Apparently the GOP just shot down funding for the moonshot cancer cure program. Guess all those cancer researchers are gonna have to go out and do something useful, like flip burgers.

Id like to point out that Noem is not and has never been a leading VP candidate.  She was a dark horse candidate that had almost no chance even before this shit.  Good riddance to trash that can't train a dog, gets mad at their own inability, and then takes it out on the dog.  Oh, they threw in a goat to murder for good measure.

Shooting your own puppy because of your failure as a trainer is fucked  up but a goat though ?
If you live on a farm you have to kill shit like that on the regular . That's not murder .
If it is then I've  murdered chickens , goats , sheep ,cows , ducks , squirrels , a bear , some deer and they all tasted really good .

most people dont live on farms they would bring said animal to the pound/shelter or if its a violent psycho maybe animal control.

but shooting a dog because thats how you solve problems on the farm? how on earth is that relatable to the general public:lol:

As someone who has lived in rural Washington... and worked on many farms.. that is how shit is done 100% of the time.

The animal cruelty in rural places... it seemed unconscionable to me. Like my buddy telling me how he drowned the neighborhood stray cats in the river...

I've seen and heard a lot of horrible things.

By the way... those Meninites and Amish and whatever plain-dress cult people... I've worked for them too.. they are far worse.

Sometimes I could hardly look at some of the people around me without harboring some level of deep hatred for the things they deemed acceptable.

The strange thing is... they were some of the kindest, most well-manored, good natured people you can imagine otherwise. (Not the meninites/amish)

I shot my own dog once , poor dude got into a fight with some stray pit bulls  and they ripped half his face off.  It can be the right thing to do given the situation .

I think it often is the right thing to do.

There will come a day when I will probably wish to be put down in the same way.

You know... when I see an animal hit by a car.. mortally wounded.. my first reaction is to want to shoot it in the head. Of course.

From what I understand... lethal injections get botched quite often btw... I think a bullet to the head is a good way to die.

Both my shihtzus were put down by needle no problem, but we had a pig stroke out and lose the ability to walk with its hind legs, and my stepdad  got a farm vet to inject it, it was a shit show, took two injections like 10 minutes apart, the first one didn't work all the way

My stepdad said if we had another pig that needed to be put down he would source some fent after seeing that lethal injection fail

This is absolutely true.  Humane euthanasia is a thing.  It's also usually a last resort.

Whether shooting counts as "humane" is usually up for debate.

I dunno... but eventually.. I intend to put a cap in my own head..

It seems like a good way to go.

Isn't humane euthanisation if it's on the brink of death already, not just shittily trained?

I had a bird that was a bit of an ass, because I was 12 and didn't know how to train him, but he went to an aviary one day, I didn't stick him in a microwave instead.

It would  have taken a long time to take him to the vet to use drugs . A long bumpy car ride with no eye seemed inhumane .

It does in instances where intolerable pain will continue unto death.  Such as after being hit by a car, terrible cancer pain etc.  I would argue that in those instances, a single shot tonthe head is definitively "humane".  I also recognize that what we would consider humane for a dog is different for a human.

It is done in cases of severe behavior problems for dogs as well.  Such as when there is no safe way to keep the dog besides locked in a kennel due to aggression.  Not sure I totally agree but

I used to have a rescue dog. He was an Akita mix. He was a fucking scary dog. His previous owner abused the fuck out of him.

When I would play with him... he didn't know how to play. The way he acted, looked and sounded like he was two seconds away from tearing my arm off, but he didn't bite me.

Eventually he got loose.. some woman grabbed him by the scruff of his neck to try and catch him, and she got bit.

He actually bit a few people, but only when they were stupid with him. I really loved that dog to pieces...

If someone had come to put him down... I would probably be in prison..

Akita's are really amazing dogs. Anyway... that's my story! Enjoy.

Akitas are good looking dogs but unpredictable and bitey.  I pretty much don't trust any strange dog.  Everyone claims their dogs don't bite but it happens all the time.  I'll yell at a loose dog to go home but I'm not gonna grab it to check the collar or anything like that

I had a buddy who was a trucker and he had an Akita. That dog loved him and fucking hated everybody else. He said the dog saved his ass a few times on the road but he really couldn't take the dog out in public.
