so I used it to knock up some BRF cakes way back on January 23rd with the sole intent of getting clean mycelium I could then transfer to agar and grow out from there. The jars have colonized and I transferred some mycelium from them to agar a while ago. Those plates have grown out and were ready to transfer to grain so I did that today.
The jars have a lot of stones in them already and I love the way the lines of mycelium run out from them:

Out of two plates I knocked up from transferred mycelium from the jars, one of them formed stones. I put half this plate into one grain jar and the other half into another grain jar. I will fruit one of those jars and let the other sit specifically to produce stones. The second plate went into a third grain jar that will be fruited.

I also took a handful of plates that were sitting fully colonized for many weeks, and put them to grain. The cultures are more Pan Bispos and Pan Cyans.

3/14/2022: My Pan Bisporus tray has completed its fruiting. Pretty decent flush for Bipsos which I have not found to be prolific producers:

And here is a third tray of Pan Cyan Peace River which has produced the best flush so far for that variety. Especially considering it is from MS:

And lastly, I took this photo 3 or maybe 4 days ago of a Pan Cyan tray that is part of my LAGM grow - I used F1 spores back in January of some genetics I have been working on to try to get true albino pans. These are technically leucistic not albino but they are beautiful. I'm growing F2 out on plates as we speak.

3/17/2022: Grain jars are slowly chugging along.
NecD is fruiting now but still some days away from being done. Will post a pic when the time comes.
Here is another tray of Peace River:

And yet another Peace River tray:

Subtropicalis is nearly grown out enough to go to grain.
3/19/2022: Second flush Pan Cyan Peace River:

3/30/2022: My indoor tent is now completely empty. I have some tamp spawn that's ready to go and just need to find time to put it to substrate.
I decided since I have already had indoor success with Pan Bisporus prior to LAGM 2022, I will try my first outdoor bisporus grow for LAGM. So today I spawned my two LAGM 2022 Bisporus jars to outdoor beds.
The beds were made by sprinkling freshly colonized grain spawn onto bare earth, covering half the patch with leached but wet manure from my outdoor pile, and half the patch with very dried manure, then covering the whole thing with straw and chicken wire and watering.

3/30/2022: Second update for today....
I spawned two Tampanesis jars to bulk. The third jar is a Bisporus clone culture which is not part of my LAGM grow. These were spawned to shredded hemp (animal bedding), verm and manure.

5/08/2022: Took this pic a few days ago as the first little clusters of Pan Bispos popped up after some rains. This should be just the start - many more should follow in the coming weeks/months.

I have also decided to grow my tampanensis in outdoor beds instead of indoors for my LAGM grow because this spring/summer are going to be extremely busy and I might not have time to deal with substrate prep and managing my tent. So I spawned two, connected tampanensis beds outside. I covered half with manure+straw and the other half with just straw, in order to see which does better outside. Indoors I do manure/straw/verm. Here is the bed mid-construction - you can see the grains sprinkled on bare earth, with the half covering of dried manure. After this I just sprinkled chopped straw over the top to cover, set chicken wire over it to protect from squirrels and then watered it.

I have done plenty of indoor tamp grows so let's see how they do outside. Here's one of my indoor trays:

Tag me in. I have a print from 3+ yrs ago that may or mat not be puke on agar. And speaking of drinking...I also have a mysterious print sent to me in the mail with no label and I can't for the life of me figure out who it was from.

Golden Teacher vendor syringe and Jack Frost (Albino GT x Ape) from TheDoobsker. Basic LME agar with 30 milligrams gentamicin sulfate powder added to 500ml agar before PC cycle. Also running Enigma to keep the thread lively while the spores for LAGM do their thing.
Swab/syringe> Agar> LC> Oats> CVG 1:2 let's go!

Gathering supplies for the challenge

1/1/22
HAPPY NEW YEAR EVERYONE!
And they're off

I didn't do a close up so it's hard to see but if you look closely at the plate on the bottom left you can see the poor GT syringe had blue balls/spores stuck in the tip so it needed to Also put this little guy into action so I'll do some updates on it along the way.

Now we wait...
1/2/22

1/3/22
Enigma is moving fast so I made some backup slants so they're ready before I move it over to LC (looks like a lot of condensation in the slants but I just sprayed the outside with sanitizer).

1/4/22
Aah yeah, it has begun! Sorry about the shitty pic. It's kind of hard to see because of the condensation in the plate but we have germination on both Jack Frost plates and one GT plate (the pic is one of the Jack Frost swab plates from the bottom looking up).

1/5/22
The last plate germinated (the one with way to many spores from the GT syringe). That one's a clusterfuck so I'll need to be extra careful when selecting transfers. We're firing on all four cylinders now
The Enigma has moved a few centimeters off the transfer onto the plate so I'll be moving it to LC and slants soon.

1/6/22
Enigma -

1/7/22
One of the Jack Frost plates has a case of the funkies going on but I also see germination on other parts of the plate that I swiped. So hopefully I can still get some good transfers from it. Both GT plates still look good.

1/10/22
Tossed one Jack Frost plate because it had a bunch of contamination

multifractal's LAGM 2022Thanks for making the thread bigfoot! I'm really looking forward to this experience and am honored to be growing alongside you guys. Tentatively, I will start by working on the following: - PEU
- Gandalf
- MVP-type cubensis pheno
- PEUxAlbino Riptide**
- Wild Florida F2
- Psilocybe caerulescens
**albino riptide genetics in the form of a tissue culture but the PEU will be MS; kind of a gray area but I'd like to include progress on this one as well1/1 Inoculated plates with Gandalf spores 1/3 Inoculated plates with Psilocybe caerulescens and PEU spores 1/6 Germination noted on one caerulescens plate. These caerulescens were originally picked in South Carolina. (Free spore swabs to anyone who can guess the red album in the upper left) Unfortunately all Gandalf plated are exhibiting aggressive mold growth. I believe there is some mycelium growing directly from the swab heads so I have attempted to transfer some of it by rubbing a clean scalpel directly onto this supposed mycelium and then onto a clean plate. Hopefully I can salvage something but it's going to be tight. 1/12 Transfers taken from MS Psilocybe caerulescens plate: leading to... 1/18 and that germination plate: Also, PEU spores finally germinating! I ended up inoculating four plates with a vendor syringe 7 days ago after my one swab did not produce any growth, contamination or otherwise:
