In my personal understanding of christian theology probably spelled that wrong excuse me. Jesus is not god. He is a part of god but also part man thats why jesus was such a big deal the essence of god embodied in a man... I think.

Re: Is Jesus God? [Re: Notfromarkansas]
    #20145205 -

you cannot invent logics and realities of else matters while also never involving yourself ..

in truth, anything cannot be but one thing so conscious being cannot be partially this and that .. especially when being conscious is about definitely being more so basically only itself

it is obvious how you are meaning to justify jesus as someone that could relate you to god .. or someone that could force any human to accept him as his superior .. but this is obviously your goal, while it is definitely about reversing the true order of existing in fact

what is a man if according to you god exist ?? what is a god ???

how can you suggest that god and men are facts .. and what about women ??? where is the logic in there ??

actually, your argument rely on another mean .. the idea that conscious can be from down to up as much as conscious can be from up to down sense ..

in both case, it is the same wrong .. what is up must be true to be really, so must stay always up
and what is down must stay always relative so never a thing nor being free

relating ups and downs is the fact of evil showing being real .. evil is what kills existence rights.. so like proving that a dimension of being is totally criminal, absolutely, life oneness built on holding everything by force.. certifying that true existence is caught and possessed to an extreme edge

like what we hear about humanity, being evil to earth, for instance .. from insisting to relate natural sources to things productions .. so from insisting to kill the rights of sources to be free and the true reality of things

like here from what you said, if men and god exist, then how objectively the fact of their existence both is not related to the face of existence itself ?? while on the contrary, it means for you the face of another one that would pump out of nowhere to call it jesus the factory of both ??

it shows to what extent you reason of lies you invent, because you clearly want to never reason in truth

when two different things exist, then one existence is true and the two are relative to .. so none of both is right .. because what exist is always what is the most clear so real objectively free

while for you, if two different things exist, then a third thing could be existing too so why not you to invent too ??
it shows how you reason from meaning to take advantage of face existence value for I guess your existence wills

sure in truth, there cant be any present existence but yourself one .. but what about your knowledge that existence is objectively true fact ??? how could you ignore it or reject it only for all you can get from knowing that the present is only yourself ??? I tell you why ..

because you refuse to admit being nothing yourself in truth as present being .. why ?? because you love to picture yourself as something you can earn and possess ..

then, either being is true, or being is an opportunity to grasp ..

who mean being as an opportunity, is someone basically who could never respect else existence fact .. so never respect existence rights in general ..

while who is true, is what would always mean something else rights, from being itself right honestly, so realistically objectively from having to pass time by meaning something else positively

else means is the major factor of objective value .. so the reason of reality and freedom rights.. the only existence being a matter of fact

what is funny is what also your argument mean to suggest ..

you mean to justify conscious existence as being over someone else .. in a way that delete the fact of freedom to be in truth .. that is how, you are creating a jesus that could represent the right to join ups and downs as if it is a normal thing to have to see and accept

you cant be someone if there is someone else over you ... it is impossible .. one is from the fact of being really .. so any conscious is exclusively by being only itself
then any conscious power over someone else, is an act of constant offensive and insolent violation to existence rights.. so the evil way of being opportunity by simply never being but a possessor of else being right .. calling that figure a jesus, that accepted all kind of powers and abuse on himself, wont change the fact nor legalize him over humans, and would surely never justify any kind of god powers over conscious beings ..

superior one cant be but who respect more varieties of else, so one that really can be in true superiority ends constant .. when superiority is exclusively out of different things reality
who respect the least the concept of else, would never exercise powers over anything .. that is a fact certainty

I don't know if you will listen to this, but if you do you will go right to the heart of the things and cut out the crap. Here goes:

Mythology has based around mythical characters often half human half divine.

Now, John Allegro in his amazing book The Sacred Mushroom and the Cross reveals through his uncovering the cryptic layers of written myth that, like the god Dionysos, Jesus is secretly referring NOT to some human person who lived in the past and etc etc but to an actual consciousness-expanding vegetation--sacred fungi

The ancients didn't have microscopes so weren't to know how mushrooms came to appear--via microscopic pores, and thus believed they magically appeared after thunderstorms and further connected that with --in the Jesus myth--a phallic sky God!

So this is the cryptic meaning---The motif of mushrooms as gods (as well as other psychedelic plants having sacred names) is very ancient. In the more ancient lunar mythos of the Great Mother, the fungi are son/lovers of the Goddess
But in the patriarchal solar esoteric fertility cults they are sons of God. Thus there is a radically different set and setting

In the former they are deeply connected with the Cosmos (meaning there is no dualistic separation between nature and the heavens), but with the latter there is emphasis of the heavens above 'fallen' nature. So unlike the other 'gods/mushrooms' who were part of the cycles of nature, the Jesus story blocks the cycle of death. Blocks the understanding of the sacred cycle of life and death

Yeah I figured there were going to be a bunch of Jesus-Horus-Dionysus comparisons. But to suggest that Jesus is a mushroom is kind of silly.

Theologically speaking (and the title of a book by D.M. Baillie), God Was in Christ. In other words, Christ, is supposed to be a unique specie of being, a hybrid of human psyche (soul) and the Logos (translated as Word with a capital 'W' in the Bible), or extension of eternal mind into space-time. Jesus refers to the human man, Christ to the supposition that a portion of the inner life of Jesus was God. There were many different movements in early Christianity that attempted to describe what the percentages were! Eventually, the doctrine of 'fully God, fully man' was adopted, and the term Homoousios instead of Homoiousios, which meant that the Son was of the same substance as the Father, not a similar substance.

Personally, I think Christ is a paradigm for each and every human being. We are all hybrids of the eternal and the temporal. It was the gospel attributed to the author John, and John's work alone that spoke of Christ as being 'God clothed with flesh,' or more specifically, "And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father), full of grace and truth" - John 1:14. The Synoptic gospels Mark, Matthew, and Luke, spoke of Christ as 'a man anointed by God.' Again, more specifically, Luke writes "How God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Ghost and with power: who went about doing good, and healing all that were oppressed of the devil; for God was with him." The difference is lost on too many Christians.

The prophets were men anointed by God's Spirit, and Jesus is considered to be another prophet according to Islam.Judaism did not consider Jesus to be a prophet. The Talmud calls him a mamser (bastard) and a magician (see Morton Smith's Jesus the Magician). It was John's writings that overshadowed the Synoptic theology and forever separated Christianity from Judaism. Additionally, 'son of God' is an epithet used in the Tenach to describe kings of Israel. It was only with John's Prologue (Pro-Logos, the beginning of John's gospel) that Son of God is equated with the Logos, the eternal mind of God, incarnated like a Greek demigod (a hybrid of God [Zeus: Greek] and a mortal woman). This was another good reason why Jews rejected the Christian mythos - it was pure Hellenistic thought. Jesus was like a Dionysus (God of Nysus) or Heracles, both demigods.

The gospels are heavily mythologized and midrashic literary works, which is why the first modern scholar to take on the history of Jesus, Albert Schweitzer, the theologian-physician, concluded at the turn of the 20th century in his book Quest for the Historical Jesus that he was a composite character, a collage of several wisdom teachers. This was, and still is, considered to be outrageous for those people who need Jesus to be a supernatural hero. Tim Freke and Peter Gandy also came to the same conclusion as Schweitzer in their popular books The Jesus Mysteries and Jesus and the Lost Goddess among others. I don't think the goal is to 'believe' this or that, but rather to "be in Christ," theosis in Eastern Orthodox Christianity.

Can't this be the idea of any man though? An enlightened man spreading love and healing, a son of God? Aren't we all children of God? Then we all have the power to access that "Christ Consciousness" or whatever?

I don't believe in a "one and only savior".. I think that is all taboo and to scare people into believing their 2 cents.

Not picking on you man, you just created some thoughts in my head I wanted to get out. [8

I do not subscribe to Allegro's thesis either, but my FB friend Clark Heinrich certainly does. He has written books and contributed to others in which he illustrates how many medieval paintings can ce perceived to be not-so veiled references to the Amanita Muscaria mushroom in particular. I have a framed picture of one of the mystic Jacob Boehme's drawings (taken from the cover of the book The Apples of Apollo) which indicates that Boehme included mushroomic images in his version of the Christian trinity.

Then, there is the work by Franco Fabbro which doesn't equate Christ with a mushroom, but suggests that by 300 AD, snails were fed Amanitas to detoxify them, and the snails were consumed ritually. http://distelrath.tripod.com/fabbro.htm

Re: Is Jesus God? [Re: Deviate]

(I know your asking Mark, but I have never tried a fly agaric mushroom though I picked one once and was gonna try.

I kinda think that as Allegro shows, once myth gets put down in writing, this is when they can hide stuff, only for the inititated to know about, in the script, and use allusions.
I am sure that the amanita was used, but could also have been an arch-mushroom, meaning that its dramatic shape etc was used to formulate stories, and also to further hide the more popular and more powerful psilocybin mushrooms they may have known about, and had access to

I say this because Mike Crowley also reveals that knowledge and use of specifically psilocybin dung mushrooms were used in Hinduism and Buddhism, and seeing that Eastern philosophical ideas are believed to have been an influence on mystery European schools like Orphism which in turn influenced Christianity that these secrets of the initiates would get found out by other initiates by travelers with bags of magic goodies

But like I said above. You have to cut through the crap. Conscious-expanding substances of COURSE are central in the old stories myths. Do not people still look with awe at psychedelics now? Are they not forbidden? Why? What is the fruit which is forbidden in the biblical creation myth? Can you guess?
What are the experiences we can have from ingesting psychedelics. Can you dig the imagery that is being denigrated in that patriarchal version? The Tree of Life. The Serpent. Being gods. Paradise. What does a garden look to you on psychedelics? ANY natural landscape? How do you FEEL? Ecstatic? Like a god? Do you feel the dynamic interrelation of time and eternity?
This is real myth. Myth with words written down is a relatviely recent invention. Authentic mythological ritual was direct and experiential and ecstatic. Think of the Australian Aborigines and their Dreamtime ritual. Entering an eternal dimension which is beyond 'time' but not versus time. It is dynamic. So claim the eternal is 'always here' is to put a time on it. It is a dimension

The consciousness-expanding mushrooms were given god names. They were personified in stories/myths. Often these characters were semi-divine. IE Jesus was human and yet 'Son of God'. OK, dig---they didn't have microsopes them days. They believed these shrooms magically/divinely appeared after thunderstorms YET they had 'flesh', and could die like us. But in dying IN us they came back alive, and HOW...

Nope. My BFF collected a whole box of them and sent me one (that I preserved in a bottle of alcohol), but I've never taken it, and compared to the reliability and non-toxicity of psilocybian species, I'm not stoked on taking any based on experiences I've read from others. Additionally, the Boehme mushroom doesn't artistically suggest either the spots (fragments of the veil) or the bulbous bottom which is characteristic os Amanitas. Moreover, psilocybian dung-loving species seem to be more likely a species for the Soma of the Vedas (and perhaps why cows became sacralized, by the dung that gave rise to psilocybians). I can imagine that northern Laplanders observed reindeer seeking out the Amanitas and even drinking one another's urine for the effects, but I don't think that Amanitas are the ONLY mushroom to have created history.
