We’re officially in a recession now. You know who never got us into a recession? Joe Biden

You’re all over the place. Trump isn’t establishment and the establishment media (including fox) was against him during the primaries in 2016. He still won. In fact, I bet a lot of people would say that having the entire media against him was a reason why they supported him.

Trump wasn't establishment in 2016 when he was proposing uplifting the working class and requiring companies to bring back jobs
Trump is establishment in 2020 as over the course of his presidency he has repeatedly thrown the working class under the bus to pander to the wealthy elite

in my eyes, you and Falcon are more on the same page than you realize
You treat anyone as better than Trump, while Falcon treats anyone (read: Trump) as better than Biden

both are clear garbage and neither deserve defenses
and voting for either is going to have the same outcome for the working class
Trump just has the additional negatives for other minorities, while Biden has the additional negative of cementing and normalizing what Trump has done rather than seeking to make sweeping changes

Trump is a moral degenerate with authoritarian tendencies and a base that would like to see everyone who doesn’t support him put in prison. The man had protesters tear gassed and shot with rubber bullets to show how tough he is. If he wins again he will take that as permission to do WHATEVER THE FUCK HE WANTS. Reproductive tights will be a quaint memory, and so may be democracy itself. And that’s not being alarmist.

The entire country is protesting on a daily basis about police brutality and Trump is pro police brutality. How is that good for anyone? Not caring if Biden or Trump wins is a privileged position.

mhm
and it will be another term of chaos as he tries to do whatever he wants and gets roped back in an redirected to pandering to the establishment before he goes off on another tirade

think that a number of people see the potential of him floundering around ineffectively and then hopefully having a better Democratic candidate next time around

in contrast, what is the concern with Biden?
that he has shown no signs of walking back the things Trump has done -- that he will solidify the narratives that Trump has created through his inaction

could say with confidence that Bernie would do more in favour of Trans Rights than Trump has done to harm them
cannot say the same with regards to Biden -- not even able to be certain that he will walk back the things Trump has done
and then, at that point, they become the new normalized state of being for the US

really, for me the bigger concern of a repeat Trump win is not all the things he will feel empowered to attack
it is the fact that he will almost certainly not live through the term; and once the reins shift to Pence it will be as solidified as passing it to Biden

y'all are going into a lose-lose situation

Don’t care. You got two choices. One of them is Trump. It’s the easiest decision in the world.

Lol I can’t imagine a more ridiculous strategy with zero evidence it would even work. For what? The loss of the judiciary for a generation? The real risk of a proven lawless president unteathered from any accountability to the electorate and checks and balances. It’s insane.

and what is Biden going to provide if he sweeps in and interrupts Trump now?

what you attribute to insanity is a matter of apathy
Biden does not excite voters, and seems to offer little more than continuing what Trump has already done

there is zero evidence a candidate that will actually change things will step up next time
but the take-away is that people would rather see the possibility of real change another 5 years from now
than someone who is just going to continue Trump's established status quo that has been reached now

Biden isn’t going to continue to nominate federalist society judges to permanent seats in the federal judiciary. One more Supreme Court pick and abortion is gone. The court will side with corporations for a generation. Ever progressive policy will be struck down for the next 25 years. This shit is not a joke. We are getting close to the point where it will not matter who the president is because the courts will be so stacked against anything arising from a liberal ideology, the best we can hope for is to not backslide for two decades. We spent six years with the senate essentially refusing to allow Obama to appoint judges, including a rightful appointment to the Supreme Court and since trump was elected they have been flooding the system with the most right wing, corporatist and YOUNG judges in America. I will take decades to undo the damage already done. Another four years and there will be no hope.

Republicans will vote for trump even if they hate him just to attain the goal of controlling women’s bodies. The have been working this plan since the eighties and now we have a bunch of cry baby liberals who would rather nurse their butthurt feelings about their candidate then stop the republicans from reaching their goal. It’s pathetic.

And when Biden does not bother to turn back the tide, content to tread the established waterline
then the next republican president will do it

Yes, I realize that Trump generally sides with the wealthy over the working class.  But Trump isn't playing along with some of the world domination games the neocons are pushing.

Keep making those excuses
keep trying to put Trump on the anti-establishment pedestal
keep make believing positive things about him because he is marginally less negative in your eyes than the other establishment guy

I don't think Biden's less negative than Trump.  I just think Biden's more establishment.

Here's how I can tell Trump isn't establishment:  “90% of the United States’ media is controlled by five media conglomerates”.  This is to help ensure the establishment media controls the narrative of what they want the majority of the population to believe.  They've been extremely anti-Trump for as long as I can remember, and even more anti-Bernie (for obvious reasons), but very pro Biden.

I think we can agree on just about everything else you said about Trump/Biden in this thread (except you think I like Trump better than Biden), so I'm not really arguing with you outside of whether Trump is establishment or not.

Again, I realize that because Trump often votes for policies that favor the rich, that makes him a bit more likeable to the establishment than Bernie.  But the establishment and their media still hate him.

The establishment media is not against Trump. They love him.  He's a cash cow for them and thats why he got so much unearned media time last go round which in turn played into his victory.
