 Wild Shrooms in San Diego???

I'm pretty sure there is nothing that I can find in southern california that
I might look for, as in Magic Mushrooms. I live in San Diego and it's pretty damn dry out here most of the time, but, from time to time we do have mushrooms in our rainy season. Does anyone here know what I might look for in the way of cubensis out here? I would love to do a little mushroom hunting but I don't know of any worthwhile out here to look for! And, Any mushroom cultivators
living in or near San Diego, contact me! I would love to chat with someone more knowledgable than myself or even someone less! LOL! Have a great day everyone!

dude....you are the only person that i have seen fill out the profile almost entirely!!
...i dont know if in fact they do grow here....but when it does rain, check cow, horse, etc..farms....maybe theyll turn up...or when you get good enough, you can try to spread the spores
in those areas.....i dunno...maybe....never tried....i dont live close enough to any farms....good luck!

Wasssup 40? LOL! Yea, even out here in san diego we have some cow fields, so I will look at it scientifically! * grin * I am planning on locating every ranch with dairy cows or even beef cows in a certain grid, I will then scope out the large ones and see how hard it would be to hide me truck and get in there. Even though I live in town, between sd and the border there is a lot of pasture and cows.... I just need time for this endeavor, which is the hardest to come by :0)
I'm also thinking of just taking a trip up to the mountains around here and collecting any and all mushrooms I can find just for identification and fun purposes! Thanks for your reply!

The sweet spot is "the bay area" or so I've heard. I hear Ps. cyans, Ps. cyanofibrillosa, Ps. semilanceata, and a few others grow in Northern Cali. Hear good things about golden gate park also, look in mulch beds in the area.

I used to live up in cave junction, about 60 miles north or crescent city, and there were times of the year when EVERYONE was hunting mushrooms. Not just the magic ones. But some of those mushrooms are worth a LOT of money per pound!!
Down here, I am not giving up, if it rains, I will be scoping some cow pastures by sunday morning, armed of course with the Great Ones Mushroom hunting guide :0) Get some Grenade!!!!

I grew up in Allied Gardens, a suburb in San Diego. During certain periods in the winter, mushrooms grew all over the place. During the right time of the year, you will no doubt find many.

Hell yeah! I only lived there for one summer, because my parents didn't want me to go to Cave junction schools. The teachers sold drugs to the students.
