Good to see a robust discussion, shows the strength and vitality of GOP. I agree that Trump handled the recent emergencies poorly and it may end up costing him the election that was his to lose. An equally honest public commentary on Biden's competencies would also be welcome

He seems more honest than trump and less egotistical though  . I don’t expect to have explain why he said  his inauguration crowd was the biggest ever even  though we could all see it wasn’t .

Yes, Biden seems less concerned about his image than Trump. Which is just as well because he presents as a senile old man with rapidly declining mental faculties. Yet to see any in-depth commentary on it from the Dems.

That's a pretty low bar, wouldn't you say?  I'm certainly not gonna vote for the authoritarian who wants cops to simply shoot unarmed people in the legs instead of the heart, whatever that was supposed to mean.

More honest than trump?  sure, by some degree
Fewer rapes than trump? probably
less racist than trump? maybe

Given recent events, I'm not confident that there will be an election this year anyway.

Yeah, I really don’t think they are all that different at heart.  Maybe in style & presentation / appearance - but they are both lying old perverted corrupt egotistical racist elitists.

It is a sad reflection on the US political system that we are down to two candidates - a very unpopular incumbent and equally unappealing contender. The positive thing is that the economy is waking up so maybe all this circus does not matter that much for jobs

Yeah, one-party rule is fantastic as long as we have jobs.

That’s literally what happens in every single election we have ever had .
That sounds like something Biden would say .
It could have been worse we could have had Bernie , he is even less popular than Biden .

Where do people come up with this shit  Bernie has had the highest poll numbers against Trump since anyone started doing polls of said matchup for the last 5 years.

He's also been the most popular senator for 11 years straight.

We’re did I come up with that ?  I would say the fact that Bernie lost the primary to Biden , sorry , I mean got his ass kicked , sorta hints to the fact that he is less popular .

By the measure of a rigged primary that only party members vote in then? :smilingpuppy:

Mind Biden was getting reamed until they got to South Carolina and they pulled the plug on the whole 'fairness' shpeel.

By the measure of all eligible US voters tho?

The economy is going to be a relative disaster for many years. The stock market will be volatile but should do OK. The job market will have high unemployment and many people making less money. Their reduced earnings will drag down the revenues of other businesses. It is very difficult to find economic analysts with a more favorable opinion currently.

The market was due for a correction....like a couple of them, pre Covid , that never happened. The powers that be, continue to leep and press into the quantitative unknown with our currency.  Its almost like we got to start a war or something to get moving economically.

Who wouldn't want a guy in cognitive decline when his opponent wants to do icky things like help the working class?

I am in a minority on the shroomery, as I frequently defend the opposing side when they have a point about something or when my side make believes something about them.  I also attack my side if I think they're wrong.  People here get very confused by that and think it means I prefer the other side.
