this thread was just shy of a complete failure. Lets go ahead and shut it down and lets try harder next year

It wasn't a failure. You're so pessimistic Tahoe.
The weather just didn't go our way this year. It'll get better.

thread wasn't a failure, the weather was. We might be having water rationing this summer, it's just about drought conditions
here's a blast from the past
this spot didn't fruit a single one this year, and I know it's still there, the mycelium is still healthy

here's an update on home growing from the wild
this was started with just 1 square inch of mycelium chips, and you can see it's now going from the cardboard to the new chips, and these were alder smoking chips bought via Amazon.com, nice and clean...keep it in a plastic gallon bag like this, make sure it stays moist, open it up once a week to get some air, maybe add a few drops of water
I'll post an update sometimes in the summer, especially if I ever get any fruits, here in the hunting forums...It is still hunting, since it's hunters doing this now, since not much could be hunted this year. Or, this is sort of a crossover, between hunting and growing, but I've never been a grower, just a hunter, but this is what hunters do when there's a drought. Alot of it goes right back outside again to be hunted...hehe
moisture level is fairly important here...I drowned one tiny patch by over watering it in a small vase, not a plastic bag, by dripping all night..A week later the mycelium turned grey...The chips should be moist/wet to the touch, but not dripping wet..Drain all the excess water out...if you have a pile of chips in a plastic bag with cardboard mycelium, and you can hold it up and there's a little puddle of water at the bottom, drain that out...it should just stay moist, but never flooded....they have to breathe too!
by the way, it smells really nice in that bag, just like it's supposed to

well this was started from a chunk of a fib stem (clone) from the richmond area.
A little closer
Look how strong this species is. This is why it grows everywhere and is taking over in the bay
Here is the pedro
